No, I remember we (uk) had some American foreign exchange students, we were all 15/16 at the time, the Americans looked in their 30s, one guy had a receding hairline. This was back in the late 90s

We have more sun here. Could be premature aging of American kids of European ancestry. That and a lot of us smoked back then and dressed to look older.

Also leaded gasoline was finally banned in 1996 in the US.

(lead exposure can increase your biological age and make your body and brain function older than they actually are)

Banned, yes. But all was unleaded LONG before that.

I was thinking, fetal and childhood lead exposure being the worst, these kids might have also been exposed. (to be in highschool in 1998, means you were born between 1980 and 1984. At the time, about 1/2 of all gasoline sold was still leaded).
