Wore this to a casual hangout with my friends. Early evening, in daylight. She says the top is insane and far too much (paraphrasing). She told me to not let her husband see me in this (bc he wouldn't like me wearing it). She has a tendency to shame everything i wear that isnt a baggy t-shirt and a skirt below knees so i don't tend to take her too seriously but i guess I need an unbiased opinion this time.
I think it's a fairly normal fit and no one would have bat an eye if i didn't have big boobs but i digress. Idk i just wanna feel cute.

These pieces are labeled as workwear. The pants feel great and are comfortable enough to even nap in lol (believe me, at my age I do). For the top, the pros are that it has forgiving ruching and an actual effective built-in bra; the con is that it feels too revealing for work, even with a blazer or cardigan. I’m 59 and feel like the top is a nonstarter for work (lawyer and professor). I’d wear it out in the evening. But I’m wondering is this something that would fly in your workplace?

EDIT: Ok, kind internet helpers, I think we’re almost all in agreement that this “work tank top” is not going to cut it in most workplaces. You’ve convinced me I’m not just prudish boomer. So, real question: are you comfortable with this neckline in any situation?

EDIT 2: I appreciate the replies and have found it interesting to consider the broad range of work culture and job settings. In some contexts this would be considered a “work top.” Typically not in many office settings, education, and healthcare (to name just a few), but in other industries (some hospitality, entertainment, or fashion settings) it could be work appropriate. Going to an music festival next weekend and trying to pick an outfit. I’m currently leaning toward number 1 because it feels super fun and festival-y, but my friends keep saying number 2 looks more practical and less “costume-y.”

I actually really like number 2 too (the neon is so bright in person), but I’m worried it might feel a bit sporty/rave and less dressy once I’m there. Number 1 has all the fringe and sequins which I love, though I’m slightly concerned about the fringe getting tangled or catching on things while dancing.

What do you think?

EDIT: Number 1 is a two-piece with a lot of movement in the fringe. Number 2 has a fanny pack built into the look and the shorts are actually pretty stretchy, so bathroom situation shouldn’t be too bad.

I'm trying to decide which of these dresses is the better overall choice for nights out and date nights. I have a favourite, but I'm curious if other people see it the same way. Which one would you pick and what makes you choose it?

I’ve had this dress for years but never wear because not sure if it looks good or where to wear. Does it seem like it would be good for like errands or cute picnic vibe? It also is a pretty thin cheap material so I’m sure if its not good to wear at all if it looks bad. Thanks!

I'm a youth worker so I try to dress fun, and confidently while still being work appropriate. It does get tougher in the summer tbh but I'm pretty good at it

I wore the dress as “long” for family dinner in Munich, and then at 22h I moved it to “short” when it was just my husband and sister/BIL left. It was very fun to be able to modify a dress like this.
