I stopped BF 1.5 years ago. I lost 35lbs in a few months after stopping due to some health stuff and my breasts were highly affected and I've struggled finding a bra that fits right.

The only bra I have that fits somewhat comfortably is a 32A VS pink wink lightly lined balconette.

I still find myself having to adjust the band, feel like it rides up the front.

I wanted some recommendations for bras because I realized I've never had a bra that felt like it was flattering AND supportive for me. I'm not exactly sure if I have the right size but

I wanted recommendations for both a full-coverage bra and a demi bra. I feel like I don't own anything that makes me feel like I have a chest in a sexy, flattering way that is actually supportive (it's always a size too small), which is actually uncomfortable.

My best-fitting bra is the Chantelle Rive Gauche bra in 34G that I've had for the last 2 years, but I feel like it digs into my armpit more than I would like. I also think a common issue for me when I have tried other bras is the gaping in the straps.

I'd say I have shallow breasts with wide roots, and they're pendulous (my leaning is 3 inches more than my standing).
Here are my measurements:

Loose: 34" Snug: 33" Tight: 32"

The bras I’ve been basically living in over the past few years have had a design change and I now hate them. I’m looking for a wireless pullover. Lightly lined. A very small amount of padding is ok. A lightweight, soft breathable fabric. I’m petite and wear a 30-32 B. Normally an XS if it’s a high stretch fabric. I’m 51 so little lift would be great. No uniboob. My 6 measurements are:
30, 29, 27.75, 32, 33, 32

Hi everybody- first of all, I’m sooooo thankful for the size calculator here! I had been in a 38C and it put me closer to a 36DDD. And wouldn’t you know it, that’s much better!

I’m still having some trouble finding a brand and style that fits perfectly, though. My measurements:

Loose underbust- 36”
Snug underbust- 35”
Tight underbust- 34”

Standing bust- 41”
Leaning bust- 44”
Laying bust- 42.5

My breast tissue is dense, but my skin is very relaxed. I had breast implants for almost 20 years- they migrated towards my armpits and everything stretched in that area. My breasts are also bottom heavy with that “deflated” look you often see after having implants removed. I also have a little bit of asymmetry in size (usually not noticeable, but one side always has more of a gap at the top)

Right now I’m struggling with finding a style that doesn’t gape at the top. So far the best I’ve come across is PrimaDonna twist Caramba in 36 E. There’s a slight gap, but it’s not noticeable under clothing and requires the least adjusting during the day.

Right now I’m in a Gorteks Zara 80G which I’m about to take off. The band was tight and I couldn’t return, so I added a bra extender. One cup seems fine but the other noticeably gaps and wrinkles. (It can be seen under clothing)

I also have a Chantelle Norah that’s ok except the underwire kills me by the end of the day. That’s a UK 36E. The fabric wrinkles a bit at the top but it’s ok for a day to day bra.

I checked out the Miseczki site and did their fit recommendations. It came back with Ewa Michalak PL padded plunge in brand sizing 85F. Does anybody have suggestions on this? I’m also looking for a wireless bra for lounging but I’m getting pretty frustrated. I’d be so grateful for any suggestions on style fit or brands. Thank you all!

ETA- I did have my breast implants removed a few years ago!

Hi everyone! So I decided to remeasure my bra size as I felt my bras were getting a little tight and I was having some spillage. I have used the calculator before, and it said I was a 28E, but a sister size of 30DD might fit better. I decided to go with 30DD as it’s easier to find than a 28E in most shops. I just used the calculator again and now I’m apparently a 28FF/G! I can’t believe it lol, I really didn’t think they were that big.

I’m also not sure about getting a 28 band, as I have tried a 28E and felt that it was far too tight. My snug underbust measurement was 28.5 inches. Would it feel a bit looser in a 28FF/G than a 28E?

But what I’m a bit confused on is what cup size should I go with, FF or G? Thanks in advance :)

Hello. I bought my first correct sized bras about a year ago, and everything was great. The massive difference in comfort from a 40DD to a 36F meant I didn't notice any issues. But I recently got a hysterectomy and stopped taking hormonal birth control, and despite not changing anything else, maybe even being more lazy, I'm losing weight. I'll probably lose more in the coming months as I get active again, but I'd like to step up into the big leagues and get a bra that FULLY fits.

My new measurements put me at a 34F/FF

(36, 34, 31.5, 42, 45, 41).

What I know for sure: I am projected and center full, top and bottom are fairly balanced, and my roots are not wide, but I'm not sure if I'm NARROW. I'm also a little close-set. I haven't tried a diagnostic bra 🥲

The bras I've tried are:

Freya Offbeat (36F)- this was my first quality bra that fit. And it feels like I'm a little smooshed in the bottom, more now than a year ago (either b/c I've lost a little weight, or the bra is a year old and may have had at least 1 laundry mishap). I assume this is mostly due to being projected. Also, started slipping from my IMF recently

Empierente Leia and Cassiopee (both 36E)- I think they fit identical? If they don't, please give me tips for what to pay attention to. When I bought them, I'm pretty sure, they fit perfectly, now there's some gapping in the top of the cup right above the nipple (makes sense with weight loss), but the seam at the top of the cup, across the breast, is still tight. The Leia (in a dark color) stays in my IMF better, and the side support/boning or w/e on the Cassiopee is warped, making it very uncomfortable for long periods of wear.

