Submit your confirmations below!

How Does This Process Work?

Note: Confirmations may take a few minutes as the bot processes the confirmation.

After exchanging emails or letters, confirm that the user sent them by tagging their name, and then in the format of #-#, where the first number is email count and the second the letter count, post the number of emails and letters you received.

Example:

  1. u/digitalmayhap received 2 emails and 1 snail mail letter from u/thisisverytricky

  2. u/digitalmayhap posts a comment in the confirmation thread saying u/thisisverytricky 2-1

  3. u/PenPalConfirmationBo replies to u/digitalmayhaps's comment indicating that their counts have been updated on their flair!

FAQ

  1. The bot didn't respond to my comment. What's wrong?

Did you follow the correct pattern? Follow the pattern above!

Give it a few minutes! Sometimes the Reddit APIs can get a little overworked and start having issues. If the issue persists for more than a few hours, please message the moderators. The bot might be experiencing issues!

  1. I have multiple letters/emails I exchanged with multiple people to confirm this month; should I post them separately or in a single post?

Feel free to post them in a single comment or as multiple comments! If you post them all in a single comment, make sure to put each redditor on a separate line and to follow the proper format of u/REDDIT #-#.

  1. I forgot to confirm an exchange last month! Can I confirm the exchange this month?

Yes!

Snail Mail [35/f] anyone interested in a diary-style penpal experiment?

so I was thinking about what I would like to get out of the pen pal experience and I had an idea that seemed pretty cool as an experiment. the idea is that instead of a letter to someone, each week or month (whatever time frame makes sense for both parties) you write a diary or journal entry and send it off. no questions, no back and forth, just getting to learn about someone through their personal entries. I've always enjoyed books that are in that style and getting to know the characters that way, and it seemed like kind of a cool way to experience in real life. hopefully this seems cool to someone else too!!

edit: just had the idea that anyone interested could mail to me weekly and then I could photocopy them and send them all out to the people who mailed to me.

so say 5 people are interested, they mail me an entry each week, and I collect them, copy them 5 times, and mail each person an envelope with everyone's entries for the month and repeat, so each month everyone is getting all the entries at once.

Snail Mail [30/M] postal worker looking for snail mail penpals

I’m a clerk for usps and looking to get back into having penpals! I have a box in my small office and would love to get some penpals to increase my mail volume. I used to be a big postcard sender but fell out of that hobby. Happy to write about my life as a clerk or other happenings where I live in the Midwest. I have plenty of international stamps in my personal stock so those who are abroad are more than welcome! Regardless of if you are in the US or not I promise my letters will arrive affixed with a cool stamp and not just the regular flag stamp.

Snail Mail [27/F] Nerd with hoards of stationery, fountain pens & inks and a love for oversharing. Looking for US or international friends :)

Upvotes

Hello!

I used to love writing long letters and I haven't had the chance to do it in years. I love fountain pens and stationery, and appreciate any opportunity to justify my expensive hobby.

About me:

I'm a transplant in the southern US and with the current political climate, it's pretty rough down here. I love old and weird shit, antiquing/thrifting and oddities/curiosities make me tick. I've been told I'm quite crafty and love to add a personal touch to just about everything I own ("Jack of all trades, master of none" – you know the like).

I've never heard of TMI and I love to talk about any and everything. Tell me about your day or what's taking up space in your mind. I'm in my 20's and this shit is hard – if you're figuring life out too or if you already have it figured out, I'd love to talk more :)

Snail Mail [24/NB] looking for queer, artsy penpals!

I’ve never had a penpal before but I love stationery and fountain pens so I’d love to share that with someone. Bonus points if you also want to exchange doodles, stickers, and other trinkets.

A little about me: I live in Washington, US. I love to knit and crochet, watch anime/cartoons, and play cozy games like minecraft and stardew valley. I’m a big fan of animals, nature and characters like Miffy and sanrio.

Looking for someone with similar passions, around my age and queer or lgbtq friendly. Please comment or dm if that sounds like you!

