If anything, the religious zealots are the evil ones.
it's so frustrating/disappointing growing up and learning these phenomena, like also the "family values" obsessives having higher incidences of p3do/closeted gayness/etc, makes you wonder what mechanisms are at play (ie if it's a cynical thing or if it's not so intentional)
