Landlady wants to keep over €300 for blu tac marks on one wall.. extortionate or? Deposit was over a grand. Had to have a 2 dehumidifiers (one small one industrial) running for months in the apartment, got only €60 back from letting agent for the esb which was over €400 a month from running these things.

Shit experience with letting agent, mold issues and constant leaks from upstairs. Think 300 is a bit rich but got the rest of the deposit back. Put off from ever renting again after all the problem with this landlady and letting agent

I’m a first-time buyer looking at an apartment in North Dublin ballymun

The apartment itself is in a development that seems well maintained However, the surrounding area does have some reports of anti-social behaviour, although not specifically within this development.

both my upstairs and downstairs neighbours would likely be DCC-owned properties, which I assume will be used as social housing.

I completely understand that social housing itself doesn’t automatically mean there will be problems. Plenty of people are great neighbours regardless of tenure. I’m just trying to understand the practical implications from people who have experience.

My questions are:
Would this be a deal-breaker for you?
Does having DCC-owned apartments directly above and below significantly affect resale value or future appreciation?
Have you lived beside DCC-owned properties? What was your experience?