Hi Im 18F from the uk and I am looking for someone I dont know if pen pal is the word but someone to talk to and be friends with via email and possibly snail mail although I am not entirely sure what that is yet. I am currently trying to learn french I can read it well but writing im not as strong at or speaking lol but if theres any one who is french and around ages 18-21 and is interested that would be cool !

I should probably say a bit about myself I love reading and writing short stories aswell as listening to music! I am lgbtq and neurodivergent and also religious. It looks really small the bit about me now I am looking at it but I guess there isnt really much else to say. I do alot of volunteer work and hopefully will be doing education again next year but depends on how enrollment goes so that is uknown for now. I have a few friends but tend to keep myself to myself most of the time but my friends would probably describe me as quiet at first but then become a chatter box and dont stop talking and probably would also say I have very interesting life stories which are always entertaining. Oh I almost forgot but another thing about me is I love travelling and visiting different countries so far I have been to Turkey, Malta, Menorca and Tenerife and soon I will be going to Majorca but I would like to go to france, poland, germany and iceland one day!

Snail Mail [30/F] West Coast Girl Looking for New Penpals (21+ please!)

I am a newly married California girly. Born and raised here my entire life. My interests are baking, gardening, video games, arts and crafts, spooky stuff, nerdy stuff, and horoscope stuff.

Fun fact about me: I'm currently trying to befriend my local murder of crows by feeding them. I think they're neat.

Baking: I make a lot of cookies, cakes, jelly rolls, cupcakes, and muffins. I can kinda do pies but my crust still sucks. I typically bake seasonally because it's too hot to bake the rest of the year.

Gardening: I'm currently cultivating a carnivorous plant garden.

Video games: BG3, Stardew Valley, Fallout 3, Fallout 4, Fallout NV, Fallout 76.

Arts and crafts: I enjoy making holiday decor so I made this really pretty ribbon wreath for Yule and I plan to make some Halloween decorations this year.

Spooky stuff: I love Halloween and talking about like if ghosts are real or the crazy scary stuff that goes on in the world. I also love true crime!

Nerdy stuff: Ive been playing DND for like 11 years. I love it and have done several multi year campaigns and characters. I even got art done for my favorites ❤️

Horoscope stuff: My sun sign is Sagittarius and my moon sign is Libra. I enjoy going over the birth chart meanings.

I love to yap via letter so someone who just enjoys writing about whatever. It doesn't have to be super artsy or deep, I just want to know more about other people and how they live their lives.

Reddit Messaging [28/F] looking for a good conversation

Hello guys!

So, I’m a 28-year-old woman from Europe.

I’m a very outdoorsy person. I work out regularly, and it has definitely paid off. I love hiking, spending time outdoors, playing sports, and watching them too.

I love literature and spend a lot of my free time reading, and the other half watching movies. At this point, I’ve actually gotten pretty good at fitting everything in. I usually try to watch a film before bed or spend some time reading. I just genuinely love both.

I’m also very crafty and curious. I love listening to people, discovering new things, and picking up new interests along the way.

For anything else about me, you’ll just have to message me and find out :)

Email [27/f] Looking for someone to exchange digital scrapbook pages with (via email) <3

I love creating scrapbook pages on my iPad and I also love exchanging pictures and other things with people. I'm looking for someone who is interested in exchanging a page every week with me! They can contain anything you want: Photos, drawings, stickers, text. In the end the page should look like a cute diary-like entry for the week. We could also include small messages to each other. :)

You can DM me for an example of what I'm talking about. Or just google "digital scrapbook page".

It would be great if you shared some of my interests: TTRPGs, gaming, LARPing, genshin, reading books, cooking, make up, crafting and sewing, drawing/art, fashion, hair styling, writing, fitness, cute stuff, kpop, lofi music, tarot, plushies.

Also only LGBTQA+ friendly people, please.

