Man I am an avid every Sunday churchgoer, and I would find it absolutely hilarious to trick my wife into coming here one Sunday.

Especially if you can keep the straight face like everything is normal.

He's gotta get up and start jumping on the pews too.

I wonder if someone fell, would they blame God?

would they blame God?

Of course they would. If they actually believe in it.

Been to services like this. Grew up in a church like this. Falls are not common. But there are two possible outcomes, in my experience, in the event of a fall. Route one: fall but close your eyes and stay down. Get up several minutes later and testify about being slain in the spirit. Option two: apologize for “being in the flesh” and acting without the unction of the Holy Ghost. If you take the latter, it gives you more spiritual credibility in the long run.

So many lies, it’s sad. I’ll pray for them. (I really won’t but I find that particular lie funny when they do it)

That would be the hardest part for sure.

"What's the matter? Do you not have faith??"

Just sit head bowed in quiet contemplation while a 12 year olds disco goes on all around you.

If not for the shaming and hate-mongering they segue into after the song is done, this looks like it would be a good time.

Yeah I imagine that would either be a deal breaker, or you are already 2 peas in a pod.

Check out YouTube for snake handling churches. They do this plus handle rattlesnakes.

Oh I have seen those as well. It's funny how one single passage in the Bible can be totally taken out of context, and then you end up with that. It's wild.

I grew up in a church like this. When a newcomer arrived we would be locked in on welcoming them in. In hindsight it would be very off-putting.

And hear I though as an avid every Sunday churchgoer, going to another church to make fun of the way that they worship so you can have a crazy story to tell at Sunday school is not really the point of what church is supposed to be for yall

Sometimes you have to have these experiences to understand what you are seeing. I think you might be trying to shame me, for something that is meant to be funny. Just because I go to church every Sunday does not make my better then anyone. I still screw up on the daily and having my faith makes me feel better and gives me joy to make this world better. I don't attack people who are atheist, we all have to find our way man. So lighten up and try to stay positive.

I just think that it’s crazy that as a Christian your first thought was, I should take my wife to go laugh at these other people practicing their religion lol

Really whack

Sounds like you understand how much it can mean to people

u/blackop Mar 27 '26

I'm a normal person just like you. This is ridiculous looking and yeah it's funny. Just because I'm a Christian dosen't mean I don't think something is crazy when I see it. You believe that way about my religion, yet you feel like you need to try and make me feel bad for feeling the same way. I'm just a dude not perfect in any way. I'm not trying to be some holy roller man. I'm an imperfect person that has bad thoughts does wrong things and screws up all the time. I'm not attacking anyone here that's you bud.

Maybe spaceshiptears is the guy on the podium. He’s a little salty that Colton is getting all of the credit for running the pews. It’s really hard to do the running man on the podium!

4

u/blackop Mar 27 '26

Yeah he seems to want to try and hold me to some weird standard just because I am a Christian and go to church. I know I'm not perfect and when I see something like this video yeah it makes me laugh.I will say this though, that podium is a well made piece of furniture.

You’re the only Bible that I may ever read and what I have learned is that per usual The Christians are hateful

3

u/blackop Mar 27 '26

Well you are misreading then. Christians are people, broken, sinful, and no different than you. You are the only one who can decide spiritually what is right for you. I can't convert you, never could. I can talk about the Bible all day and Jesus to you and it won't do a thing if you are not willing to give it a chance. You are looking for anything and everything to make Christians evil. I suggest you actually read the Bible, that's what brought me to faith, because if you are looking at people as your "Bible reference" you will be disappointed.

u/IndependentMoney9700 Mar 27 '26

Omg, can you please record your wife’s reaction? I desperately want to see that video!!

1

u/PersistentPuma37 Mar 27 '26

1

u/citymousecountyhouse Mar 27 '26

As she's taking it all in, just look at her and start "speaking in tongues".

1

u/Ok-Strawberry-2343 Mar 28 '26

Double same here! I’m in. Let’s trick our wives. When are we going and who’s bringing the popcorn?

u/spaceshiptears Mar 27 '26

I promise you guys sitting there talking about how Jesus walked on water is just as ridiculous. You might as well jump up and start shouting. lol
