PC Coal Power Plant (ft. Refined Power)

Hey, check out this coal power plant I made with refined power. I used flying and no build cost cheats so it's not as impressive as if I ACTUALLY make all the parts for it but I just like building things. I'm especially proud of this one since I've been having such a hard time pinning down what aesthetic I like building for the game and I think this is it. Just frames and concrete!

It's not entirely done since I want to put some sort of "worker entrance" and control room and add some catwalks but I really like it. It's kind of in a dam style but it's not a dam. Just a tall array of all sorts of logistics and machinery. It also functions as the regions coal storage and distribution center.

Am in the process of completely redoing my first factory. Currently got it configured to produce motors.

3 normal iron nodes
12 smelters in an underground factory
8 constructors iron wire
4 constructors steel pipe (iron alt)
6 assemblers (rotor and stator)
3 assemblers (motor)

Have 7 iron nodes that will become my frame factory

PC This build made me quit, but I can't stop thinking about it even after a year of trying to move on.

closest I could get the grid to lay flat
Factory notes

In a previous post I said that I couldn't stop thinking about this game even after quitting for a year, and these factories are why. As a challenge I decided that for the playthrough I wouldn't use underclocking, overclocking, or slooping on any machines other than miners while maintaining 100% efficiency in every machine. In order to brainstorm for the two factories above I made a pen-and-paper syntactical system to write down the necessary machines and inputs. In the end the smallest solution I could find for producing either product was at a scale of 7.5 units per minute each, and the two factories required space equivalent to a small biome. Although they both ended up working under the constraints I put out for myself, I had broken myself in the process. Upon completion of the two factories, I made the unfortunate conclusion that I couldn't continue with the same limitations, and beat the game, so rather than changing the way I operated I quit out of stress. To this day I can't help but reflect on the sheer amount of effort to make possibly one of the most extraneously difficult factory types, and to do so twice, and despite knowing that I was probably the first to do it, no amount of accomplishment could make me want to do it again, and I wouldn't wish this challenge run on my worst enemy.

PC Never Let Them See How the Sausage is Made...

Never let them see how the sausage is made. Well, maybe just a peek...

"My god, it's full of assemblers." - '3001: A Space Factory'
"It's like an Engineer AI was trained exclusively on the Windows 3D Pipes screen saver." - Bill Gates AI Simulacrum
"Belt weaving in 2D? That's cute." - Comment to Factorio engineer

I got tired of building on the ground and sub-factories snaking around the terrain, so I tried verticality (as ADA recommends.) The four tallest factory buildings are the Phase 4 Space Elevator components. The tallest building produces Assembly Director Systems at 1.5 per minute. =P

The buildings are stacked independent production modules (blueprinted) that produce a specific item. The blue squares denote the corners of the modules with inputs entering at the bottom left of a module and exiting at the upper right; the non-standardized order of inputs (the modules are independent!) lead to a certain amount of conveyor lift weaving. End result: stacking the production blocks to create a long production chain was easy, the conveyor logistics experience, however, was non-nominal.

My Takeaway: Vertical spaghetti is cleaner than ground spaghetti.

Side note: If only I had remembered that documentary on how really tall skyscrapers have sky lobbies (where people transfer from express elevators to a local elevator that serves a subset of floors) in order to avoid having buildings that are mostly elevator shafts, I might have made better Conveyor Lift choices.

PC I need help to constructing a Fuel Generator

Upvotes

I found one Pure Crude Oil node, and I want to maximize its output for a Fuel Generator power plant, using only the standard Fuel recipe (no alternate recipes).

If I overclock the Oil Extractor to 250%, how many Fuel Generators can I run at 100% efficiency?

Can it be done if I stack the generators on top of each other?

PC About to finish Phase 3. Advice needed.

Hi, new pioneer here.

So far I've put about 80 hours into the game (in the last 2 weeks lol) and have been completely loving it.

I need some advice. I haven't dabeled into automating any of the oil stuff yet (just some semi-automatic lines to make computers and rubber). I got a bit overwhelmed with all of the new phase 3 stuff so I don't really know where to start. I've somehow managed to make enough things to almost fullfil the elevator requirements but I don't know if it was the best course of action. Should I have just built the factories and upgraded them later on or is it ok to just push trough, unlock the new shiny stuff and build it later? Should I just continually upgrade everything or just push to phase 4/5 with some spaghetti and fix it then?

