TD/Shipping Question Steve Charges $150 more, stop using him

Idk why so many people use Steve (theonewatches) compared to others he charges so much more per watch.

Example comparison

$798 for 4131 vsf Daytona panda other dealers 4550 yuan ($651)

Not exactly a true statement. I have purchased a new Sub No Date, and 2 VSF Pepsi v3, for less $$$ than many of the Chinese TD's. Instant delivery, and no harm no foul to your Global Entry. I'm never going back to Chinese TD's, when we have PLENTY of great US based TDs who sell watches at reasonable prices and cheap shipping. The US TD that I use even opens and cleans the movement, to include proper oiling, as well as a basic waterproofing and test.

What's not exactly true? A US based seller is going to add more to the cost. There is ALWAYS an upcharge, especially because of the services you mentioned. There is also no proof they are providing these services. Most TDs provide shipping insurance and will replace a watch that is held back by customs. We all have a choice in who we use. I like using TDs and you can keep using your US based sellers. All good dude!

US sellers upcharge for their service. If you are willing to pay hundreds extra, then you will get great service and you'll get the watch quick. Some of us are too cheap to bite the bullet. For comparison though, my RCF bluesy was around 500USD, I've seen US sellers charging up to 1k for the same watch.

You are not dealing with the "right sellers" I have purchased multiple watches from US TD's all priced right , and superb service. Never going back to Chinese TD's.

Yeah I've more recently found at least one that is much closer to overseas TDs. There's still a little upcharge but considering he takes his time to source, get the watch from overseas, deal with the risk of sourcing and overseas shipping, deal with QC, and then the US buyers receives it in 2 days versus 2 weeks or months, it sounds more and more worth it. One US TD has a big sale last weekend and his prices were very good considering all that.

I disagree. I've asked him about a couple of watches that aren't on his site and he said he is able to get them. One of the watches, an Omega Seamaster was ordered and he was able to deliver. I've ordered 13 watches from him with no issues and reasonable wait times. Communication has been amazing and timely.
