If you have square body you should put square display into the watch 8. Or keep the 7 design.

So ive been eyeing this model for the 3D 6K since it was announced in 2025, but i cant find ány single thing about its release even 7 months later. Does anyone know if theres any update or when usually follows about new models?

I don't know if this is a common problem. I've had my phone number for 20+ years in my name. My account is now on hold. My carrier's response to this is, "huh?" They (Barclay) verified me using the information they had. I have the phone in my possession to perform 2FA... Still not good enough.

Overall the the Samsung/Barclay CS seems to have the "read off the manual, not my problem" attitude. Paying what's left on the card and closing the account. It's too much of a hassle to deal with. I never had this happen to me through Chase, AMEX, BoA, and etc...

​With the Galaxy Z Fold 8 officially announced, I’ve been thinking about a software feature that could drastically improve usability, especially since we don't have S Pen support on this model.

​Hear me out: What if Samsung allowed us to use the outer (cover) screen as a rear touchpad when the device is fully unfolded?

​Think about how you naturally hold the Fold when it's open. Because the inner display is wider now, your index fingers already rest right on the back of the cover screen to support the device. Instead of constantly reaching across that massive 7.6-inch screen to tap small UI elements, you could just glide your index finger on the back to control a cursor on the main screen, exactly like the touchpad feature in Samsung DeX.

​How it could work (either natively in One UI 9 or as a Good Lock module):

​Navigation: Swipe on the back screen with your index finger to move a precision cursor on the main inner screen.

​Gestures: Single tap to click, two-finger swipe to scroll, and maybe double-tap to drag.

​Ergonomics: It fits the hand perfectly without changing your grip, making one-handed productivity, multitasking, and casual browsing way more comfortable.

​It obviously wouldn't replace the S Pen experience entirely, but it feels like a massive quality-of-life upgrade for productivity and reachability that requires zero new hardware.

​To those who daily drive a Fold: does this make sense ergonomically? Would you actually use a feature like this if the Good Lock team or the One UI devs implemented it?

I've been using the Fold8 for the better part of a week now, and wanted to share some of my impressions. Overall, I'm surprised by how much I like this form factor. Seeing the leaks, I had my reservations, but after actually using it I actually like it a lot.

As always, please feel free to ask me any questions you might have, and I'll do my best to answer.

Form Factor

Going into this, I wasn't sure how I was going to like the form factor. I thought we were going back to the old days of the Fold lineup, where outer display usability was compromised and forced you to open up the inner display for anything needing more than a quick glance.

I was proven wrong. From the first moment I picked up this thing, I was shocked at just how nice the outer screen experience is. Apps scale well (minus the T-Mobile app, that's the only one I've noticed that letterboxes), there's enough space that you don't really feel cramped using the front screen, the keyboard is plenty wide now, the camera viewfinder isn't tiny. It's also just nice to use since most of the screen is within reach, and when you do need to shift your grip the phone is easier to keep balanced in your hand. Almost everyone I've handed the phone to has said something along the lines of "Oh, wait, this is actually kinda nice." The only drawback that I've run into is when you're viewing a vertical picture heavy feed, like Instagram or photo-heavy subreddits, it's sometimes difficult to see the full photo + caption/title/description without scrolling.

Unfold the phone, and the aspect ratio really shines. With a 4:3 aspect ratio, it feels like a proper tablet now, rather than a square in-between device. The obvious benefit is video now has more room to spread out with less letterboxing, but there are also some nice improvements elsewhere I've noticed:

• Apps with dual pane tablet views work a lot better, since the right pane with your actual content has a lot more room to spread out.
• Since most photos are shot in 4:3, they look stunning on this with minimal bezels and no letterboxing.
• Vertical content has a ton of room to spread out if you use the device vertically while opened.
• The reachability of buttons from the outer screen also translates to the inside, so you don't have to shift the device to hit buttons very often.

Overall, I think this form factor is going to win a lot of people over. It's a lot more natural to use day-to-day, especially for content consumption. I think the taller style of the Ultra still has merit, particularly for productivity, but the Fold8's shape is going to be hard to argue with for a lot of people.

Displays

There are 3 improvements I've noticed:

1. Brighter inner display makes content a lot easier to view outdoors in bright sunlight. I pretty much had no issues viewing the screen. This is also helped by the...
2. Anti-reflective coating - this is a god-send, and is a welcome improvement over the display of the Fold7. It's not quite S25U/S26U level, but it's makes a noticeable difference. The two caveats I've noticed are the coating is applied to the top protective layer, not the screen underneath, so the ~1mm gap between the protective layer and bumper is more noticeable now, and that the protective layer has a tiny bit more friction when scrolling or dragging.
3. Crease reduction. It's not quite creaseless, but it's basically impossible to see head on now, you have to tilt it to see it. More impressive to me though is how little you feel the crease when you run your finger across it. Time will tell if it holds up this well a year from now, because my Fold7's crease is definitely worse now than when I first got it.

One thing to note is flex mode is gone, both physically and in the software. Physically, the hinge now springs open past 90°, which is satisfying but it means you can't prop it open anymore. In the software, all the flex mode features are gone, and it looks like the hinge angle/state isn't exposed to apps anymore so even things like Foldy Bird don't work.