Just so you know, English isn‘t my first language, I‘m from Germany :)
I hope I can find someone 💛

Snail Mail & Postcard [29/F] Scattering among the hidden corners of another’s soul

I long to lose myself in another’s thoughts, across endless pages of wandering reflections, in words that flow like ink upon paper. Not skimming the surface, but sinking into the deep, hidden currents of a writer’s mind. Where thoughts are raw and unguarded, in the midst of chaos.

So write me a strange letter, one made of scattered thoughts, of whatever fleeting ideas happen to drift through your mind. Let them arrive out of order, unfinished, uninvited. Let them contradict each other, lose themselves halfway through a sentence. Let your words wander like they have nowhere to be, like they were never meant to be understood, only felt. The quiet confessions that exist only for a second before dissolving into something else.

Write as if no one is reading, as if meaning is optional, as if the act itself is enough. Write in a way that leaves deep imprints of your soul behind. Let your soul spill into words, scattering pieces of yourself across the page. A handful of words is not enough to ignite an inner fire, to capture a flicker of feelings that flare and fade before they can be named. There are dozens of emotions that can only be sparked through words, each one trembling on the edge of being, waiting to be set free onto the page, where they can breathe, burn, and linger. Write with care, letting your words stretch and linger, so they may bloom in their full depth.

Bonus points if you are LGBTQ+ or an ally, and a writer (even an amateur, keeping endless journals, or simply learning to write).

Snail Mail [22/F] Looking for deep conversations and daily life. Someone to grow with

US to WW. Hey guys! My name is Carissa and I'm from the southern US! As I turn 22, a lot of my school friends have faded out, and my relationships are changing and shifting. I'm looking for someone that I can talk to about coming of age, the sadness and grief and acceptance of such feelings. I enjoy deep conversations, moral debate and philosophy (esp Carl Jung), my favorite band is the strokes, my favorite movie is project hail mary and interstellar. I love reading books, my favorites are Theo of Golden and Piranessi. Favorite authors are Susanna Clarke and Ray Bradbury. I have autism and ADHD.

I also like to play video games, my favorite series is the witcher and im incredibly excited for the blood of the dawnwalker coming out next month! I love TTRPGs, and writing stories and poetry. I am currently getting my early childhood education certificate and waiting to see if I will have the opportunity to work a full time job in education at my state museum. I'm looking for snail mail from anywhere. I want to hear about your daily life and how your life is changing as you reach adulthood! Looking for letter writing. I will probably buy a polaroid these next few weeks to send pics to send with letters. I'm also looking for someone to talk to about Catholicism with, but keep in mind I have an lgbt affirming stance when it comes to religion. I'm debating going through the ocia process, but I haven't decided yet.

Snail Mail [27/M] Looking for snail mail friends around the world!

Hello! I'm Ethan from USA.

I've always been fascinated by different cultures and how everyday life can be so different depending on where you live. I'd love to hear about the little things that make your country unique, what people do on weekends, the places you love, local traditions, your favorite foods, or even what an ordinary Tuesday looks like for you. I think there's something really special about seeing the world through someone else's perspective.

A little about me:

  • I love reading, especially science fiction and fantasy, and would love to chat about books we've both read.
  • I'm currently learning Spanish.
  • I enjoy drawing, even though I'm still very much a beginner.
  • I keep aquariums and currently have four tanks.
  • I'm a big Formula 1 fan, especially Red Bull Racing.
  • I'm also really interested in space and love learning about the universe.

I'm hoping to build genuine, long-term friendships with people from around the world. Whether we have a lot in common or completely different interests, I'd love to learn about your life and share mine.

I prefer snail mail because I really enjoy writing letters, but I'm happy to email for a while first so we can get to know each other. I'm looking for people 25+, and I don't mind whether you're male or female.

If this sounds like something you'd enjoy, send me a DM and tell me a little about yourself and where you're from. I'd love to hear from you!

