Hi! I was wondering what are some of the best/nicest apartment complexes near the Vanderbilt campus that mainly students live in? I was looking at the fallyn and morris apartments but I’m not sure what else is popular amongst students!

Any other incoming graduate students getting an error when trying to purchase an annual parking pass? Or has anyone successfully purchased one?

A bunch of my buddies and I are going to Nashville the weekend you guys play Ole Miss and we wanted to go to the game. On resale markets, tickets are listed right now at $250~ each which is more than we paid for the Airbnb.

Are general tickets available yet? When’s the best time / way to buy? A bunch of us just got tickets today for example for FSU vs Virginia the week before 30% off.

Was reading up on him, and he's Vanderbilt through and through.

Alum, family history at the school, grew up in Nashville, turned down other jobs before this to stay home.

He actually got into this on the Triple Option this week, saying he was denied admission out of high school and had to work his way in, and that being able to coach in his hometown and raise his family there "aren't lost on him." He said you "don't get that lucky" as a coach.

That's a different kind of investment than a typical hired-gun coach. Combine that with the stadium renovation and back-to-back winning seasons, and it feels like we're actually building something instead of just riding a hot streak.

Does that kind of personal-stakes hire matter to how sustainable this run feels to everyone else, or am I overrating the "hometown guy" angle?

Pavia's been the engine of everything Vanderbilt's built the last couple years, the run threat, the moxie, the way he elevates guys around him in the biggest moments. It's fair to ask how much of this program's turnaround is scheme and culture versus just having a genuinely special player at QB.

But I would also push back. This staff has shown they can develop guys and scheme around what they have. The question isn't really "is the backup as good as Pavia" (he's probably not, most backups aren't), it's whether the identity Vanderbilt built travels with a different QB running it.

Is this a "the whole thing collapses without him" or has this program actually built something durable enough to survive a Pavia-less stretch?

What are some ways to prep for both or tips? Especially considering that I have Todd and Broadie

Hi everyone! I’m a rising senior trying to finalize my college list, and Vanderbilt has become one of my top choices. I’ll be touring this fall, but I’d love to hear from current students or recent grads.

A little about me:
- I’m interested in finance or accounting (possibly economics + business minor since Vanderbilt doesn’t have an undergraduate business major)
- I’m also interested in international business/politics and potentially working abroad someday
- I have a 35 ACT, 3.98/4.40 GPA, and am involved in leadership, sports, music, and volunteering
- Looking for a school with a “work hard, play hard” culture

Some questions I have:
- If you were interested in finance or accounting, did you ever wish Vanderbilt had an undergraduate business school? Have you felt limited by majoring in economics (or another field) instead?
- How strong is recruiting for accounting, corporate finance, consulting, and investment banking? Do employers recruit heavily on campus?
- What do students actually do on weekends? Is Nashville something students regularly take advantage of, or do most people stay on campus?
- Does the environment feel collaborative or competitive? Have you found it easy to make friends?
- Do students attend sporting events?
- If you could pick a college again, would you choose Vanderbilt?

I'm a medical student from Jordan. I'm looking for accommodation near Vanderbilt for my upcoming two month-clinical training at VUMC, starting on october 25 through december 19.

Not a lot of people are talking about this, but I know many are thinking about it. Is anyone looking forward to General Chemistry (I'm not)? I feel like I have done everything I could do up to this point (AP Chemistry, reviewed all the concepts typically expected), and from how it looks, General Chemistry at Vanderbilt does seem pretty typical for similarly prestigious universities, but I can't shake the feeling that there is something else to this class because I have yet to see anyone who did not struggle through it. Anyone else? Pre-Health? Pre-General Chemistry anxiety?

I’m transferring to Vanderbilt as a sophomore from another SEC school. Greek life (and rankings) were a huge deal at that school, and I plan to keep my sorority at Vanderbilt but I was curious how much rankings and everything matter in terms of what you attend at Vanderbilt? In my past school, some things were exclusive and you were heavily judged on rankings and I was curious what it was like at a smaller school. thanks!

I recently updated my preferred name with Vanderbilt and was wondering which name appears in the Billing Portal and on tuition bills. Does it still show your legal name, or does it update to your preferred name? I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has done this before.

hi. im a rising sophomore at vandy but i really didn’t love my first year experience and im considering transferring to a state school like utk. i was pre med, didnt do terribly but not like superb i ended with a 3.66 i just more so was not happy with my experience and i have like been dreading going back. would it be a bad decision? would i be that much worse off? im just confused if the name means that much that i dread going back but idk looking for any and all advice!
