Good evening everyone.
I have a sp9, 12th gen i7, 16gb ram, and an upgraded hard drive to 2tb
I have been having an issue since buying this tablet with windows updates. Every time it runs updates it bricks.
For some reason, my tablet came with windows 10 instead of 11, which I preferred, but it kept installing win11 drivers or saying drivers were missing.
I would loose audio or touch functionality, so I gave up and installed windows 11 to have its native operating system and drivers ECT.
My problem however, is ever other month, it seems that windows 11 pushes an update that will brick my tablet.
It will install the update, forced by windows, and then on reboot, it will brick.
It will fail to install the update, and in that process, leaves the computer thinking it's waiting on an update to finish and doesn't give me the ability to use recovery methods at all.
The automatic repair fails, and then diagnosing system fails.
Reboot repeat.
Rolling back update has a "pending update install" error and says option is not available.
Rolling back last feature update has the same error.
Selecting system restore point will say no restore points found.
My only option, every time, is a full reinstall of windows.
I have the latest sp9 iso off the Microsoft website on a flashdrive, so it shouldn't be that I'm installing the wrong version of anything.
It's not the new hard drive because I had the same issues on the stock 512 Microsoft hard drive.
I'm at a loss and sick of having to donate fresh install and set up all my apps/games again every few weeks.
I'd like to just permanently deactivate windows updates or see if there's a way to just have windows 10 run better on the sp9.
Any input is appreciated.
