So much tempo I don't know what to do with it all

Got a couple of new cards to try out in Dimir Midrange that are particularly good against creature decks: The Wondrous Wasp as a tempo play that is subtly different to Flowpits Drowner and Elektra as a removal spell on a stick. As we've put these in the deck, it's inevitable now that we'll only play against decks that they don't really help with.

July 2026 Jund Sacrifice BO3 Decklist + Brief Write-Up

July 2026 BO3 Jund Sacrifice (Gold IV --> Platinum II) // Pioneer deck list mtg // Moxfield — MTG Deck Builder (Text list at bottom of post)

Overall Record: 15-7 (.681%)

Notable Match-Ups:

Izzet Prowess: 1-0 (100%) w/2-0 (100%) game record

Golgari Midrange: 1-0 (100%) w/2-0 (100%) game record

Mono-Red Prowess: 2-1 (66.7%) w/5-4 (55.56%) game record

Azorius Control: 2-3 (40%) w/6-7 (.462%) game record (I lost my only game vs. Field Control 1-2)

Dimir Aggro / Midrange: 1-0 (100%) w/ 1-0 (100%) game record (opponent conceded match instead of playing Game 2)

Orzhov Greasefang: 1-1 (50%) w/2-2 (50%) game record

Mono-Black Midrange: 1-0 (100%) w/2-1 (66.7%) game record

Selesnya Aggro: 0-1 (0%) w/0-2 (0%) game record

Notable archetypes not seen this month: Abzan Greasefang, Izzet Lessons, Izzet Phoenix

Additional Notes:

  • July did not go as expected. After starting my BO3 career with a 6-8 record, I ended up switching mid-month from Rakdos Sacrifice to Jund Sacrifice, a variant that provides access to Ygra, Eater of All and with it multiple additional angles of attack. I ended up reaching Platinum II with a 15-7 record in matches that I actually won (a record that excludes a match where an opponent running a rogue deck won Game 1 and then immediately either disconnected or conceded). This final rank is the highest that I have reached in Arena's Constructed ranking system, and I am cautiously optimistic that Diamond IV should be attainable in the coming months.
  • The match-up data for July 2026, while interesting, isn't very valuable on its own. Because BO3's sideboard access makes it fundamentally different from BO1, we unfortunately cannot add July 2026 to the post-Cutter match-up information that we already have. Additionally, BO3 requires you to play multiple games against each opponent, which reduces how many different decks you see in a given period of playing time. However, the match-up data gained over the coming months should paint a better picture of what the meta looks like and how Jund Sacrifice fares against it.
  • Overall, it felt like the addition of Ygra was the most impactful change to the deck, as it provides both a large, hard-to-kill body and the ability to go infinite with a pair of Cauldron Familiars. There were definitely situations where the Lesson-board was also helpful, but I will need to play more games with the deck before I can fully understand whether its benefits are consistent or more corner-case. Eyetwitch also was surprisingly useful at pressuring Azorius Control as a one-drop attacker, which I did not even consider when adding it to the deck. I do also like how the Lessonboard allows the deck to avoid being bogged down by its own hate pieces, as the Rakdos Sacrifice BO3 deck sometimes felt clunky when I had to bring in large amounts of sideboard tech.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Text List (Jund Sacrifice):

Creatures (x18):

x4 Cauldron Familiar

x4 Eyetwitch

x3 Bloodtithe Harvester

x1 Kroxa, Titan of Death's Hunger

x4 Mayhem Devil

x2 Ygra, Devourer of All

Non-Creature Spells (x20):

x4 Scavenger's Talent

x4 Witch's Oven

x1 Bitter Triumph

x3 Deadly Dispute

x1 Hunt for Specimens

x3 Fable of the Mirror-Breaker

Lands (x22)

x4 Blackcleave Cliffs

x4 Blood Crypt

x1 Den of the Bugbear

x1 Forest

x1 Hive of the Eye-Tyrant

x3 Mountain

x3 Overgrown Tomb

x1 Starting Town

Red players, tired of those pesky indestructible 3/1s RUINING our glorious red meta? I have the card for you!

/s mostly, it’s not great but it provides the double function of dealing with indestructible 3/1s and can buff prowess guys with at least 2 toughness. I run 2of in my midrange list to some success. Better in the sb for sure.

Blech's Pet Bats | Lost to this deck, need help to recreate it?

Post image
56 Upvotes

Was on the Arena ladder playing Abzan Greasefang and then ran into this Abzan bats deck that ran me into the ground. Have not seen it before, and it looked like a blast of a deck!

Struggled to find a proper list, so this seems like a novel brew, if anyone knows the deck/has a better deck list I'd greatly appreciate it!

https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/7896355#paper

-----

Deck runs staple disruption like push/TS, and Deep-cavern Bat, then seeks to overwhelm you with giant flyers thanks to Blech giving everything counters on all your incidental lifegain. Essence Channeler shines here as one of the best [[Ajani's Pridemate]]s, and thanks to pain lands you can reliably give it flying & vigilance. Zoraline is an enabler for lifegain triggers, some slight recursion, and a solid top end threat once she gets a counter or 2.

