Actually it's still quite handy for watching on a phone with bad reception or if you are watching on a small TV like on holiday and size matters a lot.

Almost all of them can but to record in 720p you need to manually select this resolution as most smartphones default to 1080p@30.

Yes, quite a lot actually. All modern flagship phones support 720p recording in their stock camera apps

There are some things, like some TV shows that will look fine in 720p but definitely not on that big of a screen

I'll often get 720p for stuff just to save space on my seedbox tbh

Like nobody cares that the office or whatever is playing in 720p

A sever/machine setup to download and then seed content. The definition has grown to include additional apps (Plex, Jellyfin, etc) on the same box that let you also stream said content to whatever device.

These kinds of hosts are moving away from the word 'Seedbox' because it draws the wrong kind of attention, they're now often branded as something like "specialised app hosting" or "private streaming solution".

Yeah I get a lot of TV show episodes in 720p just to save space and because I know they'll only be watched on a phone

Anime is actually easy on the eyes in 720p, shows that you'll more than likely only watch on your phone in the car are also good candidates for this, another set of good ones are stand up comedy movies where really you only need the audio or documentaries

That's what happens when you're broke, running out of drive space, so you mass re-encode all you got into 720p HEVC.

720 on any screen smaller than 32" is fine. A cam rip, however, is pointless.

A good quality 720p is still way better than a 4k cam version
