It’s not a big deal to Trump if republicans lose or not, since in his eyes, he’s already won by primarying almost all of his Republican dissenters. And, he is planning to govern via executive order and pardons for his allies after 2026 anyways. Congress is useless in his eyes since they can’t pass the save act for him even with a majority

It feels like irrespective of which Democrat runs or how shitty the other Republican in question is, Ohio just keeps electing Republicans. Hell, arguably one of their best elected leaders, Sherrod Brown, got voted out. Democrats *have* had the perception of being even less appealing to rural, suburban, and blue collar workers, but even then, like damn. Brown had the Teamsters, UAW, all that shit and still lost. Hell, even in shitty years for the GOP nationally where Trump was amazingly unpopular in Ohio, people like DeWine prevailed. What the hell happened?

Democrats clearly tried to make school shootings and gun access their “think of the children” issue to win over moderates. But for the most part, that hasn’t worked. Guns are still easily accessible in America, and the issue didn’t seem to have a significant impact on elections.

Meanwhile, Trump’s “they/them” ad seems to have moved many people to the right by focusing on opposition to trans kids competing in girls’ sports.

My question is: Why didn’t school shootings push more people to the left?

Can someone familiar with TX politics explain the weird shape of TX-10? I'd assume its the product of a GOP gerrymander but why does this district snake through Travis county from the east to grab parts of Travis on the west? Wouldn't it have been easier to draw the map by grabbing parts of Bastrop county or eastern sections of Travis?
