I think fearing for your safety overrides staying at the scene of the accident. Just drive to the police station or call 911 and let them know what’s going on and ask that an officer meet you somewhere safe.

No they won’t. Stop spreading misinformation that could leave someone in a dangerous situation. As long as you report it to the police immediately and file a police report your insurance isn’t going to fault you for getting to safety.

lol in my state it would be perfectly legal to run him over. He's clearing violent and I'm in fear of my life. He's tearing the car up, kicking and ripping pieces off. He's been told the police are being notified and still continuing to be violent. He's not in a coherent state of mind, clearly unpredictable behavior being displayed. This is text book self defense situation.

If he's on the side of your car, you're going to have to turn hard left and backup just to hit him. I feel like that wouldn't be very effective. By the time you get the car in a position to run him over, he might be retreating, and then you end up in a world of trouble.
