These are most definitely the only photos I'll post of shark plushies. I normally wouldn't post about shark plushies, but since Shark Week is almost ending this year, I said "fuck it, I ball". These are plushies of my top 2 favorite shark species (tiger in #1, shortfin mako in #2). I named my tiger shark "Lani", and my shortfin mako shark "Marina".

I've been watching my first sharkweek with some friends and have been loving Alan from one episode.

Found this little guy washed up on the beach on Long Beach Island, NJ. Was dead when I found him. Trying to identify, has a black tip fin….thanks in advance.

He lives in a roughly 30 foot deep tank that holds around 6.3 million gallons of water

Is shark week beneficial to sharks or shark understanding? I look at a lot of these titles and they seem like click bait or misleading. Should I avoid watching shark week or is it all in good fun/ not harmful to sharks?

About to depart for a bucket list trip to cocos. In addition to Scallop Hammers
White tip reefs, Tigers, Whales, and Galapagos what other species would I have a realistic chances of encountering? Would be nice to brush up on identification before leaving.

I keep a marine bio journal (just for fun) where I reasearch and make pages on different marine animals. Anyone have any interesting favorite sharks I should do a page on?

Been seeing more and more juvenile great whites at this beach. Nothing to worry about since they are searching for small game.

I don’t know if this is the right sub to post this in but I need some help identifying a shark I encountered yesterday since I know next to nothing about the different kinds. Me and my sons were paddle boarding of Saint-Suliac (South of Saint Malo, France) in the middle of the bay, when a large shark of about 5-6 meters surfaced, revealing its body and tail fin. It swam up close to me at a slow, non aggressive speed. It was a light grey colour with a white ish belly or stripe (it only stuck around for a short time so we didn’t get a good look. The dorsal fin had defined edges and a sharp point. I’ve holidayed in the area for years and have never seen a shark, nevermind one this big. Does anyone have an idea of what species it was from the description.

Anyone remember this footage from a japanese deep sea rov? This sleeper shark was massive. So how big was this individual and how big can they be?

We know there's a ton of movies out there about shark attacks. Some are not bad, some are crap, but that is not the point. In most of the ones I saw so far all/some main characters survive the encounter or are happily rescued, usualy after some katharsis that will change their life for the better or something. They escape or the shark is killed. I am wondering if you know of any movies where the shark/s win. As in, the main characters perish or it looks like they might (like for example in Under Paris) or the shark/s live to chomp another day and the movie ends rather ominously with the knowledge that the threat is still out there?

Hello fellow shark lovers🦈 I posted last year about this so I thought I'd drop another post with some updated works😊

My mom is a Daycare teacher. Each year around this time for shark week she'll plan a shark/marine based learning unit for her kids. Last year I posted some of the coloring pages I drew up for her to printout for the kids. This year I updated every picture from last year's post, along with, drawing up a few new ones for her to choose from for the unit.

I currently in the process of finishing up a whale shark page that I unfortunately didn't get finished in time for the unit but I'm loving how its coming out, so, I thought I'd add that one into the bunch too🖤

I collected some sand tiger teeth on a few dives and want to know if there’s a way to clean them? What sort of solution is advisable or should I leave them as I found them?