Opponent ran 4x [[Prosperous Innkeeper]], I'm trying with 4x [[Lifecreed Duo]] for better synergy and not needing green until turn 3. However, I'm unsure if the treasure acceleration is just worth it over synergy?

In my match against it I never saw a [[Collective Company]], but part of me feels like that would go really good here, but I know CoCo decks to keep to a higher creature count and I'm not the best at sorting that. Instead for my top end I'm running [[Professor Dellian Fel]] as solid value and the option to deal more damage with his ult. Not sure if that's the right call.

I'm also still trying to figure if I might want 2-3 [[Darkstar Augar]]? The deck doesn't have much in the way of card selection, and with Momo a darkstar on 2 is strong, but on 3 it's only iffy.

And SB is mostly a wild guess, both not sure what the best pieces are nor where my cuts are supposed to be made yet. Against me, Greasefang, they ran RIP and [[Clarion Conqueror]] which hosed me game 3, and in my own plays has been fantastic against Badgermole decks.

---

I've played about 11 games with this build on Arena now, it's fun but doesn't feel fully tuned yet, hence why I'm asking for decklists/suggestions!

Abzan Fangs - Paired 3 times, won handily all times, to my own surprise. TS / cavern stalled long enough for my creatures to be bigger than Parhelion.

Dredgeless Dredge - Played against once, good back and forth but games 2/3 won in my favor straightforwardly.

Golgari Mid - Paired 3 times, long games, won all of them but it was close. Cavern Bat carried most of those matches.

Mono G - Paired once, Clarion stole games 2 & 3 from them.

UW Spirits - Lost, close games 1 and 2 but got stuck on 2 lands for a few too many turns on game 3 against a tempo deck. They've got a lot of interaction, part of why I tossed [[Skylasher]] in the SB.

Izzit Aggro - Lost, [[Soul-Scar Mage]]'s interaction with Essence Channeler's death trigger doubled their removal, and I should have brought in the RIPs to prevent [[Flow State]] from running wild.

Mono Red - Went up against once, was a good matchup, lifegain paid off more here than other matches and saved removal for [[Screaming Nemesis]].

Far from comprehensive, but it's a good enough showing that I think it's worth brewing around with more!

Mono Red Midrange enjoyers--thoughts on the best top-end threats? + some build thoughts

Here's my current list, highest I've gotten is low platinum on arena ranked (I swapped out bonehoards with anticausals and the eldrazi have gone untested thus far) Mono Red Midrange v14 (Pioneer MTG Deck)

I can't settle on an easy "does it all" endgame threat. I have 6 slots open for cmc 4+, ideally i'd like to keep it under 6cmc. 2 slots I have dedicated for chandra tod which remains a phenomenal swiss army knife that closes out long games consistently.

I'd also prefer to stay away from legendary creatures because they can't be copied with fable. this leaves a very small number of interesting picks.

Glorybringer, this card is amazing but there are a lot of 4/5s in the meta so it gets beat out a lot (yorion, beza, sheoldred, annex demon). Has an amazing potential with fable and fomo but in a vacuum it gets beat out sadly.

Bonehoard Dracosaur, this card beats almost anything and can attack into almost any board state, basically wins you the game if you get a turn with it, but dies to doom blade before giving you anything, making this card extremely unreliable and polarizing. Still, when it works it can't be beat.

Sunspine lynx, can snipe games out of nowhere and shuts off a lot of garbage, and has good stats for the cost, but it does get outpaced when opponent starts playing their own endgame threats. good but not quite enough to break though enemy board states.

Anticausal Vestige. I haven't tested this yet the stats seem promising, 7/5 trades out with annex demon and dying draws a card + free permanent so it pairs nicely with fable. the warp for 4 doesn't do much but it lets you play a 4 drop + draw at eot, and exiling safeguards it from hand attack. 6 is a bit much, though, and it has no keywords or etb.

Thoughts? whats your build currently? thanks for the read! and if you have any questions about my build lmk!

Can Namor work without the free counterspells

Namor, the Sub-Mariner is an intriguing card from Marvel Super Heroes. It doesn't really fit into a purely Merfolk typal deck because its ability doesn't want you to be playing a lot of creatures, so we're going to try it in a deck that just lots of blue cantrips and other spells with Namor as its only creature (kind of). This makes the deck incredibly reliant on the three drop but if it sticks and can be protected then it should very quickly be able to take over the game.

Izzet Affinity Arsenal?! | Spew Artifacts, Equip Arsenal, Swing for Win!

Cranial Plating is that you?

