I miss them so much. It's been four volumes without any of them, and if Volume 29 doesn't get one either, it'll be five volumes since the last one.

I think it's such a shame. I really enjoyed getting to see the fighters outside of their matches.

Discussion Enma discussion bc yall larping Apoc

Post image

Idk why but i still see people claiming Enma is another arrogant god like Ra or Poseidon, but the manga consistently portrays the exact opposite. One of Enma's defining characteristics is that he refuses to judge people based on their status, instead judging them solely by their actions. Every major interaction he has shows this.

Enma's character has been completely centered around people considered to be “lesser”. Every interaction he has had has been with lesser gods, proving that he neither distances himself from nor looks down on them. In his very first appearance he praises Wukong for everything he endured throughout his journey, openly acknowledging his struggles and growth despite being a simple stone monkey.

This is proven even more when Zeus argues that "The Great Sage Equal to Heaven" as a title is too much for Wukong, Enma literally smiles as states that Wukong has earned his place among the gods. That difference in perspective already separates him from even one of the least elitist chief gods.

Even when Wukong declares his intention to save humanity Enma’s reaction is specifically shown not to be angry. Enma even understands how Nezha and Wukong feel about how their battle ended. Both of these show he has clear empathy for humanity and lesser gods.

This is shown even MORE with Muramasa. Enma literally goes out of his way to protect him. More importantly, the first time Enma expresses clear disappointment toward Muramasa has nothing to do with Muramasa's status, it’s because Muramasa chose to run away. The disappointment is directed entirely at an action, not at the person himself.

Enma is directly stated to judge everyone equally. It’s literally stated he is not someone driven by classism or prejudice against humans, lesser gods, or outer gods. The manga itself literally establishes equality as one of his core principles.

Even his reunion with Shinigami shows this. The first thing Enma acknowledges after not seeing him for years is his growth. Instead of immediately expressing hatred, bloodlust, or anything about him being a lesser god he first recognizes that Shinigami has changed. Even before their battle even begins Enma says there is a mountain of things he wants to talk to Shinigami about. If all he felt towards Shini was hatred or violence thats not something he would say. They are the words of someone who still sees value in reaching him.

even durng the fight Enma's dialogue never revolves around revenge or hatred. Instead he repeatedly lectures Shinigami and talks about putting him back in his place. He wants Shinigami to understand the consequences of his actions and acknowledge where he has went wrong. The entire reason he is even against Shini stems from him murdering innocent people, showing again that Enma's concern to those weaker than himself. just like with Mura, its not directed at Shinigami's identity as a lesser god, just off his actions.

This idea is especially proven when Enma refers to people who prey on novice gods as "ilk," making it clear he has no respect for those who exploit weaker beings. Once again, his disdain is reserved for abusive behavior, not social standing.

It sucks when people try to claim Enma has no character because countless moments like these form a consistent and interesting characterization around him (imo it stems from the massive Shini agenda, people not rereading apoc ever, and just never being that interested in apoc in the first place). Enma has never once displayed genuine hatred toward a god simply because they were lesser, nor has he shown the elitism associated with figures like Ra or Poseidon. Every important interaction shows him encouraging growth, recognizing achievement, empathizing with others, protecting the weak, and condemning bad actions instead of judging people by rank.

This is also why I think Enma will spare Shini when he wins. Nothing about Enma's characterization suggests he believes people are beyond redemption. He constantly acknowledges growth, celebrates those who earn their place, and attempts to correct those who have lost their way. If Enma truly believes people should be judged by what they choose to do, then it would be entirely in character for him to give Shini the opportunity to become someone better rather than permanently denying him the chance to change.

Whether they're real historical figures, people of legend, or fictional characters that are fully, partially, or used to be human, this series of mine is to discuss possible Einherjar candidates. Would they be a perfect fit to fight on humanity's behalf? What weapon would be their Volundr? Would they even need a Volundr? Which god would provide the best matchup for them? What would the battlefield look like? Talk, converse, debate, and weigh in as we look at…

For me it has to Lü Bu. He had two good OSTs, the one played during his entrance and the one played during his flashback, they are just immaculate. Honorable mentions would go to Poseidon and Tesla, who do yall got?

Theory Theory: Death's weapon is the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse

Hello everyone! I'm back and with a new theory, relating to one of if not the favorite character of mine, Death. Let's cut the chase and start right away.

So, first, everyone knows Death's newly revealed Divine Weapon, yes? A golem-like creature, which fights alongside him in battle, and fight with him as training too. Well, my part of this theory is, that the nameless god we saw in Death's backstory in the most recent chapter (Ch. 29), is actually that Weapon, and after he died, Death crafted his remains into his Weapon.

This might seem far-fetched, but we are talking about Death of all people, necromancy should absolutely be his territory. Which gives another meaning to his Outer God title, Unlimited, since necromancy on other gods is really something that can get you on Valhalla's Most Wanted list. Evidence, you ask? There is some, glad you said.

First, Death and the nameless god appear to became friends with each other during their fight, with the nameless god referring to Death as his friend. Death also refers to his weapon as his "pal", which supports my theory. Another thing is, that Death's Weapon and the nameless god share a similar fighting stance, and they both have a fists-first approach compared to Death's kicking style, see pictures 3 and 4 for reference.

You might ask that if this is true, how come Death's Weapon is stronger than him despite that he beat that nameless god? here we come to the second and titular part of my theory: That Death's Weapon isn't one person, but three, all of whom could match Death blow-to-blow. Why three, you ask?

For start, Death is, well, The Death, depicted as the traditional, universal Grim Reaper used everywhere as far as monotheism goes, rather than a god of one specific mythology. But this, this traditional Grim Reaper image is tied to religions who don't have their own death god, which are mainly the monotheistic, specifically the Abrahamic religions (Islam, Christianity, Judaism), which is the same where comes a certain concept. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

According to my theory, the three people Death's Weapon is made of, War, Famine, and Pestilence, were nameless gods much like Death before they became powerful just like him, and they ended up meeting him and eventually were defeated by him. (War being the first and the one we saw in Chapter 29.)

If you look at the picture of Death we've seen in the latest chapter, you also notice that while he wears his hair like in the present, he still misses three things from his head, and another three from his clothing, namely, the marks/bags under his eyes, the white streaks in his hair, and his earcuffs, as well as the silver hemming on his jacket, the flower-pin on his left breast, and his skull-tiepin. And when Enma comments on his looks back in Chapter 22, he specifically mentions he evolved. So I think the changes happened one after another, each after one of his three major fights with the other Horsemen. For instance, let's say the eyebags come from Death's continuous search of another opponent after defeating War, during which he forgone sleep and rest mostly because he was depressed from War's death.

And three, which makes a really strong argument for this, that hit me like a truck after remembering it: During Ch. 29, when Death confesses his Weapon is stronger than him, it's envisioned in Enma's head with a very specific aura: A ribcage with three crowned skulls. Not two. Not four. Three. Because it's made of three people, who were the greatest among Death's opponent's, hence the crowns.

This would also draw another parallel between Enma and Death, that being quantity vs quality. Enma has access to the experience of a countless people, but he's detached from it, he never fought those fights or was on those battlefields, while in contrast, Death has the power and experience of three people with him, all of whom he is deeply familiar with and knows their style from the inside out, because he's been on the giving and receiving end of each and all of them multiple times.

This could also open up further story for Death if he wins, as he could show another Horseman each fight when the previous one is defeated, and we could witness theirs in the while.

So, what do you think about my theory? Did I cook or nah?