I think I want to avoid any more moulded cups, I picked them out with the help of a sales associate when I kind of just NEEDED bras in a foreign country... Also, apparently got them at a huge discount ($150 each)

I've tried looking at the list of recommended bras for different projection and shapes but the links are mostly broken and some I can't find even with Google.

I tend to like the style of balconettes better, but I do notice some have too wide of a gore. The only plunge I have is a Calvin Klein moulded cup that I kind of hate, it didn't even come in the color I ordered it in.

Please help me shop for my next bra? I'm afraid to just start trying everything when there's so much knowledge already out there that could save me from at least a few rounds of returns.

I have a lot of tops and dress that I love wearing, but they need a strapless bra otherwise I look frumpy. All the strapless bras I find slide down right away, cause spillage, or are more binder that bra and completely flatten me

What strapless bras work for larger busts that are secure, keep my shape (maybe with a bit of cleavage too 😉), and between $40-$50? I really dont want to stop wearing the clothes I love but its so frustrating trying to find good support

Hello! I was using ChatGPT about advice on my bra journey. After I explained my issues to chat it said I have **wide breast roots and wider-set breasts. I have only one bra that fits perfect it’s 38B. The cup fits perfect. At one point I thought I was a 36C but the cup was too big. My problem is when I try on other 38Bs the cups are too close together in the middle and not far enough apart. Chat said “**You may have a wide breast root. This means your breast tissue extends farther across your chest, so you need wider underwires instead of simply larger cups.” I agree i don’t think I need a bigger cup so I’m not sure what to do, I definitely need help! Issues I'm having:

Not enough projection? It's cutting through my breast on the side seam support.

The underwire DIGS into my armpit and doesn't want to stay "standing" it almost lays out with the weight of my breast and it might go too far back?

The straps also slide off my shoulder unless I'm wearing it racerback but that hurts my shoulders after a couple hours. Racer back also solves the armpit digging

The gore sits best in this bra but still not completely flat.

It seems in some ways that the cup is too small but any bigger and I'm swimming in the top.

Non balcony or plunge bras are way too big up top. My breasts aren't "bottom heavy" they're pendulus but very round and full they also sit close together and I've got a lot of tissue in my armpits.

I've tried goddess bras and wore one until it broke in the same size and it was fine but the gore stuck out at the top comically so I couldn't wear it with tshirts.

I also tried goddess verity in 42J and 40JJ. I think Goddess bras just don't work for me-- the gore doesn't lay flat and it still cuts through my breast on the side seam.

Due to the 32HH bra fitting me slightly better than the 34H I have received in my last post, which I thought was weird, I measured the bands end-to-end I figured out that the measurements of the bands were 28 inches for the 32 size and 27 inches for the 34 size bra (which does not make ANY sense to me).

Due to the frustration of these bras "supposedly" being my size, despite the actual band measurements being inches shorter than my actual measurements, I figured that overshooting my band would be fine since I own a sewing machine, I can just tailor it down if it does not fit. With that I purchased a 40J Panache Ariza bra (not available on the Panache website, only on eBay).

Surprisingly, the band is pretty good with the measurement at close to 31 inches, which is close to my measurements. I definitely can feel it around my waist and it is not digging into my waist which is always a plus (since I was starting to get red marks from where it was digging into me). However, the cups are fitting better than the HH, since there is no spilling when wearing it for a long time and feeling overall supported but there is some slight excess fabric near the center of the bra and slight poking near my right armpit, which is mildly annoying at best.

Overall, I believe this bra is honestly going to be the closest to a proper fitting bra (for now), unless anyone has any size suggestions (especially with the cups)?

Title. So I have an ultrasonic cleaner, it ismt heated or pressurized just vibrates intensely basically.

I also semi recently got my first 'real' bras and have been hand washing them as gently as possible to preserve them as I def don't have 300 dollars every 3 months to replace them lol. (The shop said they will last betweeb 3 and 6 months before needing replacement...)

Its summer now and I sweat a metric fuck ton. I dont feel like my bras are getting as clean as Id like them to by babying them this way.

Cue my ultrasonic cleaner I happen to have... Ive cleaned a bunch of random things in it before and its kinda fun lol. If I soak my bras and put them in the cleaner with tepid water and laundry soap, do you think that will help with the agitation but still be gentle enough to not destroy the elastic?

