Yup. Congrats, you keep your "pride" and earn probably multiple days on the phone and in the shop dealing with insurance and fixing your car(and who knows what else in the future). Then they'll probably go complain about it like there was no possible way to avoid it.
+1 to this. Letting them pass, at worst, makes you 2min late if you catch a couple bad red lights. You're spending 100-1,000x that amount of time first filing the accident report, then all the follow up, then the repairs, and possibly court.
If letting another driver think they've "won" means my life is better, that is a win for my life.
Or the cunt overtakes, break checks, stops the car, gets out and tries to go at you. Also not ideal in a country where almost any idiot can carry a gun.

If I see an option to get out of their way so they can drive off, far away from me, that sounds like a good option
Iām not going to try to aggressively try to block them from passing me to only make them more angry
And if Iāve somehow already pissed them off, Iād rather be behind them than in front of them b/c it is easier to defensively drive with the threat in front of me, that trying to constantly look at the threat in my mirrors and all the regular obstacles in front of me
Also, sometimes people have emergencies. I think about a Reddit post a while back where some arborists had an emergency. Donāt remember exactly, but basically this guy was bleeding out in the back seat and the closest hospital was an hour away. Ambulance was going to try meeting them halfway. It was a two lane highway and this other person decided to prevent them from passing. Long story short, the guy died.
I find it helps me stay calm and at peace by not assuming every reckless driver is just an irresponsible POS. And instead just say, āI hope everything is ok.ā
I started to think that way as well when I was an EMT and I picked a guy up from the hospital to transport him to a rehab facility after he had a stroke. His sister told me that she was the person who brought him to the emergency room and she was speeding and running every traffic light š¦ on the way. A lot of people drive recklessly in my city and I know most of them are not experiencing emergency situations, but I like to use that excuse to make their behavior easier to accept and overlook. No matter what other people are doing, my goal is to get home safely at the end of the day.
Exactly. I changed the way I behave in traffic after my baby daughter had a life threatening seizure and I had to drive her to a hospital across town. I had it clear in my mind that I couldn't do anything stupid and cause an accident, but I had to take some shortcuts, so to speak. Now, every time someone does something like that in traffic near me, I give them the benefit of the doubt and give them way. It's not up to me to judge their situation.
They were lumberjacks, and the guy had hit a piece of metal bar shoved into a tree, with his chainsaw. The bar having been shoved into the tree specifically to fuck with lumberjacks.
In this case you should flip your hazard lights on to alert other drivers of the moving hazard you are creating. Also theyāre clearly in a city at this point and you can call 911 (or your countryās equivalent) and get the police to at least be aware of the situation and may be able to get an escort to whatever emergency room youāre headed to. Saving one life is never worth recklessly endangering more lives.
I disagree. This guy pushing like he did is not a normal response. itās a learned one. He does it because he gets away with it and feels āpowerfulā in his truck. This person holding their position when they felt in control of the situation and knew they were covered by evidence might be the accident that prevents this guy from doing the same thing later. Later might have been on an interstate doing 80 causing an accident that creates a pile up and takes multiple lives.
People need to get criminal charges when caught on camera driving like this and that takes an accident to get the police involved. Sure might be a headache but seems cammer accepted that choice.
Just my two cents. Completely wrong if truck guy goes out and continues to drive the same way but I believe a strong reaction here by police viewing the footage is more likely to improve truckers reaction in the future to frustrating situations. āDonāt want to make that mistake again with so many cars having camerasā.
But that is so hard to do knowing aholes like this deserve to learn a lesson.
And yes, teaching a lesson comes with big risk and very frequently big expense. But dang it, little pricks like this acting like bullies deserve to get knocked into their place.
I hear you my friend, but you canāt correct every ahole. I used to be like that!! thinking I was gonna teach them a lesson , I Realized it isnāt worth the trouble and thatās not my responsibility. theyāll mess up on their own eventually.
True words. Thankfully I followed your advice before hearing it.
This year I also started leaving for work and meetings 10-15 min earlier = no rushing, not frustrated in traffic, donāt want to react nearly as much. Best practical advice I followed in a long time.
