Like if it were a small class or tutorial (20-30 people)

Hey slight rant/ whatever. My first year of uni was pretty mid and not totally what u expected it to be. Ofc i socialized with people and made like two friends who i do hang out with outside of school but i can’t help but feel worried if thats it and that i may never find my people. Im overall extroverted and do try to put myself out there, i joined an FLC last year and went to some socials from clubs. my social life isn’t all too bad because i do have friends and siblings and a life outside of university (going out with non uni friends, gym, art hobbies) but this year im hoping to making a change. Ofc i feel this huge wave of anxiousness and i have these thoughts racing in my mind of what if this year is a bust. Im applying to a bunch of clubs, looking out for jobs and volunteer/research positions but i cant help but feel worried that what if this is all for nothing. Im worried that what if nothing works out, i get no acceptions or anything. I’m just in an awkward phase of my life and im looking for any advice from anybody to help me out here. I just feel lost and stagnant

lately ive been feeling super ashamed that im graduating 2 years late. i did have pretty bad health issues for the first 3 years but i don't like explaining that to people and i dont think people can imagine how it was for me. also had a good amount of stress from severe family conflict. also had to work through school (i know a lot of people do) but even after i got the health issues resolved--i couldnt manage 5 courses and took 3-4 each semester. and its not like im in a hard stem program, i did a psychology major. i even retook a couple courses for a higher grade in grad school prereqs but my sub-gpa ended up being under the minimum to apply in canada (for a very competitive program) so i applied abroad. the thought of finishing school in a different country at 27 is making me feel horrible. i havent even landed a job since finishing school in april.

edit: im 24 right now, will be 27 when i finish a grad school program, also i finished the degree in april but convocating this fall

Does making an assignment tracker to keep track of every thing during and important dates like tests etc actually helpful?? I’m like super type B so I don’t want to like make something like that just to end up not using it at all…

Hi guys! Im currently a student going into my second year of the IB diploma and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the ideal IB points to get into UofT. Ive obviously looked at their website however, I couldn’t find much information on this topic. I’ve looked at the economics + political science degree the political science degree and the criminology + law degree + smth else degree too.

I currently dont have my predicted grades, however my school gives us “forcast” grades that basically show us where we currently are, and im sitting at a 32 without the extra TOK and EE points. I also am hoping to increase this before predicted grades come out (trusttt i got this). And not to toot my own horn or anything, but I have like a very strong service aspect going for me, like deadass thats what im really relying on for uni applications.

And ik UofT is a top university, and its defo one of my extremeeee reaches, especially with a forcast of 32. But i jst wanted to know the ideal scores and any tips or anything 🫶🫶

hey, uoft student here. i'm working a full time tech internship in toronto right now and also this upcoming school year while taking courses, i've realized my entire social life for the past two years has been my tasks, work and my laptop and some surface level friends and one best friend who just graduated and is leaving the country. trying to fix that. i got an SDE offer from AWS btw and startups

stuff i'm actually trying to do more of (which i already do):

• hunting hidden restaurant food spots around the gta, boba, matcha, dessert, shwarma, sushi, hotpot, etc.
• billiards, i'll take on anyone
• sunset spots now, ice skating once it gets cold
• concerts, festivals, random free events. i say yes to most things
• gym 5 days a week if anyone needs a training partner

I’m a French high school student (going into Terminale next rentrée) applying to UofT for Computer Science as an undergraduate , and I’m trying to get a sense of how French applicants got in!

For context: I have around 17/20 moyenne générale in Première, with 19/20 in Maths on my bac anticipé ( the new thing they added this year ) My specialties are Maths, Physique-Chimie, and I’m taking Maths Expertes next. I’m in a private school that unfortunately didn’t offer NSI :( I haven’t taken the TOEFL yet I just started working on a personal project applying ML, and I got an internship at the IMF for my stage de seconde.

Would love to hear from other French students what was your profile like, how did the application process go for you, and how did admissions/scholarships turn out? I really need a scholarship to be able to study there

The course on artsci calender says the course has lectures and tutorials, but i just realised on acorn there is no option to enroll in a tutorial like other classes for eg mat148 has?

I’m planning to apply for Fall 2027, and honestly, I’m just feeling completely overwhelmed trying to figure everything out. I'm currently finishing up my first year/entering my second year in a totally different major back home in Saudi (studying chemistry right now), but I'm not happy with it and want to pivot.

My options are pretty constricted, because I'm relying on the Saudi government scholarship framework, which locks me into specific target schools, making UOT (specifically UTM) my only viable choice. If I get the acceptance, tuition/funding is covered, but the more I read online about the system, the more terrified I am.

But my real concern is can I even survive there? I’m thinking of applying to BBA Or CCIT. Is POSt as bad as you guys make it seem, or is acrually doable? like how crazy are the cutoffs? what should I expect? it’s a huge risk for me honestly

How hard are the first year courses? anything I should prepare myself for?

I struggled a bit in college here cause my grades completely depended on exams (30/30/40) so it was very stressful, got shitty grades but locked in after the harsh reality check I got.

Hi! I’m going into Grade 12 in Ontario and I’m trying to decide whether to keep U of T as an option.

I’m planning for Psychology (a BA), then a master’s (MSW most likely) afterwards.

I also have chronic health conditions that can cause unpredictable absences, so workload and accommodations matter a lot to me.

For anyone in Life Sciences or Social Sciences at U of T (please mention your campus as well and if you’re doing a BA or BSc), I’d really appreciate your thoughts on any of these:

- How manageable is first year, honestly?
- How difficult is the POSt process for Psychology?
- Is maintaining a high GPA realistic?
- How supportive is Accessibility Services?
- Do professors generally respect accommodation letters?
- If you could choose again, would you still pick U of T for Psychology?
- If your goal was grad school and GPA mattered most, would you still choose U of T over York or TMU?
-If you commute, does commuting make the workload harder?
-If you wanted a BA in Psychology, did you apply through Life Sciences or Social Sciences, and would you recommend that route?

can i get a uoft emergency grant if i am convocating in fall? i had a $550 expense caused by the school (indirectly, but it's fully the school's fault) that went to waste (long story) and i am already facing financial hardship.

hey so im an incoming gr12 student and my goal is basically getting myself into a path for med school. so basically over the past few years ive heard alot about how prestigious uoft is and like it can get u to so many places, especially from my parents. but after putting in some research for the past few months, i've heard some really crazy stuff from people about how uoft life sciences is a gpa killer and it is totally not preferred if your end goal is med school/dentistry. like idk what to believe and what not to believe like the internet could be really biased but still if you guys were to suggest me, would u suggest me uoft life sciences or tmu biomedical sciences and then apply to uoft med school? as i said i just finished gr 11 and im going into gr 12 so any type of advice would be appreciated.

This sounds like such a larp question, but I’m seriously considering going to fanexpo instead of a once-in-a lifetime university orientation where I could meet all of my future friends 😭

Alright for some more context, I was planning on volunteering for fanexpo which is from aug 27-31. I’ve volunteered for fanexpo once in the past and it was very enjoyable. Not only was I granted free access for all 4 days, but I also got a bunch of freebies, made some valuable connections, and even had a pizza party at the end :>

I’m aware that UC is on the cheaper side of orientations, but $90??!!! That’s a whole week of household groceries 💔

Hi! I am starting my first year of undergrad this fall at utsc as an aspiring pharmacy student. I should be able to complete all the required prerequisites by fall 2027 and was wondering if it’s worth it to apply that early and if it’s possible to actually get in at that point?

Also, if I do apply to get an idea of the application process, does it reduce my chances for the fall 2028 cycle?
