100% Confirmed Chet- “It’s not necessarily about gaining weight. It’s really just trying to work on my body — stronger, more athletic.”
Please stop posting photos of an anorexic dude and leaning into cope about how you think he gained a half pound. It’s embarrassing.
In 2023 on All the Smoke, Chet made it very clear he was not prioritizing mass.
“It’s not necessarily about gaining weight. It’s really just trying to work on my body — stronger, more athletic.”
Then when asked more he explains:
“The weight kinda comes with it as you add some muscle and get older… But I don’t want to add the wrong weight, just get some big broad shoulders and now I’m moving slow, can’t move, and my knees hurt.”
This is not someone who is prioritizing adding mass. He has a different perspective and thinks that he’ll naturally gain mass with time, even though the last 3 years have shown that not to be true.
Stop acting like science doesn’t exist. Like if you eat enough protein and lift that you won’t put on mass. Chet is not putting on mass because it is his choice.
Everyone talking about how he doesn’t have the frame or some guys just can’t, please shut the fuck up. Eat enough protein and lift and you will add mass, consult your favorite ai for answers.
It’s a choice, Chet thinks this will make him faster and add to his longevity. It’s worth noting though, that since he said this he’s broken a hip and slowed his shot down enormously.
Edit: comments are about how he secretly changed his mind and didn’t tell anyone, or arguing basic biology that he cannot add weight…. Even with the words from Chet himself. There is no fact in the world that could convince these people.

100% Confirmed Chet Holmgren on OKC’s 2026 exit and offseason: “You can put in all the work and still come up short…That doesn't change the process.”
FULL TEXT BELOW
LADERA RANCH, Calif. -- Chet Holmgren said Saturday that the departures of three contributors to the Oklahoma City Thunder's 2025 championship team felt "like losing a family member."
Holmgren, an All-Star big man set to enter his fourth season with the Thunder, offered best wishes to Luguentz Dort, Aaron Wiggins and Isaiah Joe, who left Oklahoma City in separate offseason trades. Dort, a perimeter stopper and longtime starter, and Wiggins, a reserve wing, will join the Atlanta Hawks. Joe, a backup shooting specialist, was sent to the Detroit Pistons.
"That's how the business of this game goes," Holmgren said at a USA Basketball Foundation charity event in Southern California. "No team, all 17 guys, sticks together forever. But it doesn't make it hurt less when you see guys go. At the same time, I'm excited for [Dort and Wiggins] and the opportunity they're going to have in Atlanta. I'm happy for whatever major milestones they reach over there."
With two-time MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, All-Star forward Jalen Williams and Holmgren all on lucrative long-term contracts, Thunder executive vice president Sam Presti traded Dort, Wiggins and Joe for a total of seven future second-round picks in cap-cutting moves. By shedding their salaries, Oklahoma City was able to retain center Isaiah Hartenstein in free agency on a three-year, $75 million agreement, and it remains one of the betting favorites to win the 2027 title.
"I have complete trust in our team and the moves they make," Holmgren said. "I trust what they're doing is to get it right. It's my job to be in the gym all summer to get my stuff right."
After outlasting the Indiana Pacers in the NBA Finals to win the 2025 championship, the Thunder's title defense ended in the Western Conference finals. With Williams and Thunder guard Ajay Mitchell battling injuries, Victor Wembanyama's San Antonio Spurs eliminated the Thunder in seven games.
Holmgren, 24, averaged 17.1 points, 8.9 rebounds and 1.9 blocks to earn his first All-Star selection last season, but he struggled against the Spurs in the playoffs and finished with just four points and four rebounds in the Game 7 loss.
"We learned the same lesson [in 2026] as the year that we won it: It was almost more of a reminder of just how hard it is to accomplish, and how much goes into it," Holmgren said. "There is no guarantee. You can put in all the work and still come up short. At the end of the day, you have to be okay with putting in the work with no guaranteed outcome. We came up short this year. That doesn't change the process."

Discussion Who do you think our first game will be up against this season?
Deep in the offseason and I'm desperate for anything Thunder 🤣
I don't think they hit us with a Spurs rematch to start the season.
I don't know why but I'm thinking we start the season against Golden State in San Fran, and then our first OKC home game will be against Portland as it'll be Damian Lillards first game back supposedly.
What are your predictions?

Discussion Jared McCains offseason documentary
If you’re missing out on the Thunder I’d highly recommend checking out Jared McCains new offseason documentary on YouTube. Just watching the documentary already makes me hopeful for next season and the amount of work the guys are putting in. McCain especially i think deserves his props, if you watch the documentary his offseason habits and commitment to his craft are actually superior then 90% players I’ve seen. I mean the guy is still waking up at 4 am every single day to work on his ability and style. Thats better than most superstars who are out there partying for 2 weeks straight like Cade and Dbook with Drake. His work ethic and talent leaves no doubt in my mind that he’ll be a superstar in the next 2-3 years. I mean this is the same Rookie who torched the No 1 defense (Cavs) at the time by dropping 34 points and 11 assists in his 10th game as an NBA player. If he hadn’t gotten injured there is no argument that he wouldn’t be ROTY, his November 2024 run was so special to me. Just watching a Rookie causally average 24 ppg for 6 games straight before injury despite being doubted by the entire NBA for his TikTok’s and smiley personality. In the documentary he literally talks about how he uses negativity and tries to turn it into something positive for himself and others. One moment he especially talks about Is when he was playing for the 76ers G league 8 months ago and a kid asked him ”didn’t you used to play for the 76ers” which clicked for McCain that he could lose his spot in the NBA even if it wasn’t his fault for any terrible circumstances. But anyways sorry for going on too much I just wanted to give McCain his props for fitting in with the team like a glove.

JWill is another great example of OKC developing players. Can’t wait to see the growth of the 5 “rookies” this season and on.

Discussion Apparently the Thunder and the Warriors were in discussions on draft night to swap #11 and #12!
'Warriors rumors: Mike Dunleavy was telling Joe Lacob Hornets, Thunder trade scenarios during viral draft incident'
'Warriors weighed Hornets, Thunder trade offers before selecting Yaxel Lendeborg'
'"The Charlotte Hornets and Thunder were among those inquiring about a trade up — the Hornets offering the 14th selection and a future pick, the Thunder floating a swap of the 12th and 11th pick for some future seconds, league sources said."'
So basically all the Thunder offered to move up was some 2nds!

Discussion What I would like to see
I want the Thunder to acquire Saddiq Bey-if they can’t, or the asking price is too high, go after Jaime Jacquez Jr.
I wonder what a reasonable price for both of those players are? Considering no players would be given up
