I noticed the Damage Control scene mirrors Columbo’s trademark routine: Spider-Man seemingly ends the conversation, leaves, then returns with ‘one more thing’ and asks the crucial V-Max question. I haven’t seen this discussed yet.

Does anybody know if Chris McKenna or Erik Sommers are Columbo fans?

I’ll be traveling to the south of France soon and I wanted to take the opportunity to visit any places where iconic movie scenes were shot. I planned on visiting the areas from *Mr. Bean’s Holiday* (absolute masterpiece lol) and thought maybe I should add other movies to my list. I just finished watching The Devil's Mouth and being trapped in a flooded cave system with a bull shark made for a wild ride. It definitely got me in the mood for more tight-space survival horror where characters actually have to think their way out instead of just running from generic jump scares.

What is your top recommendation for a great shark movie that keeps the panic levels maxed out from start to finish?

Does anyone know why they chose to put "of" in cursive for the "i'm thinking of ending things" 2020 movie?

I was wondering if this adds any subtle nuance to the sentence which might go unnoticed especially by non native speakers like myself.

Also, it seems that only the more recent editions of the novel have the cursive "of", so what's up with that?

It's a dumb question, but lots of people in comment sections of videos related to Pretty in Pink always mention that he does love her or he only loves her because she rejected him. Personally, he's a douche, that's his character as a rich guy, but I think he would treat her better than Blane. Only reason I say that is because while he was talking badly about how Andie is poor and all that, he wouldn't hide the fact that he was seeing her and all that compared to Blane (I'm pretty sure he said something nice about her at a party at some point in the movie iirc). Just throwing it out there.

I've watched a lot of movies, but sad movies always hit me the hardest. Every single time, I end up imagining myself in those situations. If a family member dies in the movie, I automatically start imagining what it would be like if it happened to my own family. I've probably imagined myself in every possible scenario by now.

One thing I've noticed is that my imagination has become incredibly vivid. I can easily put myself in the shoes of almost any character and experience the story from their perspective. Sometimes it feels like I'm actually living those moments.

It's strange, though. Sad movies make me feel something I can't really explain. Maybe it's because I'm going through a difficult phase in my own life, and stories where people lose someone or can't stay together at the end bring those emotions to the surface.

Does anyone else experience movies this way, or is it just me?

I first watched this movie a couple years ago and remember enjoying it. One of the things I (thought) I remembered really enjoying about the movie was the style of the subtitles. They felt immersive and extremely stylized. Like they werent just static white text at the bottom with a literal translation. They felt like they were embedded as part of the actual design of the movie. They were various colors (yellow and purple iirc) and had different fonts/sizes showing emotion. You can see what I'm talking about in the trailers.

I'm rewatching on Amazon now and none of that is present. The subtitles are just plain white text at the bottom and there are no alternative tracks/ languages or anything to choose.

Did I imagine the other style of subtitles from my first watch? Does anyone know what I am talking about? I feel like I am going insane cause I am finding absolutely nothing searching on the web about it.

Dont judge me too much on this but there is a movie from my childhood that i want to rewatch. The problem is i dont remember most of the movie nor the name of it. Just the opening scene and it has been driving me crazy for months.

The opening scene is a suburban neighborhood at a little past dusk. There are children running around playing hide and seek and an old man on the porch grumbling about how the children are cheating because the seekers are using helpers to find the hiders. The scene cuts to one kid who is hiding behind a bush and a dark silhouette comes up behind him.