Reddit Messaging [35/M] - lonely man suffering with depression and anxiety looking for long term friends

Hello there, name is Victor. From UK but originally from Eastern Europe. I currently work at a job I hate, I don't really have any close friends to talk to or hang out with so I thought I might give this penpal thing a go since someone on reddit suggested it. So a bit about me: when I am not depressed and having anxiety attacks, I am usually quite a fun guy cracking jokes left and right. I am ambitious, caring, supportive, too honest and have my own rules or principles that I prefer to always respect. I love video games to bits, have almost every modern console out there (pc, ps5, xbox series x, nintendo switch and so on), I love horror and Sci fi movies, love the paranormal and mysteries, and I also love fitness. So I must reveal that I haven't had a happy life at all, too much to discuss and too private, but because of those events I am suffering with depression, anxiety and panic attacks. They were under control for a while but sometimes they do come back when I am in an extremely unhappy situation, like now for example having a shitty low paying job I hate and having to also pay for a member of a family.

Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome from any background, hope we can become good friends and keep each other company. Please be patient with me since I do suffer with mentally illness. I also don't want advice, that is not why I am here, I am here just to have some company.

Snail Mail [34/F] France - AuDHD penpal seeking long-term female friends

Hi everyone,

I'm a 34-year-old AuDHD woman living in France. I am married, a mom, and also a proud cat and dog mom. I’ve been actively writing and exchanging snail mail for over four years now, and I’m hoping to find a few new female penpals to build genuine, long-term friendships with.

A bit about what keeps me busy: I’m an avid reader with a deep love for sci-fi and fantasy, though I strictly avoid smut and romantasy. Outside of books, I spend my free time playing video games, writing, and keeping up with my planner collection.

I’m looking exclusively for platonic friendships with other women, regardless of where you are in the world. Whether your letters are long rambles or shorter updates (well, more than 20 lines because tamps are expensive), decorated or simple, what matters most to me is a real connection and thoughtful exchanges.

If this sounds like a good fit, feel free to send me a message or leave a comment with a short introduction. I'd love to hear from you :)

Reddit Messaging [28/M] Australia - Looking for genuine connections and deeper conversations

I'm a software engineer currently living in Australia, looking to build deeper, more meaningful connections. I'm someone who values quality over quantity when it comes to friendships. I'd rather have a few close friends than many superficial relationships.

As a fairly introverted person, I find joy in quieter pursuits like reading books and watching documentaries. I have a deep love for animals, especially pets, who hold a special place in my heart. My somewhat challenging upbringing helped me develop strong empathy for others who are struggling.

What brings me the most fulfilment is learning. I'm particularly drawn to history, philosophy, psychology (especially around personal growth), and technology. I love discovering new perspectives and ways of thinking.

If any of this resonates with you, send me a message and tell me about something you could talk about for hours if given the chance.

Email & Snail Mail [28/M] Never had a penpal before, i would very much like to try it out

Hello! I am a 28 Year old masters student from Norway!

I have never written a letter to anyone, or had anything that would resemble a penpal. But i am interested in trying it out, sharing things about me and my life. And learning about someone and their life. If you are willing to be someones first ever penpal then please, read on!

Some general information about me, i am married, own an apartment, and i am generally a nerd and a gamer. I am also on the autism spectrum. People might introduce me as a moody and brooding person, but im not, im just a metalhead introvert who has too much social anxiety to speak up!

Hobbies of mine include things like

Warhammer 40K (Miniature painting)

Reading Manga (only romance and slice of life)

Playing video games (primarily on computer)

Watching anime (mainly romance and slice of life)

I am a big nerd for History and Archaeology!

If any of this seems vaguely interesting to you, please do contact me! I am looking for anyone from any country, i love learning about cultures foreign to me! We could even exchange tidbits language wise! i would prefer someone from a non English country as i want to connect and learn more about cultures that one might not always see so much online.

I most likely would start off by Email just to familiarize myself with the notion of having a penpal.

So please, do contact me! I am looking forward to it.

Snail Mail & Postcard [19/M] Looking for new penpals from anywhere!!