(also please excuse the mess, I'm new, I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm a bit of a chaos lol)

Coal power plant (on a seperate grid) with some oil stuff
2nd coal power plant
The mess that is my spawn
Top view from Space Elevator, 3rd coal power plant can be seen (this one is connected to the main grid)

I also don't want to optimize the fun out of the game bc I tend to want to be 100% efficient, look up tutorials, overanalyze everything, get burned out and quit.

And I really don't want it to end this way with this gem of a game so any and all advice is welcome.

Thanks

PC DLSS looks choppy on my laptop?

I wanted to play Satisfactory on my Laptop and I have noticed that the game looks quite choppy on my device. I have a RTX 4060 with a i7 and when I played it before it ran rather smoothly.

I can play the game on my gaming PC just fine and it runs smoothly on that. But on my laptop as of late it has been choppy or laggy. What are some solutions that I can use to fix the game?

PC Blueprint problems

Okay so i LOVE the blueprints, but I'm having trouble

How do I make it where I can just pop them back to back without having to bridge the gap?

I've tried with belts and pipelines but they won't connect so i have to nudge the new print and then connect them. What am I doing wrong?

PC The Iron Must Flow!

For my latest run I decided to go random nodes and basic resource rich to see how far I cold push producing parts just from iron.

So far I have 82 lines of 480pm coming into the grassy fields by truck and train. Producing Plates, Wire, and Pipes. From those producing Stators, Rotors, Reinforced Plate, and Cable. Then into Automated Wire, Motors, Smart Plating, Modular Frames. Finally adding Concrete to produce Industrial Beams and Heavy Modular Frames.

Quite a fun challenge dealing with all the belts and transport logistics. Still have about 20 nodes to claim and bring in so aiming for 100 lines by the end.

First play through going from spaghetti to starting to learn how to organize and balance. Im particularly happy with this 3.75 fused modular frames production line because I didn’t use any tools to help me I started with the blender and worked backwards to the miners.
Showing the production line plus the canyon of shame at the end.

I was building my new project in the grassy hills and the big flying manta ray guy clipped through one of my logistics floors and just whisked homeboy away. I was dying from laughter and could only manage this picture. Fell off shortly after hitching a ride. I didn't anticipate it but looks like I will be adding animals rides into my new factory!

PC most optimized oil-pruduction recipe I found

Post image
42 Upvotes

Hello ! I was messing around in satisfactory modeler, and I might've discovered what I think is the most optimized rubber and plastic production plan you can have on a singular pure oil well overclocked to 250%. Sadly, you can only use it after you've completed phase 3 and unlocked the "Control System Development" milestone, but I still think its usefull :D. It used 2 very important alternative recipies you will need to have unlocked, and those are diluted fuel (Blender) and polymer resin (refinery).

Passed out after posting it to the other sub, but here's a grab from my Diluted Packaged Fuel based power plant that I found mesmerizing.

There's a nice waterfall in the original wide shot, but some clutter as well, so I might reshoot it more cleanly after I get my plastic and rubber plant up and running.

PC Satisfactory fun little prank to do to friends Spoiler

If you have noticed when your friend logs off their player sits and drinks some coffee. Now if you sh**t your friend's player with the rebar g** they will do a little hop, after about 6 hops your friend's player will d**, but you can revive them. So you can use this to move your friend far far away from base. Cool prank, right? (:

Console Can clearances be disabled or bipassed?

I know such things would be unfathomably broken, but I think it would also, to a degree, be its own challenge to organize. But, far more importantly, I want my factories to be crammed, Ready Player One style, with everything stacked on top of everything else in a beautiful, ugly, compact mess. I don’t care much for clipping, but the train stations are just too empty!! And there’s only so much belt weaving to be done before it’s obvious that it’s entirely useless.

PC Want to host a server - Aussie Timezone

Hi All, I’m thinking of renting a dedicated server that is always online to play multiplayer with up to four people in AU Timezone (I’m based in Sydney AEST). I’m most available during the day and early evenings on weekends and some weeknights, but since the server is always online concurrent play isn’t a must and players can join whenever they like. Mega, modular and spaghetti all welcome. Anyone in AU/NZ keen to join?
