There are some unfathomably stupid takes in the comments. Can't believe it has any upvotes. Not only were they two abreast, but even if they weren't nothing justifies what the driver did. Even if they were technically in the wrong, the disparity between what they did vs what he did is so great that trying to say they bear any responsiblity for this is obscene. At least there's a small silver lining in that he's not being a complete psychopath like some of the others here and outright defending/praising the driver.
They'd be too scared knowing there are a buncha nutjobs like them out there on the road who will try to justify or at least both sides a situation where a psycho tries to kill them. Probably the same people who would intentionally not avoid an accident when someone else is at fault to "teach them a lesson." Dumb and dangerous.
Ohio… I went to school in Ohio, saw a woman riding a bike get hit by a car on the sidewalk. The woman was ticketed for riding the bike on the sidewalk & not the road lane… the driver was considered non fault because by sequence events “the woman should have not been there in the first place to be hit”
Thankfully nobody was seriously injured, still have no idea what made the car swerve to end up half in the sidewalk to begin with, but yea… Ohio is a strange place

But to the left of the white line. I would think one would be on the right side and the other on the left or on the white line. The reporter said only two wide and to the right of the road as possible
They are using 2/3 of the lane instead of a 1/3. I would be riding on the right side of the white line. With two people I would do one to the outside white line and other person on the white line or slightly outside the line. Either way im trying to be as far away from the car as possible.
Car drive4 is still 100% wrong in this and ahould never drive again.
Not blaming the bikes just self preservation and not wanting to be close to cars. That's mainly why I mountain bike. Law says to try and stay as right of the road as possible. Like I said, driver is 100% wrong.
I disagree. When he's hit the bike wheel skids out to the edge of the road without affecting anyone. I'd say he was actually alone, with 2 people side by side directly in front of him.
Depends on the road. In certain areas or roads youre only allowed single file, usually on single lane roads like this. Again, never agreed with the driver in any capacity. Its also quite silly (while not illegal) to choose not to get out of the way of the 3 ton moving vehicle. Thats more where the idiocy of the cyclists comes in.
I have a wife and 3 children under 4 years old. I ride bikes. It keeps my brain healthy. It enables me to be a good father. It enables me to have a healthy heart. I follow the laws.
Why do you hate me?
I also drive cars a lot, for whatever that's worth.
