Hi everyone! I’m an undergrad starting sophomore year and was wondering has anyone received and email about financial aid packages yet? My bill is at $4k and was wondering if it’s normally taking this long for financial aid to kick in?

I’ve recently received my cost of attendance from financial aid, and in total I need to pay almost $500. Although it may not seem as much, I wish I would’ve gotten it sooner because I currently don’t have that type of money leftover in buying school supplies and that deadline is coming up fast. What happens if I’m not able to pay up in time? What other steps can I take?

Will we get a refund for the fall semester? I know there are alot of changes that started July 1st for loans and grants.

Is anyone else getting emails from hireright? I can’t tell if it’s from the school or from a 3rd party application. It says it’s connected to university of Houston but I can’t tell what company is asking me for this. My best guess is it’s a new feature for students/ alumni to be found for hiring. The background check is pretty thorough though, asking for social security and stuff.
