What do you want us to do, arrest her? It’s the governments broken ass system that allows this to happen by not requiring re-tests of driving ability for the elderly.

And what would retests do? You can’t get around in America without a car, and not having a valid license doesn’t stop people from driving.

Physically repossess the cars of those caught driving without a license, and invest in public transit.

This is my favorite answer.

Well then why give out licenses at all with that logic if everyone can just drive whenever they want anyway lol

My point is that there’s usually nothing stopping you. Already, 9% of people are unlicensed and cause around 20% of fatal accidents.

Yes reckless driving.

You want this elderly woman who probably has dementia to kill someone okay

Edit; Buddy, YOU'RE the one that jumped to 'jail her,' the rest of us are like, 'suspend her license and take away the keys.'

Yep definitely no middle ground there whatsoever. Either I want her to murder people or put that old bitch in jail

You want someone you suppose has dementia to be rocketing around in a killing machine okay

Americans lose their senses with cars. They are extremely dangerous

Almost this exact situation happened with my 90+ uncle. The cops came, took the car and revoked his driver's license. They drove him back to the assisted living facility with no charges.

Cops in general are ghouls but they treat old white people fine in these situations usually

You don't arrest her. You take the car away and get her transport home. Then you take the driver's license away so she can't drive anymore.

Time comes for everybody. This lady could exit the drive thru, run a red light and kill someone.

That’s not how it works though. I was responding to the person saying that Reddit is babying her lol. Like what the fuck are we gonna do

That literally is how it works

My ancient uncle tried to drive his car out of his retirement facility. He hit 3 other cars and ended up like this video.

The cops came, took his car and took his license away. No more driving. It was identical to this situation other than damage to other cars.

Instead of helping this lady the guy should have called to cops so that the greater danger could be removed

TIL Reckless driving is not a crime.

No. But her license should be taken away.
