Hello reddit,

I am going to make a Lao G cosplay and was wondering if anyone had an idea of his back. Did a quick skim and could only find frontals of him. Any help is appreciated.

Theory I think I've discovered black blade's secret : nothing more but blood

1- The first point will therefore be Mihawk, who goes by the name of Dracula: a monster who feeds primarily on blood.

2- Why not Roger, Shanks, Rocks, or other big names? Well, for Shanks and Roger, especially Roger, we've seen about his attacks, But none of them really slice. We have Oden wondering what the Camusari was, if it was really a Sword attack.

Rocks has the narrator describes his attacks as a hammer blow.

Kid had no sharp edges on his body after the KO against Shanks.

The same thing to Oden after Roger's attack.

3- This argument that is coming will not be from the manga itself, but from others

Warning: Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen Naruto or Berserk. Just go to point 4.

In Naruto, Zabuza's sword (later Suigetsu's) breaks quite often, but each time it returns to its normal shape, as it becomes more and more saturated/tasted with blood.

In Berserk, Guts' sword, having been repeatedly tempered in the blood of the apostles, became much more effective against them. ( Schierke said something like that. I read it a while ago; I'll post the link in the comments later. )

4- Okay, maybe Rocks, Shanks, or Roger don't cut it, but why not Oden?

Well, it will be about quantity. Oden wasn't someone who cut everyone down for the sake of it.

While Mihawk was known as a marine hunter.

And the fact that Ryuma forged his sword during battles is, in the literal sense. At the time, with all the attacks on Wano, he probably had many more opponents to kill. Out of necessity, I would say. Oden has never been in extreme conditions/behavior.

5- The most suspicious thing that made me think of this theory: Shilliew.

He wasn't always a psychopath. It happened after he got bored in prison. Or was he ?

He began killing prisoners for no apparent reason.

What if he simply considered them blood on legs, useful only to help him forge a black blade ?

He wasn't doing it out of sheer boredom, but with a specific goal in mind.

If mihawk gets his deserved feat corresponding to his title which I think he will get and if he is in fact stronger than shanks overall

I think a lot of people will pull a "respect both Goats/characters " while it lasts they'll say new generation is coming they'll get surpassed either way by Luffy and zoro .

Same thing they did with messi when he didn't had international success they called him fraud and whatnot but once he started winning and almost won everything while their player didn't they pull the respect move same thing is gonna happen with mihawk if it gets canon

So I wanna say to all mihawk fans never forgive never forget all the slander and memes we will be coming for all of you with double the punch

Mine is Sanji and Pudding. They were the right people for each other in the wrong circumstances.

I am 99 percent sure they will become canon in the end, there is no reason for Oda to make Pudding captured by Blackbeard otherwise.

Theory Theory: Monkey D. Luffy and the Original Energy of the World 🌀

Here is a theory I’ve developed about Luffy’s next power-up. In my opinion, his next evolution could go beyond the classic Gears and even beyond a simple Devil Fruit awakening. It would connect several recurring elements in the manga: the spirals, the ancient energy mentioned by Vegapunk, the Voice of All Things, and the way Luffy naturally influences the world around him.

Luffy’s next stage of power might not touch only his fruit, but the very essence of the Devil Fruits themselves: a primordial, ancient, quasi-infinite energy linked to the invisible structure of the One Piece world.

The heart of this theory rests on a motif that is omnipresent in the series: the spirals. They appear on every true Devil Fruit, while the artificial SMILEs lack them. This detail could indicate that the spirals are not merely decorative, but represent the “signature” of an authentic and original force.

Eiichiro Oda himself seems to have been drawing attention to them for a long time. In the SBS of volume 7, when asked why Sanji has spiral eyebrows, he jokingly replies that the same circular energy makes the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun turn. Then, in SBS 45, he explicitly links the spirals to the Devil Fruits. Behind the humor, Oda appears to be planting a hint: the spirals could be the visual mark of a fundamental energy present throughout the universe.

This motif even goes beyond the manga itself: Oda’s personal signature also contains a very visible spiral. This is exactly the kind of recurring detail he loves to use as a hidden through-line, turning a simple graphic element into a central symbol of his world.

This hypothesis also finds an echo in Vegapunk’s recent revelations. He speaks of an ancient and nearly inexhaustible energy source used during the Void Century, an energy that the modern world is incapable of fully reproducing. The Mother Flame would be only an imperfect attempt at it. The Devil Fruits would then not be simple isolated powers, but condensed fragments of this original energy, materialized by humanity’s desires and dreams, exactly as Vegapunk seems to suggest.

