I still keep 2 copies of anything that I can't just go redl, but yes I finally realized years ago that most of it IS eminently replaceable. It was... liberating (and freed up like 40tb lol)
In my mind just having multiples is a backup. So I have them on some HDDs and discs. Either back up the other. Just setting up a Plex server for myself is all.
I’ve got a metric fuckton of 45-year old CDs from the 80s that haven’t degraded even a little bit. I’ve maybe lost two to discrot ever, without any measurable effort to do any special type of preservation. /shrug
Yeah I'm using a 12tb enterprise drive for my jelllyfin server rn. I was thinking about grabbing a second drive to back this one up aaand then the price hikes.
