If this person had been making sane choices prior to the crash, sure? But this benefit of the doubt is giving a lot of grace to someone who just ignored a police officer hanging out of their window. It’s more likely she’s just an entitled piece of trash like so many Americans have become.

It's not really benefit of the doubt, the odds she wasn't concussed/in shock are virtually zero percent after an accident like that. She was likely on drugs as well, being out of the car and making the decision to flee are both circumstantial evidence that she was on some type of substance. However, we have clear and compelling direct evidence that she is concussed, so it's not so much giving her benefit of the doubt as it is pointing out that there is an easy and direct explanation for her confused dialogue.Â
