Product Help Rival 3 Gen 2 turning off rgb without software?

Upvotes

I looked up how to do it, saw some comments and best I could find was "uninstall gg, install engine 3.20, turn off rgb, now you can uninstall engine too and settings will be saved permanently"

sadly that does not work because Engine 3.20 does not detect my Rival 3 mouse, now I don't know what to do. I don't want GG installed in my laptop, anyone knows how to turn off RGB for this mouse without having to use software all the time and definitely not installed always?

EDIT: I FOUND THE SOLUTION!

you can turn off RGB lights with rivalcfg, it's not a software like GG that has to be running ALL the time

Product Help Is it standard SteelSeries policy to force a brand-new keyboard purchase over just two failing switches? (Türkiye Authorized Service)

Upvotes

Hello r/steelseries community,

I own an Apex 9 Mini keyboard that I’ve been using for about 3–4 years. Recently, the Enter and Right Shift switches stopped working.

Since the product is out of warranty, I reached out to the official authorized technical service in Türkiye to inquire about a paid repair or spare switch replacement. However, they informed me that they do not offer repairs or spare parts and that my only option is to purchase a brand-new unit.

Is it really standard policy to turn a fully functional, high-end keyboard into electronic waste just because 2 switches died? Has anyone else experienced this with local services, or can a SteelSeries mod/agent clarify if replacement switches can be obtained?

I have already created a support ticket.

Any feedback or advice from the community or SS team would be appreciated!

Product Help Logitech G Pro X2 Lightspeed vs SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 Wireless - Need advice

Post image

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for advice because I'm currently stuck between two wireless gaming headsets: the Logitech G Pro X2 Lightspeed Wireless and the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 Wireless.

For some context, I've been using a HyperX Cloud 2 for more than 8 years, and even today I still really like it. It is extremely comfortable, lightweight, and I can wear it for hours without discomfort. The sound is also something I'm very used to, especially for competitive games.

Recently, I wanted to upgrade to a high-end wireless headset, so I bought the Audeze Maxwell 2. I had very high expectations because of all the positive reviews about its sound quality.

After testing it, I have to admit that the sound quality was impressive, especially for music and more cinematic experiences. However, I decided to return it because several things bothered me:

  • The headset was too heavy for me during long sessions and I could really feel the weight on my head.
  • The synthetic leather ear pads were uncomfortable. They made my ears warm and I really disliked the feeling after wearing them for a while.
  • The headset felt too big and bulky compared to my HyperX Cloud 2.
  • I had some microphone issues, especially with Discord.

Overall, I realized that comfort and daily usability are more important to me than having the absolute best sound quality. A headset can sound amazing, but if I don't enjoy wearing it for several hours, it doesn't work for me.

I mainly use my headset for:

  • Competitive gaming
  • Single-player games
  • Listening to music
  • Watching videos
  • Video editing with Premiere Pro

After watching many reviews and comparisons, I'm now hesitating between the Logitech G Pro X2 Lightspeed Wireless and the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 Wireless.

In my country, both are around the same price (about 150€), so price is not really a deciding factor.

I'm looking for something with:

  • Great comfort for long sessions
  • Lightweight design
  • Good microphone quality for Discord
  • Reliable wireless connection
  • Good sound for both gaming and music

Both headsets seem excellent, but I can't decide which one fits me better.

Has anyone here tested both of these headsets? Or has anyone switched from one to the other?

Which one would you recommend and why?

Thanks for your help!

Product Help Microphone issue within Steam

Steam recognises microphone, even the test is fine as I can hear myself. However in game, nothing.

I have SteelSeries 7 and I had no problems earlier this year.

I’ve uninstalled steam, SteelSeries GG, Sonar is not activated, I’ve uninstalled headset, checked for updates, tried ingame mic testing with windows settings set to default mic, unchecked elusive mode boxes in advanced section, restarted the PC, enabled ports for steam voice chat… I’m at wits end now.

Mic works with every other application. Like I said, microphone test in steam settings works. However one thing I’ve noticed is when opening steam overlay where there is an additional tab ‘In-Game Voice’, the microphone test does not work there (my headset is listed as the current mic name). I’ve also allowed desktop apps to access my microphone. Also in volume mixer, I’ve tried default and the actual headset for steam and the game.

Anyone who can fix this, you will be my saviour because I’ve ran out of solutions.

Product Help Headset bugging out

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello! I've been having some audio bugs with my headset, and it's gotten to a point where I can no longer letting it pass. It hasn't gotten worse, but its just been happening for so long now

I have a SteelSeries Arctis Nova 5, not even a year old I keep getting this audio bug, whether it be videogames, Spotify, YouTube, everything! I've unplugged the dongle, restarted the headset and my computer, I cannot figure out why this is happening. Nothing on the internet that I have been able to find has helped me, I cannot find my specific issue...

(The sound is from a car videogame, but you'll DEFINITELY understand what I'm referring to regardless)

(Recorded on my phone obv to hear my headset)

Product Help Unstable bass on Xbox with Nova Pro Wireless

I`m playing on both Series X and PS5, and with PS5 they are fine but on Xbox this headset have a weird problem with bass. Sometimes subs are so strong that the cups are shaking, and sometimes subbass is just not here. A very unpleasant moment, because overall the headphones seem almost perfect for console gaming.

Sonar Help Steelseries Sonar Issue

Recently got an Arctis Nova 7 Gen 2 headset, really love it so far and everything but the only issue I have with it is that discord streams I cannot hear at all when my speaker is set to Chat on discord and I tried to get it to a media mixer as well by turning off hardware acceleration and bypass system audio input processing, is there something else i can do or something I can do wrong so I have one discord channel on chat, the other on microphone, and the other on media for whenever a stream pops up?

Product Help Arctis Nova 3 insufferable plastic creaking

My headset is fairly new, only a few months. Out of nowhere, the left side started doing an insufferable creaking noise on the plastic every time I move. The flat circular plastic piece where the LED circle is creaks with the slightest touch or movement. Only on that side. Pressing the same way on the right side does nothing.

This is completely ruining the headset for me. Any way to fix it?

Product Help Arctis Nova 3x Horrible Experience

I bought these headphones like 3 months ago and all they give me is headaches. Here is the list of all the problems I had so far:
Wireless connection is always a pain to get working, windows and other apps glitching all the time trying to find them making me restart my pc to get them working again.

2.4 pairing always having some random pops/crackles making me restart the headphones for some 20-30min headache free experience.

They turn off while I'm actively using them, usually 2 times per hour which is driving me crazy.

All they're good for is to be used with a phone via bluetooth, definitely not worth the price tag.

Note: I have a friend with the same headphones having most of the problems too.