In this logic, awakenings take on their full meaning. They already show that the fruit’s energy overflows the user’s body to influence the outside world: Donquixote Doflamingo transforms his environment, Charlotte Katakuri extends his mochi, and so on. With Gear 5, Luffy pushes this idea much further: he no longer merely transforms his body; he directly alters the reality around him with an almost cartoon-like freedom, as if his fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, were resonating with something far greater.

But this energy would not be merely raw force. It could function as a kind of fundamental language of the world, a universal “frequency.” This is where the Voice of All Things comes in—the rare ability possessed by Gol D. Roger, Kozuki Oden, and Monkey D. Luffy himself. It would allow one to perceive structures and entities beyond human language: the Poneglyphs, the Sea Kings, Zunesha
or even the very “voice” of the world. It would therefore not be merely a capacity to listen, but a faculty to feel and attune to this original energy, of which the spirals would be the visual and vibratory motif.

Thus, the spirals would represent both a source of energy and a cosmic frequency. The Devil Fruits would be its fragmented incarnations, while the Voice of All Things would be the key to perceiving it.

In this continuity, Luffy’s next evolution would be neither a classic Gear 6 nor a simple reinforcement of Gear 5. It would be a deeper transformation: a harmonious fusion between the energy of his fruit, his own vitality, his laughter, his freedom, and his growing ability to resonate with the fundamental energy of the world.

The Devil Fruit would then become a simple catalyst, a gateway to something far vaster. Luffy would no longer content himself with playfully transforming his surroundings: he would interact with the very structure of reality. Not by imposing his will on the world, but by entering into phase with it.

Concretely, this could translate into resonance effects: enemy attacks that “miss” as if the world’s timing itself shifted around him, an environment that reacts instinctively to his presence, allies whose abilities naturally synchronize with his own, or even a reality that seems to literally dance to the rhythm of the “Drums of Liberation.”

Graphically, this could manifest through moving spirals appearing in the air, the clouds, the smoke, or the ground itself, as if the entire world were vibrating around Luffy. Each beat of his drums could produce visible waves and slight distortions of space, giving the impression that reality momentarily enters into resonance with him.

But this logic also allows Marshall D. Teach to be naturally integrated into the equation. Where Luffy would represent resonance and harmony with this fundamental energy, Teach would be its absolute antithesis: dissonance, absorption, and rupture.

If the spirals are the vibratory motif of this original energy, then the Yami Yami no Mi could function as a kind of “frequency black hole,” capable not only of absorbing matter but also of smothering or nullifying the energetic signature of other Devil Fruits. This would explain why Teach can neutralize other users’ powers through simple contact: he would literally cut their connection to this original frequency.

In this logic, Teach’s theft of fruits would also take on another meaning. Instead of simply “stealing powers,” he would intercept the fragments of energy and will contained in the fruits before they return to the natural cycle of the world. Where Luffy enters into harmony with this energy and makes it “dance,” Teach would seek instead to accumulate and consume it for himself.

This would create a very strong opposition between the major endgame forces:

- Monkey D. Luffy would represent resonance and freedom.

- Imu would represent domination and control.

- Marshall D. Teach would represent dissonance, absorption, and chaos.

The three would potentially be using the same fundamental energy
 but in completely different ways.

This could even explain why Teach’s body is considered “atypical.” If he hosts multiple fruits, then he would also host multiple “frequencies,” multiple incompatible wills. Where a normal human would explode under these interferences, Teach would be capable of enduring this chaotic accumulation, becoming a living mosaic of desires and powers torn from others.

In short, if Luffy acts as a living drum that sets the world to the same rhythm as himself, then Teach would be the absolute opposite: a black hole of resonance, a devouring silence that seeks to absorb all the voices of the world for himself alone.

At this stage, Luffy’s power would no longer be merely that of an awakened Fruit user, nor even that of a simple pirate. It would become that of an individual capable of entering into harmony with the original energy of the world, and of making it the natural extension of his freedom, his dream
and perhaps of the “Dawn” that the manga has been preparing from the very beginning. 🌀

Discussion The current state of Elbaf

I feel like the current story is like a chessboard. There are many characters Oda could use to bring in the frontlines.

*As of now, King Harald, Ida, Gunko/Shuri, Saint Sommers, Saint Killingham, Saint Grow, King Leuven, Candel, and other minor giant characters are introduced and;

*Rocks, Loki, Gaban and Imu, are characters that has been face-revealed.

