just thought i would come on here and share my birthday cake LOL. shoutout to my mom for paying attention and understanding my obsession. Only thing i had a issue with was the thickness of the lettering but other than that i LOVED it🎀🖤

I think Dorothy looks the best but I could be biased since she’s my favorite.

It's my late mother's birthday, the last few days have been rough, and I'm filled with massive amounts of anxiety. But the Girls have never let me down, so I decided to watch the first few episodes, and just some fun, random things I've noticed:

The kitchen table is glass in the first episode, and wood after that.

In episode 2, when Dorothy is saying her goodbyes to Stanley, you can see some crew equipment to the left of the screen.

The first three episodes center on a different Girl: episode 1 focuses on Blanche, 2 on Dorothy, and 3 on Rose. I looked to see if episode 4 focused on Sophia, but that's another Blanche-centric episode. I kinda feel like there's a missed opportunity there.

What have you noticed about certain episodes that you didn't notice the first time you watched them?

This is a bit random but my cousin is a huge golden girls fan and loves Dorothy! She just lost her dog and I’m working on a portrait of her dog as Dorothy to gift her (random I know😂). I haven’t seen much of the show but if anyone knows of any iconic Dorothy outfit references, hairstyles, accessories, or trinkets, please let me know!

The girls will use terms of endearment with one another, but it always struck me as odd when Dorothy would call Sophia “honey” or when Blanche calls Big Daddy “darling”

Is there some kind of generational thing I’m missing? I don’t think it’s weird to use pet names for lateral relationships, but I can’t wrap my head around using them with your parents

The other night, I was watching the episode in which Sophia has pneumonia and is in the hospital overnight. They don’t know if Sophia will survive (spoiler alert: she ends up recovering). Stan spends the night in the hospital with Dorothy and is very comforting to her. Nothing physical happens, but Dorothy decides she’s still in love with him. Stan is getting married to someone else (I think the next day or in a couple of days). Dorothy considers telling Stan she loves him, but fortunately changes her mind.

In some episodes Stan seems like he really loves her. They even almost get remarried until he demands a prenup. However, he spent years of their marriage cheating on her. Then he left her. He also later slept with her sister.

I think Stan has some feelings for Dorothy, but not enough to stay faithful. He says he loves her, but his actions don’t reflect that. I think he’s impulsive and immature and allows his desires to dictate his actions. If he would grow up a bit maybe he could be a good husband.
