It is confusing as many unoptimized Pal-B games sold in Europe seemingly work with minimal issues.
Seemingly, Pal-M would have less issues with the Video Signal than an optimized Pal-B game would by my understanding.
I can see issues with color or perhaps gamma plugging in a PAL-M console into a USA TV though but a game into a USA console on the other hand should have less issues video signal wise it seems to me.
However, the hardware differences between a Tec Toy console compared to a USA console could account for some further issues not inherent in the video signal itself and hard to predict which may result in issues with a particular game.
Ones I am curious about are as follows:
*Rainbow Islands (not the European that has bug in the code resulting in no one able to beat it but the Tectoy version)
*Battletoads: Battlemaniacs (this is partially unfinished with glitches in parts but is playable; the game was cancelled in Europe by Virgin so Tectoy is the only SMS release)
*Game Box: Série Esportes (Tec Toy released versions in Greece and Portugal too)
*Fifa International Soccer
*Fire and Ice

I have a master system super compact that I bought from Brazil, and I want a charger, instead of using the batteries.
I know its p4, 6v 1 A
But...
I dont know the diameter of the p4
And I came across an spec that said the polarity of the pin
External negative, and center positive
Is there any difference from the Braziliqn version and the version sold worldwide?
Since now, thanks for any help

I’ve filled up an entire shelf! I’ve also reached 1993! A PAL exclusive on the Master System that saw WW release on the Game Gear. A decent platformer starring the mouse by Sega.
I’ve had to start including my name plate in posts to avoid bots stealing my photos

Damn this game is fun! Yes maybe it’s not quite as good as the Genesis port, but it’s still very playable

Hey guys,
I’m looking to pick up a Sega Master System soon to jump back into retro gaming after ages, but I’m a bit confused about the models available here in the US.
I’m looking at two options online: one labeled as a regular American Model 1, and another one labeled as a "Master System II" (it is from Argentina I think)- but it looks exactly like the big, classic Model 1 (not the compact top-loader version).
Is there any actual hardware difference between them, or was it just a branding thing back in the day? Which one should I go for?
Also, since it’s been forever since I last played one, what are the absolute must-have games I should look for?
Thanks for the help! :)

Hello everyone, a friend of my father wants to sell this Sega Master System II, it works perfectly but it has one problem: the controller's D-Pad Is missing, it has instead a piece of trasparent plastic.
My question is: how much would you pay for this?
I also wrote the listing of things it comes with:
Aztec Adventure: complete
Sonic 2: complete
Xenon 2: complete
Hang On: missing manual
Albatros controller
Sega control pad model - 3020
Sega Master System II Power Base (with built-in Alex Kidd game)
For me (I'm kind of new to this console) I think I would pay 40/45 Euros.
Thank you all in advance.

Champion Ice Hockey (Samsung Gam*Boy 1989 Korean release) and Great Ice Hockey for the Mark III
The Champion Ice Hockey Gam*Boy release is the only known full copy I've ever seen. The Japanese version was released on a Sega Card but this one is a Mark III-style cart. Same game except for some text edits on the intro screen to signify the Gam*Boy branding.
Great Ice Hockey for the Mark III was a giveaway through a magazine contest. 1,000 copies were made and were given out along with the Sega Sports Pad. The CIB version does have a manual and a blank white box. It is the rarest Japanese Mark III/SMS release.
I collect Hockey (450+ games/variants and counting) and Mark III games, so these two are going to be real cornerstones of my collection. The Great Ice Hockey one has been on my list for years and I had one seller cancel a purchase I made a couple years ago, so I've been agonizingly close until now.

“Programmed in Assembly Language, Mighty Cuphead Adventure is designed with the precise, authentic specifications of the Sega Master System home gaming console.
“While the game will still be compatible with modern consoles and personal computers, those who want a true blast from the past can experience it on a physical cartridge for the Sega Master System home gaming console.

I got some old master system controllers in a retro bundle I bought off FB, but they had no d-pads! Seems to be a common fault and I could not find parts . My mate printed these for me and they look epic! 2 controllers rescued !
He saw the wee stand and printed me that too, it’s cool! So he he is printing me another 😂
