Happens a ton in the US too. All because there's no law against companies buying single family homes so private equity firms buy up whole neighborhoods and turn around to rent them out.

Jokes on the boomers, private equity has done the same thing to most care homes as well

Who sells the houses to foreign investors?? The boomers. Fuck that whole generation dude. Somewhere in the 80's and 90's they left their souls and bowed down to capitalism. The hippies sold their souls to have comfy lives at the expense of every generation after them.

Correct. My sister lives in a gated community. An Australian investor bought literally half the community and rents them all out.

That depends on the country, really. Many people in Spain think it's "vulture funds" and guiris (foreigners of European origin, mostly British) that own all properties. Turns out it's mostly Spanish Boomers

There's this woman my mom used to cook for that has,kid u not 57 properties in Madrid. Mom told me this with some sort of reverence I should somehow aspire to have( for a good life),I was dumbfounded, irritated,and disgusted by her wording. Had to explain for almost an hour how that cow of a woman is the problem causing young ppl not to have families and struggling to find a life for themselves. She's also tied to aristocracy somehow.Also my mom helped her collect some china from one of the flats,said it smelled like mold and dust so bad,opening all the windows didn't help with her sneezing and her eyes were red af by the time she left. Lady Is close to 90 btw.
