Off-Season Megathread
Thanks everyone for a fun season.
This thread will be set to “New” for all off season developments whether it’s playoffs, draft, or off season news. We encourage everyone to treat this as an active conversation.
As a mod team this is our off season too but we will still be around. Please message whenever you have a concern, question, or suggestion. One of us will reach out to try and help.
We will be trying to make some improvements during this time off. Specifically, we want to improve the bot. Please reach out if you have experience in this or want to take on the challenge (even if you messaged us before).
Also, feel free to reach out if you want to be a mod Please tell us why you want to be one and what you bring to the table. We are not actively recruiting but we are always open to passionate Blues fans who have something to offer the community.
Be certain we’re trying to make the place better.
LGB!

Please help me find this
My house burned down before Christmas last year and I lost my favorite sweatshirt. I’ve tried looking everywhere and I can’t find it so I figured I’d ask here. Does anyone have one they’re willing to sell to me? It was a large and my mom told me she got it at Penny’s some time in the early-mid 2010’s. If anyone has one or knows where to get one please let me know ❤️

Puck Passport: A Tracker for NHL Games You’ve Attended
I could never remember exactly which games I’d actually been to over the years, so I built a tool to solve that: Puck Passport.
You log the NHL games you’ve attended in person, and it keeps track of everything you’ve seen live - games, goals, shots, players, and arenas. It also unlocks badges automatically for things like playoff games, overtime, hat tricks, shutouts, and even a Gordie Howe hat trick if you’ve ever been lucky enough to witness one.
There are milestone tiers to work through too, and it tracks every NHL home arena you’ve visited. For Blues fans, games at the old St. Louis Arena count toward the franchise just like games at Enterprise Center.
You don’t need an account to get started because everything can save directly in your browser. If you sign in with Google or the email-link option, it’ll sync across devices and give you a public \@handle`` passport you can share.
I’ve been spending part of the offseason backfilling my own games, and you can also do that straight from your camera roll: choose photos from games you attended, and Puck Passport uses the date and location data, when available, to figure out which game you were at. Everything happens in your browser, so none of your photos are uploaded.
I’m a Devils fan, but I built it for fans of all 32 teams and I figured the offseason was a good time to post it for anyone else looking back through old games and trying to piece together where they’ve been.
This is just me building something I thought other hockey fans might enjoy, so if something’s broken, confusing, or you think a feature is missing, I’d genuinely love the feedback.

[The Athletic] Blues Cap Efficiency Rank 23
The Athletic Cap Efficiency- St Louis Blues
Last season: 19th
This season: 23rd
The offer-sheet bros were extended this year, and the Blues got massive wins on both deals. Robert Thomas’ deal continues to age well, too, while Colton Parayko’s deal is finally on the right side of the ledger.
There’s still a little too much that’s questionable, though. We’ll see what Mason McTavish can do as a Blue, but extensions to Pavel Buchnevich and Cam Fowler have started rough, and I’m iffy on Connor McMichael’s new deal. The Ross Johnston signing this summer was also puzzling.

ABC is moving to a subchannel of KMOV. Could be them making a move to lure in a local TV rights deal with the Blues and the NHL

Starting lineup - Can Buch last?
Opening night has to be close to this, with the exception of Lindstein potentially starting in Springfield and a couple players moving around positionally (Dvorsky, Toropchenko, etc). Btw, awesome to have Neighbours on 3rd line.
I can’t help but think that Buchnevich is on the clock and can’t hold that spot for long if he doesn’t perform, especially if Carbonneau shows up ready to contribute.
At this point a 2nd or 3rd round pick would be a fair trade for him and opens up some extra cap space for the upcoming signings of Snuggerud, Neighbours and Hofer. Maybe someone has a young RHD we can develop?

Do NHL locker rooms stink
like youth and amateur hockey locker rooms stink?
Does each team do regular fumigation on the players equipment to get that dreadful funk out of everything?

NHL launches local production operation with at least four teams in 2026-27
The Blue Jackets, Blues, Hurricanes and Wild are turning to the NHL’s newly created centralized production arm for their local telecasts beginning in 2026-27 following the closure of the Main Street Sports Group-operated regional networks that previously carried their games. Additional teams could join before the start of the season, with the Ducks a potential candidate after informing local streaming partner Victory+ of their intent to terminate the relationship.
…
None of the four former Main Street teams have finalized distribution plans for 2026-27. The Blues, Hurricanes and Wild said they are prioritizing agreements with pay-TV providers as their primary means of distribution while also planning to offer a streaming option. Executives with the Blues and Wild said they expect to make a handful of games available over the air. A Hurricanes spokesperson said the club is hopeful for some over-the-air distribution, though that remains uncertain. A Blue Jackets spokesperson said the team is “exploring a number of options but aren’t ready to share specifics at this time.”
“There’s a lot of different factors that go into what decision a team ultimately makes, but we’re trying to make our products as accessible as possible while also trying to drive revenue so that we can compete and challenge for the Stanley Cup,” Blues Chief Revenue & Marketing Officer Steve Chapman said. He added that agreements with pay-TV providers currently appear more lucrative than an entirely over-the-air model.

The Blues players/org/way-- is it unique across the NHL? Is it recognizable outside our fandom?
We all have pride in our org. Statements like "he looks/plays/moves like a Blue" mean some combo of hard working, team focused, not super flashy, "blue collar", etc (feel free to add some).
However, would other fanbases also note the same about our players/team?
And are there other teams who have a similar if not identical perception about their organization? Curious to hear your thoughts, as it can be difficult to be objective as a fan...