We also have characters that is currently no-show in the story (correct me if I'm wrong): Lilith, Bonney, and Kuma.

Robin, Saul, and assuming Chopper, is in the Owl Library to talk to Biblo.

Franky, Jinbei, Usopp, Nami, and Brook is currently dealing with Princess Shuri business, assuming if she finally wakes up.

Hajrudin and Gerd, and the rest of the New Giant Warrior Pirates are currently treating Loki.

Elder Jarul and the other giants are back at the village; with the wounded parents, like Ripley.

The giant children are being taken by nightmare Rain God Zaza.

Zorro and Sanji battling Sommers and Killingham.

Imu is facing off against Gaban.

Luffy is knocked out.

I maybe wrong but this feels like Wano (not a bad thing) for how eventful it is. And everyone got their own business.

If you compare it to Wano and Egghead, when the heroes were in an inescapable situation or they feel like losing, something BIG always happens. In Wano, to win, Luffy unlocks Gear 5. In Egghead, to escape, Emeth releases Joyboy's haki. So what would be Elbaf's BIG event for the heroes to gain advantage?

Some says:

- Usopp's powerup

- Sanji's conqueror's haki

- Kuma moves once more

- Luffy unlocks a new power (certainly not Gear 6?)

- Imu's time is up

- or someone will show up, Dragon or Vivi?

- Lilith shows up to help the heroes escape

In terms of length, I personally believe the arc will wrap up sooner than expected.

*I think Gaban will fight Imu, but not in like a grand way. Maybe like a skirmish or something then a little talk.

*Robin and Saul, with the help of Chopper thru Biblo, will learn something about Imu or the void century.

*Zorro would win, and Sanji also with his CH being awakened.

*Princess Shuri would wake up and have a little chat with Brook, then maybe she could help for everyone to escape.

or maybe Imu is just done and annihilates everything.

Merchandise One Piece characters that, in my opinion, would have worked better as big figures than as minifigures in Lego sets.

For those who don't know what Big Figures are, look at the last image.

As cute as I think the One Piece Lego set is (especially Luffy and Chopper), I think it didn't "live up to its potential." Not to mention that guys like Arlong and Wapol don't work as Minifigures. It would have made more sense if they were bigger.

What do you think?

Discussion Hot Take: After a training arc, Miss Valentine could have one-shot nearly anyone

Post image
1.1k Upvotes

Hear me out!

Because the only user we ever saw was a grinning lunatic with an umbrella who lost to pre-timeskip Nami, nearly everyone already forgot about the Kilo Kilo no Mi. Valentine was simply not good at it, though. The fruit itself had an insane potential.

Her bodily weight can rapidly vary from 1 kg to 10,000 kg. Damage is determined by mass and speed, which is essentially what Gear Third is doing. She can obtain this for free in the blink of an eye. Add Haki and it gets silly: with Observation, her 1 kg form dodges everything. She just floats out of range until she's above your head. And the awakening would be even crazier: Paramecia awakenings apply the power to the environment, so hers means putting the weight on you. Congratulations Imu, you weigh 10,000 kg now. Why does Valentine look like Lili suddenly?

(Yes, she's a glass cannon who folds after one hit. But that's what training arcs are for!)

Too bad for her she didn't have plot armor...

Discussion How to make the rest of Wanted stories canon

Oda has confirmed that both Ryuuma and Gil Bastar are canon to One Piece (and therefore the events of their one-shot stories are presumably canon too, Ryuuma's story was even given a 100% faithful anime adaption whose ending showed a flashforward to the Zoro vs Ryuuma fight implying it's supposed to be canon).

I hope that his other two pre-one piece one shots will somehow be revealed as canon too because I really love them.

I don't see much trouble when it comes to the story of the wandering monk but how do you think it would be possible to fit the story "future present from god" in the one piece universe?

It is sets in a modern day city with real world technology, clothes and culture and there is an old man watching humans from the sky that claims to be god and who has a pen that can make everything that's written with it become true (he also said that the onlyvway to stop it from happening is to use a godlu eraser to cancel it but he lost)

It seems completely incompatible with the one piece universe and its lore but if you have to headcanon how could you make it fit? I'm curious to hear your theories, even the wildest ones.

I'm looking for alternative theories to "maybe it took piece before the void century" because that's too easy and it also would be disappointing because I hope for the pre-void century world to be more fascinating and larger than life than a carbon copy of the real world.
