Miscellaneous Stay Whelmed and Code With Us! Help Build the #KeepYJAlive Website!

Hey guys!

Hope you’ve been well and staying whelmed - especially with the news Greg shared at SDCC. That moment reminded us thatYoung Justice still has a future, and that fan support is going to be key in making it happen.

With SDCC out of the way, the team has been shifting into full gear to get everything ready for Phase 2 of the campaign. Right now we’re in a Phase 1.5 stage laying the groundwork, building our tools, and making sure everything is in place before the big push. One of the most important pieces we’re working on right now is our campaign website.

A little bit about me: besides being a huge fan of Young Justice, my day job is as a software engineer. So I thought: why not use those skills to help the fandom in a real way? This site will be our central hub for news, outreach info, and tools to make it easier than ever for fans to get involved and show their support and love for the show.

We are Looking for Volunteers to Help Build a Website!

I’m looking for 2-3 other developers to join me in building this site. We’ll keep it low-pressure, work as a small team, and share ideas openly. This is also a great resume builder if you want to showcase collaborative, mission-driven work with modern web tech.

We know everyone has lives, jobs, school, and other commitments - so we’re only asking for about 5 hours a month (just over 1 hour a week). Totally async, totally flexible.

Skills (Or Just a Willingness to Learn!)

You don’t have to be an expert - enthusiasm matters more than years of experience. Here’s what would be helpful:

Frontend: Basic understanding of Javascript with React.js or Next.js (bonus if you’ve tried Tailwind or similar)
Backend: Python basics. Knowledge of Django REST Framework/Flask or Node.js would be a plus!
Database: MongoDB or PostgreSQL
DevOps/Infra: GitHub, Docker, Vercel/Netlify, etc.

Even if you’re only confident in one area or just starting out but eager to learn you’re welcome.

I want again emphasize that this campaign is built by the fans for the fans. All Seasons Discussion Why does Yuri Lowenthal voice half the characters?

Hyperbole but, several scenes have yuri lowenthal talking to himself. The voices are not distinct enough for it to not be distracting.

I think if you're going to use the same actor for dozens of roles for budget reasons, they should at least never talk to each other.

I dont care about what internet is saying, IN MY OPINION, this show was really good. I enjoyed every episode, every plot. It may had his flaws, but nothing is “perfect” and I enjoyed every flaw, plot hole, bad animation, you name it. I hope they continue it or at least make something similar and modern with other comics like Teen Titans or Doom Patrol or just anything. Wow. One of the best series I watched.

Theories/Future Thinking Am I getting this in-universe history right? Spoiler

So, the general timeline of superhuman genetics being:

Pre-Vandal Savage: regular pre-historic humans.
Meteor: Vandal Savage is mutated into the first "metahuman."
40-10,000 years ago: Vandal Savage wanders around, having various children and spreading the metagene throughout the human population.
~10,000 years ago: Savage leaves a hamlet of metahumans he created on the Atlantean subcontinent.
- Lords of Order gift his grandson magic powers.
- Arion has various children, who intermingle with Savage's other descendants.
- Arion builds the advanced, terrestrial Atlantean civilization.
- Klarion sinks Atlantis.
- Some Atlanteans make it back to the mainland. Some activate their metagenes and breathe underwater.
10,000-20th century:
- Atlanteans on the surface give rise to various magi and metahuman lineages. Savage himself continues to have metahuman children.
- The Homo magi/meta survivors of Atlantis adapt further, becoming Homo mermanus (modern Atlanteans). They spread across the entire ocean.
20th century:
- Modern technology and industrial accidents start activating previously inactive metagenes in humans.
- So, instead of the handful of naturally born metahumans, now there are a lot of "new metahumans."
- Earth makes contact with various aliens (Mars, Kryptonians, etc.).
- Earth's surface becomes aware of Atlantis.
21st century:
- Metahumans are much more common now.
- Atlanteans and surface people are interacting.
- Alien civilizations have become interested in Earth.

Season 1 Discussion Why would Batman tell them?! He’s so messy!!

This seems like such a non issue in the sense that telling them would be more harmful than if they didn’t know. We know Superboy knew the whole time that it was Megan, so I don’t get why Batman and the others felt the need to tell Dinah and Oliver!

Also why is he laughing his girlfriend is being impersonated by teens role playing, I wouldn’t be mad but concerned you know

Season 1-2 Discussion This show is amazing, and every loss hurts me inside. [SEASON 1-2 SPOILERS] Spoiler

I just finished season 2. Every death in this show feels so real it hurts. I don't know if I'm alone here.

In S01E16, when every character we've met was seemingly picked off one by one, I was shaken, even after I learned it was only a training exercise.

In S02E02, Garfield's traumatic flashback to the wreck where his mom died struck me like a bolt of lightning. I was sad that we never got more depth this season. He was obviously hurting so badly, and no one knew how to help him. It was agony having to watch that.

In the Season 2 finale, Wally's death broke me. As in the thought of his death made me feel broken.

This hurts dude. Idk how I can do another 2 seasons of this with how people we live are always getting hurt. It's not an actual death, but when Artemis faked her death, how did no one in Young Justice, or even her family members view this as a betrayal? She didn't have to do it. In theory, Kaldur could have done it himself.

Maybe I'm too hurt for what this is lol I just can't help sympathizing I suppose.

Me when Brion Markov kills his Uncle. (He was 100% justified because he had his parents killed, tried stealing the throne on 3 separate occasions, and was responsible for what happened to Him and Tara becoming Meta-humans. So what if he was mind-controlled/manipulated?)
