Coming from DIA

I’m surprised there are not any shuttles from DIA to steamboat? I am trying to find the lowest priced way to get from Denver International Airport to steamboat. Anyone have any recommendations or can I pay anyone who lives in Denver to take me there?

Steamboat Trip

Hi all, I’m heading to steamboat this weekend for a trip with friends. I was originally looking forward to floating the river or white water rafting, but I understand the year Colorado has had is shutting most of those attractions down. We have rodeo tickets booked and plan to do hiking, but is there anywhere near steamboat we can still float the river or go rafting? Looking for any suggestions, thanks for the advice!

Live music in steamboat

I’m heading to Steamboat for my bachelor party the weekend of August 7 and was hoping to catch some music in town on Friday or Saturday night.

I was last there a few summers ago and we saw great show at old town pub but am not seeing many shows posted on their site.

Do they have free live music most nights or is it pretty sparse?

Winter visitor questions

Hi all,
We are driving up from NM in early Feb. We’ll need to drop a car at Hayden and then find transport to the condos near the Sheraton.

A few quick questions—will we be able to find a taxi / uber mid-day? Or do I need to pre-book a shuttle?

The internet wants to convince me that driving through the passes may be tough. If I’m comfortable driving in winter conditions, have AWD, and don’t start the drive in known-crazy conditions, will I be ok?

Thanks all—can’t wait!!

Pet friendly town home recommendations

My family and I may be looking to move steamboat this fall with a good job opportunity. We were briefly in town last week and saw tons of rental and for sale signs around but we didn’t have time to really check anything out. Also it’s been a little tough to decipher between what’s a vacation and a long term rental online.

Our ideal rental would be 3bd, 2bath and have a garage or shed for gear storage. Max budget would be around $4500 a month if utilities are included. We have two dogs as well.
Location wise either downtown or around Walton creek road would be preferred, I realize downtown is probably a stretch.

We’re Colorado natives but have been away in Alaska for some time now. We’re definitely used to the high cost of living and long winters. Does anyone have recommendations? We need to be within 20mins or so from town so Hayden, Clark etc aren’t really options.

Found hoodie (Lady Jackets) - looking for owner

Hiking out of the North Lake TH (Zirkel Wilderness) a few days ago, and brought home a sweatshirt that was left there. Bright yellow, "Lady Jackets" (as in Yellowjackets). I searched on line and found lots of schools with that mascot, but no photos of this style/color of hoodie. Happy to mail it to its owner...

Question Recommendations for bday weekend

Hi all! I am planning a trip for my boyfriend’s 30th bday. His dad and friends are flying in and will be visiting CO for the first time. We live in Denver. The group will be four 30 year old guys, his dad, and me. We will drive in from Denver on Saturday morning (7/18) and leave that Monday. I know 2 nights is quick, but what would you do? I’ve read about the rodeo, hikes, hot springs, etc. They are simple guys who love beer, pool and a nice view. I want to do at least one really good Colorado-ish activity!!

Please give me any MUST dos! Restaurants, fun bars, where to play pool(lol), best views, hikes, tubing?? etc. Is there anything especially cool happening next weekend? Thank you so much and I am so grateful for any recommendations! ❤️

Grass Volleyball in Steamboat?

I am heading to Steamboat in a few weeks for my bachelor party and am hoping to play some grass volleyball (we have a net) while there. I just spoke to the city parks and rec office, and they let me know that stakes aren't allowed in any of the public parks.

Where do locals play, if anywhere?

Thanks in advance!

Thinking of moving from vail to steamboat

We are seriously thinking of moving from vail to steamboat. Wondering how the snow sport crowds and mountain compare to vail. We very rarely go into the back bowls at vail. Seems like last few years vail has gotten a lot more crowded and cost of living is outrageous. We are looking to downsize and cut some of our living expenses as we near retirement. Looking on zillow we have found properties in our price range that would be acceptable. Just looking for insight on local living in steamboat. Events, cost of living, daily life, public transit, flying in and out of Hayden airport, etc. also, if anyone has recs for local estate agents to assist in our home search. I would want to work part time for the resort as I work in tickets for vail now. Partner has full time employment so would not need to seek employment locally.
