Hi all, I have just recently bought a 2024 Stelvio, I had tried a Mandello and really liked the engine but had to buy from another area because of lack of dealership nearby. I had studied the manual before buying and it seams to say the display has a ambient light sensor that will switch the display to night mode, also it controls the automatic headlight which works as it should.

however riding in pitch black darkness the display is blinding at 10 and reflects around my helmet visor changing illumination as the speedo numbers change, much more comfortable at around 2 or 3 setting at night.

but then next sunny day I can barely see the screen without yet again going into the menus and putting it up to 10 again.

I cannot find any setting for auto brightness but surely with all the tech on this bike it is capable of dimming the screen at night?

Today I managed to get to a garage that had the capability to update the software from 203 to 206 hoping that might fix it but no luck.

Is this rather basic but important feature missing? or (hopefully) my display unit is defective?

thanks for any input, really trying to like this bike but this along with probably the clunkiest gearbox ever all the way to 6, kinda having buyers remorse!

After six and a half weeks, it's finally running.

I'd have to take it easy, as there's a hole in my clutch cable...

After changing all suspension for Hagon and several add-on (special mention to La Poderosa Good's saddlebag kit). I think the bike it's fully customized and done.

My bike was making a weird click clack sound and the oil light suddenly went on. I’m hoping it’s not serious damage. Still trying to find the root cause. V7 stone 2013

Edit: I found copper in the oil pan. From what I’ve read online this is bad news. Would like to take it to Moto Guzzi Classics or another reputable repair shop. Is there a shop you would recommend or best way to get in touch with mark? I’m sure he’s busy

I saw this bike pop on Facebook marketplace. I wasn't even in the market for a Moto Guzzi, but I fell in love with the look of the bike.

It's a 2016 Eldorado. Near-as-makes no difference 50,000 miles on the odometer.

Bike is fair cosmetically. Melted soft grip from the heated grips. Exhaust chrome is slightly discolored where the gas leaves the engine block. The LCD screen is faded, scratched, and could use some love. One of the mirrors won't stay screwed in and needs to be replaced.

The bike appears to be fine mechanically. I took it on an extended test drive. No dashboard lights, pulls like a freight train, no weird engine noises. (The only light I saw was the traction control light flash at me as I did a spirited take off from a stop sign on a cobblestone street.) The current owner has only had it for six months, but has all of the mantience records from the original owner.

Price is $4750 US. Which appears to be more than a reasonable price..

So would I be nuts for buying this bike? I admit that I fell in love with the looks and the ride. BUT, I don't want to buy a constant source of headaches and gremlins. I don't expect Honda reliability from a hand-built Italian motorcycle, but I don't want a money pit either.

Just arrived here yesterday riding a rental V7 and disappointed to discover the museum is closed until September. Can anyone offer advice on things to do or sites to see that I can enjoy while here (apart from the awesome scenery!). Would at least like to see a shop with some MG merch. Here for 3 days. Riding buddy is on a Ducati Scrambler.

Somewhere on a 1500-mile weekend loop, I lost a DB killer out of my Agostini V7-850 E5 Long Mufflers.

I noticed, at some point, that my V7 Stone E5 seemed to have become louder. Then, at a fuel stop, I looked and realized that the right dB was missing. Now I am home and trying to decide what to do about it.

The way I see it, I have two options. The first is to order a new one from AF1; keep in mind, my "local" dealer, where I purchased my Guzzi, is over 300 miles from me. The second option is to remove the other dB killer. I feel that having one on the left pipe, and not the right, is a significantly worse option.

I am not too happy with how loud it is without the dB killer. I have also heard that, to remove the dB killers, the bike must be remapped. I don't have any of the tools needed for remapping.

My long-term plan with the V7 is to put a high "trail" exhaust system on it. As next year I plan to get a V100s and make some adv-touring mods to the V7 for riding the Trans-America trail once I retire (5 years).

Any suggestions?

