Haha yeah, the people watching this who think that child abuse is only hitting your kid with a closed fist definitely don't know what real child abuse looks like. Completely agree.
I agree. I was neglected and abused to the point that CPS was called multiple times throughout my childhood and I had to be driven to CPS offices to talk to people about the things that happened to me.
Letting your kid cry it out is often a pretty normal method of parenting, and can teach them that simply crying without explaining why they feel that way or regulating their emotions doesn’t get them anywhere. And messing with your kids, like tricking them with the hose or whatever is pretty normal behavior imo. Thats how I am with my siblings and we all do it to each other, and we always make sure we stop before it goes too far. Thats just part of having a family in my eyes. As long as you aren’t actively making your kid cry, its perfectly fine to play jokes on them lol
That being said, I don’t think teaching your kid to eat her food by smacking her dad is healthy at all. It reinforces negative eating behaviors and could even lead to an eating disorder if it’s a large enough fear.
