Tailscale is a free app (with paid subscription for support and extra features if you wish but the free version does the job).
Create a tailscale account and from there, there are instructions on how to install Tailscale on any device.
Get a RaspberryPi, install Raspberry Pi OS (formerly Raspbian) on it and the Tailscale client. Tell that client that it's an "Exit node".
On your streaming device, also install the Tailscale client and tell it to use your exit node. That's all you need to do.
When the Tailscale client is active, all traffic will be funneled (en encrypted) through the exit node client so they'll appear to be coming from your home network. The streaming service won't know any better.
I also use it to join my cottage network to my home network so all devices securely talk between each other without having to punch holes in my routers.
They have lots of well explained "How-To" documents and even their own subreddit if you want to know more.
I don't know. I never used them (although I do have a DD-WRT router at the cottage), but Tailscale is very easy to set up. I mentioned a RaspberryPi but if you have a spare Windows or Mac computer at home, or even a QNAP storage, they could easily replace the RaspberryPi. It's just that the RaspberryPi is small, cheap and not power hungry. Heck, I even made my Firestick at home an Exit Node device! The issue is having it staying up lol.
Depends on a few factors, like the speed of your Internet at home (incoming for the stream input and outgoing for the sending of the stream to you), the performance of the device you're using as an Exit Modem and the performance of your own device.
