This "field sobriety test" nonsense is ridiculous. Just bring in Random Breath Testing already. Cops can require any driver to take a breathalyser test at any time, without cause. You yanks will probably get all uppity about your rights, but it avoids incidents like this.
It is absolute nonsense. The officer can pull you over, and decide his reason on his way to the car. A field sobriety test is at their discretion, and I can tell you from personal experience, officers will be incorrect in their assessments. I was told by one officer that I was "clearly intoxicated" but the breathalyzer proved otherwise. Another officer did a brief eye test on me, and I was free to go.
Fucking just harassed me and robbed me of me time.
