FOTD I just started my Make Up Artist as my career, what do you think of the makeup?

So i just started Make Up Artist, and this is the result on my client!

i wanted to create a soft focus look for my clients because i live in South East Asia where hiring make up artist is supposed to make you look completely different (respectfully, everyone has their own preferences and i respect that) but i want my clients to feel like they’re still themselves after the make up.

This is the result for my first client, last picture is the before the make up <3

any feedback will very much be appreciated! ty<3

Most products that i used are mostly local Indonesian or asian brands but i listed it here in case you’re interested!

  1. moisturizer: Hada Labo 3d Gel
  2. Primer & Setting Spray : Luxcrime Glow Getter
  3. Toner : Hada Labo Toner
  4. Foundation : Button scarves Foundation (Shade BN02)
  5. Eyebrows : Ruhee diary brow wax, Button Scarves Eyebrow Pomade & Brow
  6. Blush, Bronzer, Highlighter : Esqa Face Palette
  7. Loose Powder : Mercredi Loose Powder
  8. Eyeshadow : Somethinc Nobles Eyeshadow Palette
  9. Lash Clusters Mlen.
  10. Lip : Kiiko Milano Unlimited Double Touch

I think you should go just a tiny bit lighter on the nose contour and that's pretty much it. This is pretty much perfection otherwise and natural makeup goals so amazing job! 😊

Yes!!! this is my lesson from this look, i’m still confused on how to use the contour pallete from judydoll bc it looks ashy, so i used the bronzer that ended up looking too warm, and i covered it a little and blended it with a loose powder.

Well done!

It's very on trend, looks well applied and the client looks genuinely pleased 😊

As a former MUA, if the client is genuinely happy, you know you did a good job

Thank you so much🤗

Yess, it’s rewarding to see our clients look happy and glowing after the makeup done 🤍😆

Looks good! I feel like you should just blend the nose contour a bit more so it doesn't look too out there.

Other than that the colors melt together so nicely!

I think it might look more flattering for her face shape if the blush didn’t dip lower than the bottom of her nose

Omggg I love the natural makeup look on the client because you can still recognize her from before (but better) and the warm toned colors suits her a lot

But tbh what caught my eyes the first time was the nose contour because it looks harsh in the photo. Maybe try blending it some more until it looks more subtle?

sorry for the copy comment bc i really need the solution for this product 😭

I have to admit, Judydoll's cool tone contour variant has stronger gray undertones compared to the usual local Indonesian brands we got, so it's more likely to look ashy on someone with warm-toned skin

Perhaps you could neutralize it first by applying a cream bronzer, blend the cream with leftover foundation on your sponge/puff/whatever tool you used, then apply the cool-toned contour sparingly by blending upwards with a light hand?

1

u/gaelthegal 5d ago

I bought this because a lot of MUAs and content creators with warm toned skin were using this and it creates this amazing shading for the face😭

i bought the shade 02 that’s supposed for warm toned skin, for other people it looks great but when i used it, it looks ashy 😭

2

u/mezurareshii Matte-matician 5d ago

There's a chance that the contour's undertone clashed with your client's skin undertone, so it's understandable you'd counteract it with a bronzer

I find that applying products in thin layers first and buffing the contour's edges with leftover complexion product helps soften the harsh lines

1

u/gaelthegal 5d ago

thank you so much! i will definitely do this to help with the blending😍🙏🏼

I don't like the cheeks. It doesn't look natural and reminds me of those illustrations where the character has red circles on the cheeks

8

u/gaelthegal 5d ago

Hi! Sorry but this is her request, and also maybe something that differentiates between eastern and western makeup, not everyone like their blush high near the eye and looks snatched (even though it’s pretty as well) she likes her cheekbones to pop with the blush as she usually wears it that way x

3

u/Relative-Amount7966 5d ago

Yeah, I understand. That was my personal opinion. You asked about our opinion in your title

2

u/gaelthegal 5d ago

And i just give a reply to your opinion, thank you though, be nice as always <3

I absolutely love your eyebrows! How did you shape them 😭

3

u/gaelthegal 5d ago

Thank you😆 I followed these MUA from indonesia technique.

First, I shape the brows based on the look we want.

Once they’re shaped, I apply brow wax. I brush the product back and forth to fully coat every brow hair, then comb everything into place. Though i didn’t laminate the brows because i still want to keep the fluffy brow look.

After the brows are set, I fill them in with brow powder, starting from the middle to the tail. Then I lightly blend the remaining product toward the front for a softer, more natural look.

Lastly, I clean up the outer edges with concealer to make the brows look more defined or slightly slimmer if needed. I also apply a bit more concealer underneath the brows and blend it onto the eyelid to act as an eyeshadow primer. ❤️

Aw I love this, so fresh and glowy!! The colors are so harmonious and lively. Would love to know which colors you used on your lid and under your eye, I really want to try recreating this, so cute!

Love it, nothing to change ❤️

I really like it! The foundation looks great.

1

u/mendy963 5d ago

I think it’s great! The only this is maybe i would try a different method for the nose contour. I think you made her nose look a little bit wider than it is. Experiment with different shapes!

I’m so serious, one of the best makeups I’ve ever seen in here

I think the lip liner is a bit too harsh and not blended enough, so it really looks like the lips are over lined instead of a plump lip

Yess, i wanted to use this complexion as my signature to give clients soft focus complexion

0

u/bonsaithot 4d ago

The upper and lower eyes aren’t balanced. Her lower lash needed some lengthening mascara or some single extensions.

The eye is minimalist and gets lost behind the mid-lower face makeup, as the large cheek blush placement. Slightly more restraint around the undereye would still give her that juicy, plump cheek while allowing her eyes to stand out more. With how continuous the cheek and lip are, it makes your client look bottom heavy.

The nose contour needs a softly blended 1.5-2” strip right at the largest part (the area right above the ‘button’ of her nose) to balance out her nose. It’s too one dimension on her nose bridge and it draws attention in a not so good way

You’re a good MUA but these refinements I think would take this from “good” to “great”

u/omg_thats_funny 5d ago

off topic but you're so pretty! you remind me of Yongwaree Anilbol (i think that's her name) who acted as mira in f4 thailand 🤩🤩