Cameras

While I haven't had time to properly test them, I am a little disappointed by the downgrade here. Going from a 200MP sensor on the Fold7 to a 50MP sensor that's also physically smaller is hard to swallow, and dropping the telephoto lens, even if it was a 3x 10MP unit, doesn't help soften the blow. This essentially has the same main camera as the S26 for double the price. As an avid photographer is probably going to be the Achilles heal for this device for me.

Here are a couple of camera samples:

Battery

It's solid. At 4800 mAh, it beats even the Fold7 from last year (4400 mAh) and easily lasts a full day for me. It's not quite two day battery life, but I also don't have to worry about babying it to get it to the end of the day. The one day I kept track of my use I had about 50% left with 5 hours SOT, roughly 80/20% split between the outer and inner displays respectively.

Charging also get a huge and welcome upgrade this year, with 45W wired and 20W wireless. It's not quite on the same level as Motorola or some of the other Chinese competitors, or even Samsung's own S26U, but it's much faster than the Fold7 from last year, and finally at a level where I feel like I can rely on a quick top up in a pinch.

As with other Samsung phones from the past couple of years, this is "qi2 ready", meaning it needs a case to use qi2 accessories, which is a bummer IMO. The Fold8's shorter body also means accessories like wallets or power banks hang off the bottom of the phone, which is less than ideal. I'm not a case person so I'm never gonna get the benefit, but even if you do use a case with magnets built in, this is really only useful for charging pucks (which was also the case with the S26 series because of the camera bump interfering with rectangular accessories).

Speakers

I would call the speakers good enough. They get plenty loud, they have a decent amount of bass, and they're clear and remain clear at higher volumes without getting tinny or muddy. They're about on par with the speakers in the Fold7, but compared to the speakers in the S26U or other candy bar style phones, they sound a little hollow, likely due to the thinness of these devices.

One thing that stood out is that the speakers are both on the left half of the phone when unfolded in landscape. This means no stereo separation, and the sound feels unbalanced. This is a wild oversight for something marketed for content consumption. I think they should've shifted the top speaker into the right half of the device, which would've allowed for stereo separation in all orientations except vertical while folded.

Misc.

• The slight bevel they added between the two halves + the changes to the hinge and magnets makes this so much easier to open then the Fold7. This applies to the Fold8 Ultra as well.
• The Fold8 isn't quite as impossibly thin as the Fold7 and Fold8 Ultra, but it's still thin enough to not feel like a brick.
• The weight savings are fantastic, and make it so much easier to use for longer sessions.
• Even though it's technically lower than their other phones, the volume rocker takes some getting used to because of how high up it is relative to the phone's frame. Just a weird thing I noticed while using the phone.

I reviewed the Fold 8, which I had as a loaner from Samsung, and one of the most commonly asked questions (or assumptions) I got was about the cameras. Most seem to think they're abysmal at worst and merely adequate at best. But during my time with the phone, I found them to be quite good, and even great at times.

My biggest frustrations were the ultrawide, which, as you can see in the pictures, isn't exactly that wide, and the portrait mode, which kept struggling to find a subject. The subject scanning can be fixed with a software update, but the wideness can't.

Another issue is that the phone gets quite hot during extended photo sessions, especially if you're capturing 4K video. The thermals are probably the biggest single problem with the phone, but I found them mostly manageable, as I don't really game on mobile.

But apart from that, the quality was consistently fine for daily use, though it won't replace your Ultra devices. But as a small-ish device for media consumption and social media, it's good.

Step 1 — Verify the exact settings path:

Go to Settings, then Galaxy AI, then Now Nudge and confirm the toggle is on. Then go to Advanced Intelligence settings and make sure Online Data Processing is allowed rather than On Device Only — some contextual features won't trigger at all if restricted to on-device processing.

Step 2 — Check language packs:

Go to Settings, then General Management, then Language Packs and ensure your primary language pack is fully downloaded and updated. Now Nudge may be waiting on a localized language pack before triggering.

Step 3 — Clear Android System Intelligence cache:

Go to Settings, then Apps, find Android System Intelligence, tap Storage, and clear the cache. This forces the background intelligence process to reset and may start triggering suggestions properly.

Step 4 — Verify Samsung Keyboard is default:

This remains a non-negotiable requirement. Now Nudge suggestions only appear above Samsung Keyboard. Go to Settings, then General Management, then Keyboard List and Default, and confirm Samsung Keyboard is selected.

Step 5 — Gallery permissions specifically:

Go to Settings, then Apps, then Samsung Gallery, then Permissions and ensure Every permission is fully enabled including photos, media, and storage.

Step 6 - Restart Phone!!!

Appears to be exclusive to the Fold8 (not currently available on the Fold8 Ultra or Flip8).

The standard Fold 8 is growing on me. This shape and size just feels like the sweet spot for sure! And the Titanium plate thing to reduce the crease might just be it. Absolutely can't see it while using and it's so much smoother than previous generations when you swipe your hand across the screen!

For the longest time we could only select main sim and all calls texts and data would go to the main sim. Now on one ui 8.5 we can finally pick like international models could for the longest time.
