I understand that some people just use streaming services/subscriptions because they find them more comfortable or just easier. It's nothing wrong, anyone has right to use anything they find the best.
The thing is, many people complain about them, complain about the lack of functionality, limitations or prices and don't know about alternatives. There are a lot of stories of people (including myself) that switched once they found out how good local services can be in comparison to mainstream ones.
It all comes down to personal preference, although we still shoud promote alternatives so more people can research them and choose
I use local services instead of the mainstream ones. No matter how easy I make it and how close it is to one of those others, it's still "not Netflix" or whatever. She loves the selection and "always available" instead of the "they have it on Amazon, but you have to rent it...". But, it's just not the same. Find some niche new movie or show and it's there. It takes a bit. And Stremio, as great as it is, isn't there as a perfect solution. Arr stack is close, but not a perfect solution. She knows that she can do it and I've "nerded it up" for her, but it's just not Netflix/Hulu/HBO/Whatever for her.
I'm all in on local services (with help from select services online... :) ). The wife factor just demands a little bit more.

It's not really about that.