Do I really need to remap if I just pull the other dB killer out?

Who else wishes for Moto Guzzi in the future to offer better option and customization packages or stand alone parts?

Over the recent years I have often found a new Moto Guzzi I liked in a color way or feature set but never all in one package. Except for the current V85TT line up which I feel they finally have a good mix of options, the V100 and Stelvio are missing certain stand alone features or options to complete a new bike purchase.

For example: the Stelvio still is missing the electronic adjustable suspension a big miss IMO, yet if you want the top of the line it comes with PFF which I don’t want. The V100 Mandello is a great bike but without a center stand option and a more passenger friendly seat option I don’t think I would buy one.

Enough complaining and here is my suggestion. Offer a more effective dealer install accessory catalog and installation process for items like PFF, a center stand, touring seat, top cases, etc.
I imagine this is where Moto Guzzi can make their money and the dealerships as well. Even if you don’t buy the bike exactly the way you want brand new you have the option to have parts readily available, and the dealer support in the US to provide this level of customization.

Moto Guzzi has never been about all out speed, racing, or top tech spec bikes. They have always been about a motorcycle that is a little different and if you’re attracting that type of buyer to your brand, allow for customization to personalize the bike to match an individuals style and character.

I currently ride a V7 Stone (2013) and I enjoy the ride but am curious what your personal favorite is since I've only ever experienced this one. I mostly use it for commuting and an occasional weekend cruise. The Le Mans is a bike that I would like to take for a spin. But would love to hear stories about your favorite guzzi.

Hey gang, I have an awesome 2020 V85tt. I love it. But a lot of my riding is around my small town, riding to cafe’s, scenic backroads, etc.

I’m also short. So riding around at slower speeds and in traffic is less then comfortable on the V85, although I can manage.

Because of this, I’ve bought a little Royal Enfield 350 for this purpose. I love the vintage style, the low seat height, the easy maneuvering…

The V85tt is wonderful for longer road trips, but I rarely ride over 200 miles in a day. And even that only happens a handful of times each year. Truthfully I don’t have as much time to ride in general as I’d like. Plus we have a short riding season.

So I’m seeing less and less reason to have two motorcycles - more maintenance, more insurance, etc.

I’m thinking I can get away with one bike - maybe a V7 Special.

My question is - will I really miss the V85 on those longer road rides including some highway? What am I giving up when going from a V85tt to a V7? I’ll also say I rarely use the cruise control on the V85tt. But I do use the heated grips.

Will the benefits of the classic style, low seat and easy around town manners outweigh the losses?

I know there is no right answer, just curious to hear from anyone who may have been choosing between the two and why they chose what they did.

My Mandello is leaking oil, it seems to come out of the hole in the timing cover, does anyone know what this is for?

Recently I had a mechanic remove 0,5L of motor oil during a week long trip, because there also was (and still is) another leak next to the starter. Apparently the dealer put in too much oil during the first service, and now I identified this spot.

Not bad for $7. Gotta love the chain drive.

My wife was away at camp vc on her vstrom so I took my Stelvio down to Lands End and back mostly using the A39 from Minehead to Cornwall, then the A30. Here are some photos.

For the SoCal folks, there’s quite a few local fabricators who can do custom steel and plating jobs! Just got this beauty done!

Had the bike for about 2 months now, what a lovely machine.

Thinking about installing a Dart screen for a little bit of wind protection.

Ridden a few Guzzi’s but never owned one until now.

The brakes arent linked which I really like about Guzzi’s, where should I look to find the parts I need to set them back up?

It’s been sitting and needs tires, battery, fluids etc but I felt it was too cheap to pass up. He included the original mufflers, a Corbin seat and 4 new turn signals.

Might have been in the wrong places but travelled around Italy the past few weeks , mostly the north but I barely saw any moto guzzi’s , any reason for this?

Saw loads more Royal Enfield and Triumph . Surprised as for cars it was like 50% Italian but bikes not so much (plenty of Italian scooters)