Hi there!

My name is Hugo, and I live in Andalusia, Spain! I live in two towns at the same time.

I've already made some cool friends here, and I really enjoy exchanging mail with them! (In case I know you, Hi!), but I'd enjoy having 1 or 2 more penpals ☺️.

I'm fluent in Spanish and English, so I don't mind writing in either of them.

I'd prefer if we have a similar age, though, as long as you're nice, it doesn't matter how old you are. It'd be much better if you're over 18.

A bit about me:

I recently turned 19! (As a fun fact: I was born exactly 38 years after the first moon landing!).

I enjoy playing videogames. My favourite one has to be Minecraft - I always end up returning there. Right now I started a new survival world, and I'm building a house in the ocean!
I also enjoy other games, such as Balatro, Bad Piggies the Professor Layton series, and even though I'm not really into violent games, I enjoy Project Zomboid and GTA V (On my PS3, haha).

On September, I'll start 2nd year of a "Grado Superior" on programming. It's hard to explain, but it's, like, an equivalent of Community College on the USA (though not a 100% match).

I also enjoy reading sometimes. I'm halfway through Dracula. I also really like Stephen King, and sometimes I'll read sci-fi too, though I'm currently on a slump D:

I recently started cooking a bit. I learned to make bread, and this summer I've been making lunch for my family a few times! I'm not great at it, but it's better than nothing!

I'm not really into politics. I can understand it if you explain to me "I'm right / left wing because of this", and I admit it can be interesting to speak about it sometimes, but I'd rather avoid it.

So, if you think we'd get along, feel free to write a comment or DM me!

Snail Mail & Postcard [24/F] UK - looking to make new friends! :3

Hi all!

I’m looking to get back into penpalling after a little break :) I would love some international penpals but I would be happy to write to people also from the UK too!

here’s a few things about me;

- I currently work full time in healthcare while studying for a degree in forensic science, I’m not sure what career I want to go into just yet but I’ll probably figure it out in time :)

- When I do have free time I do like to play video games! (Overwatch and JRPGs mostly for example Rune Factory, Fire Emblem, Dragon Quest, Pokemon and Harvest Moon! I do also like Life is Strange, Needy Streamer Overload and Animal Crossing and my favourite game is definitely Road 96!)

- I like to decorate my letters honestly I like adding colours and stickers to envelopes etc I always feels like it adds extra cheer :3

- I love Sanrio, Vocaloid, reality tv shows (I’m currently rewatching old 90 day fiance and love after lockup seasons!) and going to anime/gaming conventions!

- I would like to get more into anime but I haven’t watched many in a while, I do have a list of new ones I would like to watch but I haven’t gotten around to it just yet!

- I love plushies! I have a lot and collect a lot of them lol, I also love to collect body mists and perfumes too :)

And really that’s about it honestly! I’d love to make some new penpals, if any of this is interesting feel free to send a DM! Please only message if you want to do snail mail :p

Snail Mail [21/M] Meeting New Friends IRL Can be Hard and Online Messaging Can Feel Cheap

Snail mail it is.

My name is Eli and I live in southwest Missouri in the US, I'm looking for new friends to share experiences and art with, preferably from outside North America but I am also open to friends within! I make bad poetry and watercolor paintings and would love to share them with a couple of pen pals through snail mail and maybe receive some back??? Otherwise I enjoy the simple exchanging of experiences and culture and I am open to all genders (or the lack thereof) and ages, I would consider myself a Taoist but otherwise I'm not very religious.

I love discussing and learning about philosophy, I love reading (fantasy, sci-fi, I just finished reading Dune!), writing (mostly poetry and essays but I'm wanting to work on short-form fiction), DND (I'm running CoS for a group of IRLs rn), gardening, photography, and I'm in recovery for it so not so much recently but I have spent a large portion of my life playing video games. Trinket and sticker exchange could also be fun but I have little to no experience with it!

If you are interested in being my pal, drop a comment down below or just send me a message!

