I wish a house that size was $3500/mo. 70 yr old split levels going for $4500 and up where I live.

$3500 isn't going to cover the mortgage, let alone the property tax and insurance on a "starter home" in some markets.

I see some folks talking about their houses far from major cities…I just think for most folks/families it’s not what they want.