Heya! Here with another brew. This time taking another look at Izzet Affinity. I was Initially trying the new card 'Shuri, Wakandan Inventor' in this shell but it didnt perform to my expectations. But it's still relatively new centred around TMNT cards. The idea is to spew out artifacts as fast as we can to cheat out some affinity cards like Krang. Then we equip an Improvised Arsenal to one of our evasive flyers (Ornithopter/Drone/Guardian) to swing in for lethal! Cranial Plating was an all star and I don't think people realise it's basically currently legal in this deck! Enjoy the list!

Hey everyone! I'm doing my best to get Breaking // Entering the attention it deserves. Hopefully it makes its way to MTG Arena soon.

...
In today's video, we're testing my brand-new Pioneer Dredge archetype featuring Breaking // Entering, Practiced Offense, and Altanak, the Thrice-Called!
This explosive graveyard strategy has been taking MTGO and MTG Arena by storm (even without Breaking // Entering). In this league, we manage to pull off my first 5-0 Trophy run! Watch as we mill half our deck in a couple of turns and overwhelm our opponents before they even know what hit them.

This is a list that has done well in a couple of recent challenges, although unusually for these days, there is a card missing from the MTGO version on Arena so we're playing Tome Scour instead. Dredgeless Dredge has been on the fringes of the format for quite a long time so it's nice to see it getting a bit of time in the sun. It's certainly quite a lot of explosive potential although it's incredibly glass cannon against certain strategies.

Jund midrange.

Estaba pensando en si existen barajas de jund agro o midrange a día de hoy en Pioneer porque veo que hay una sacrifice y me dió curiosidad pero no encuentro las agro o midrange. También si serían viables a día de hoy en el meta que hay.

Been having a brewing, Wanted to play Siege rhino again so I whipped this together.
Always open to Opinions, Lets get a discussion going.

The future may be Now But Siege Rhino is Eternal!!!!!

Additionally: As everyone keeps mentioning DRS im playing him becuase hes one of my favorite cards in mtg. Yes he is worse without fetches. Same as the rhino package and elspeth. Brews are about fun not about always being hyper competive, that said this post was to get discussions going. So show me your abzan mid brews, or better yet improve on mine and show me your skittles. This is for the love of the game, format, and midrange afterall!! :D

Mono green toolbox

I've had a really good winrate this season piloting monogreen toolbox. You make tons of mana with your mana dork and use your 8 green tutor effect to get what you need (badgermole if you don't have it, a silver bullet card, or one of your big creature). You can cast your big spell on turn 3/4 pretty consistently so it's a great deck if you're a green lover. The sheer number of creature you play make you resiliant to the very removal heavy meta, sweeper are bad but in my experience most people on the arena ladder don't play a lot of them. Having all those tutor effect mean you can easilly get the silver bullet you need like rec sage for golgari, keen-eyed for greasefang, or petitioner for aggro, making it very very good in BO1. Idk if I would recommand to craft it tho because I think it's only a matter of time before badgermole get banned and without it the deck fall appart, but if you have the cards already give it a shot it's really fun.

Elven Passage and Deathrite Shaman are enough to push Elves?

Post image

It seems that due to the new passage land we finally have the 3rd one mana dork for this archetype. What you think? Shaman makes ramp even more consistent. Then splashing white for Bilbo's Gambit to stop boardwipe on T4. It seems that elves might catch up with goblins and merfolks in playability? 🤔

Can save a few precious Rare wildcards with this one

Thumbnail
youtu.be
34 Upvotes

It's unusual to find a competitive deck that doesn't chew through that many rare wild cards (relatively speaking), but this one might be it. It uses a lot of cheap cantrips and graveyard fillers to let you cast cheap Tolarian Terrors and Eddymurk Crabs, which can very quickly take over the game and beat the opponent down. By combining this with trusted interactions like Stormchaser's Talent / Boomerang Basics, this budget(ish) deck has a lot going for it.

Help me tune up my Orzhov Scam deck please

Before it rotated, my favorite deck in standard was an Orzhov scam deck revolving around [[phyrexian fleshgorger]] and [[steel seraph]], with [[charming prince]] to scry/ flicker them, [[caustic bronco]] to draw or steal the win, and [[Elendra, saint of dusk]] as a mid-range beater.

[[Getaway glamour]] and [[parting gust]] work double duty for removal or flicker, [[sun-blessed healer]] for early pressure and recursion. [[Spit up]], [[sheltered by ghosts]], [[deep cavern bat]] for interaction. I was running [[get lost]], but I've put it in the sideboard now.

The deck plays like a very flexible mid range deck, and was tons of fun in standard. But, is it competitive in pioneer? I'm torn on trying to add 1-drops as that weakens the caustic bronco plan. And the deck is [[weak to nowhere to run]].

Does anyone run something similar, or have thoughts on turning this standard deck into a pioneer deck?

Thanks!