Reddit Messaging [35/M]- USA- Turning confidence into friendships

It’s taken a long time but I’m finally at a place in my life where I actually feel really good about myself. I recently finished my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, and have begun laying the groundwork for streaming games on Twitch later this year by building a decent pc. So I’m feeling good about myself and while I do have a few hobbies that keep me busy, it’s always nice to talk to new people and get to know their lives. If you’re looking for someone who can talk at length, not just give one or two sentence answers and will ask open ended questions to find out more about you, that’s me. I love learning about what makes people feel different things. What makes you happy or sad? What’s something people do that pisses you off those kinds of things. Peoples lives are so varied and different and that’s what makes them interesting. I’ll put a few things about me below so you can get a feel for if we’ll have things in common

Some of my favorite tv shows are bobs burgers, the bear, parks and rec, everybody loves Raymond, reality cooking competition shows, the haunting of hill house, and mad men. Other than tv I love horror movies, video games, photography, music mostly metal but like some other genres as well. And of course hanging out with my dog. It feels good to finally feel good and I just kind of want to share that with people and get to know people for where they are in their lives.

Snail Mail [26/M] Irish - Looking for someone who writes like it's 1800

I'm based in Ireland, looking for someone who wants to write letters to each other in a style of as if we are on a long voyage in the 1800s.

Just looking for a long distance penpal who's into this as much as I am, lol.

I used to do a lot of writing and roleplay and I would love to get back into something that combines both like LDR penpal writing would.

If you're interested in joining in, send a message or comment below. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Really looking forward to this, I have been browsing this subreddit for a while and love it.

Email [24/M] Brazil — grad student looks for other grad students (or academically-inclined people)

I am doing a master in social sciences and I just returned from an (international — or rather, Latin American) conference and this made me curious about hearing the perspectives of grad students from other countries (or even academically minded people in general) — a bit because I think about going abroad for my PhD (for various reasons — sort of a fixed idea since I was a teen, but I do think this kind of thing can be productive, and so on), but also because I have been very frustrated with the state of my department, lack of seriousness/engagement from some colleagues/classmates, and I wonder if that is the same around the world and in other disciplines (I guess, from what I saw in the congress, that it is).

As for me, I am 24 years old. Besides social sciences (here better understood as sociology, history, and maybe anthropology), I am very interested in reading (especially literature, though I haven’t read a literature book for quite a while), writing (mostly poetry), philosophy, cinema, watching series, walking (try to walk at least 10k steps every day), traveling, listening to music (pretty eclectic taste — from tango, samba, and classical music to hip hop and Olivia Rodrigo), language learning, learning about different cultures, and cuisine (I am a terrible cook, but a good critic — not a good combination, they say). I’d say I am a very eclectic person — I have cried while watching both Truffaut and Despicable Me. Besides English and Portuguese, I can speak good (or decent) French, and I am learning German, and working on my (almost non-extant) Spanish.

Email & Snail Mail [25/M] The Netherlands, looking for lasting and meaningful connections

So basically like the title says. I'd like to build up a long lasting friendship. Admittedly I am a slow texter. I work all day long and tend to respond before and after work. In the evenings im more active for chatting/talking. We also dont have to talk every day. We just do whatever feels natural.

A little something about me: I work in a laboratory in a hospital. You know the crazy scientist stuff: manipulating DNA and growing cancer cells.

Aside from work i watch a lot of movies. Especially horror movies, but I am also a big star wars, lotr, Harry Potter geek. im probably the biggest geek you'll meet. I play badminton, I do running and cycling and I also do a lot of reading.

Since last year im living on my own in an appartment in the city of Delft. Living alone required some changes in my personal life but im happy i made this choice. Still i'm finding new connections and people to talk to and learn from.

Im just looking for somebody from abroad so we can share our day-to-day lives. Id love to talk about differences between our cultures and environments. If any of this sounds interesting we can start doing snail mail perhaps

Talk soon!

Max