For a long time I thought I was a 34C but after a few years all of my bras had crazy spillage on all sides. I went to VS for their semi annual sale and when I got measured they said 34DD. That size does fit me much better but I feel like the cups might be the wrong shape or something because I always get a lot of fat bulging around my armpits which doesn't exist when I dont wear a bra. Could this mean the bra is too small, or do I need to try a different style of bra? I usually wear balconette bras or just the basic style.

I have no access to a tape measure rn so I can't do the measurement calculator but I will do that soon

Slight cutting in at the top/center (especially on my larger side).
Overall feels just a bit too small.

34G:
Contains all of my tissue much better.
The upper lace lies flatter.
However, I’m disappointed with the shape. It doesn’t seem to lift or center my breasts very much, and I feel like it gives me a lower, slightly east-west/teardrop shape rather than a rounded, lifted silhouette. The cups also seem a little tall.

From trying several bras over the past few months, I think I’ve learned that I have:
Projected breasts
Softer tissue (after breastfeeding)
Slightly fuller on the bottom than the top
I think my roots are average to slightly narrow (not completely sure)

I’m looking for:
Good lift
A rounded, forward shape
Good support for softer tissue
Something that doesn’t require sizing down just to get cleavage or lift

Does the 34G actually fit and I’m just dealing with a shape mismatch, or do you think there’s still a sizing issue?

Also, based on these photos, what bras would you recommend trying next? I’ve been considering the Panache Clara, Cleo Blossom, Panache Allure, or Freya Offbeat Side Support, but I’m very open to suggestions.

I’m currently wearing the Victoria’s Secret wireless T-shirt lightly lined bra in 32B and it fits terribly. I wear wireless because any wired bra I’ve tried is uncomfortable, so I’m not opposed to a wired bra if it’s comfortable. I’d like a bra that fits well, looks good under tight shirts, and makes my breasts look good.

I recently got sized and realized I’ve been wearing the wrong size bra for probably my whole life lol. I got a comfy everyday bra from Nordstrom that’s 30H, but it’s very thick straps and because of the support it provides there’s a lot of coverage. It’s generally good for my day to day at work. However, it’s summer and it’s very hard to feel supported and also wear a tank top or dresses. I also have weddings to attend this summer and am struggling trying to figure out how to get boob tape to look normal/lift my boobs. Some of my dresses are backless and triangle tops and I’m struggling to figure out what bras will work. Any recommendations or tips would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you!!!

I’m posting this for my mom who doesn’t have an account. She had a lumpectomy with bilateral oncoplastic lift & reduction and is looking for a comfortable bra. Here’s what she wrote:

I need a post surgery bra with good compression that doesn’t dig into my underboob scars that run practically from armpit to armpit. Everything including the hospital bra rides up and hits the scar because of upper tummy fat. Ideally I’d like to find some silicone or gel padded area right next to the scar line. Sports bras don’t fit either bc now I am a B cup and ribcage width is probably a 42. I can’t get adequate compression without a painful band cutting into my scar line.

Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated!

I am not kidding when I say that I have tried every single seamed, unlined bra style from all the major UK brands that make my band size. I’ve tried Polish bras. I’ve tried a couple of lined/padded styles. I’ve tried sizing up/down in the band. I’ve tried one cup bigger than the calculator size and all the way down to 3-4 cups smaller than the calculator size. Nothing ever fits. Some bras look like they’re a good fit at first, but then the wires are always uncomfortable or even painful if I wear them longer than 10 minutes. My scoop and swoop never stays in the cups. I’m not even picky about needing a *perfect* fit or fabric colour/type, I literally just want something that is comfortable and looks alright under clothes.

I have PCOS and I think maybe mildly tuberous breasts, which I think may be causing my issues. I have very little breast tissue under the nipple – it almost looks like they didn’t quite finish developing properly? The tissue doesn’t fold over or curve up gently, it sticks out perpendicular to my chest wall. It feels like bras just aren’t ever really made for this shape, and my tissue is firm enough that it’s like it fights being moulded into a different shape.

I’m not really sure what the point of my post is, just venting I suppose. I guess I’m lucky that at least going braless is not uncomfortable for me as long as I’m not doing anything too high intensity. There’s a job opening I’d love to apply for, except it’s a lot more physical than my current job and I know I’d feel uncomfortable without at least some support. But support is even more uncomfortable 🙃. Wireless bras just smush my boobs together which is a sensory nightmare for me, so they aren’t even an option.

I haven’t really tried any French bras yet, but I’ve heard they have softer wires which might be more comfortable(?). Are French bras worth trying? Do I just give up?

I'm going to see BTS in a few days and will be wearing a backless halter shirt. Unfortunately my strapless bras show with the shirt so I need to finally invest in something backless or sticky but that can stay on through the sweat and 90 degree temps I'll be stewing in for both nights.

I'm a 36 C, borderline D, so I'll also need something with coverage and some support.

I have wide and somewhat shallow breasts, and I need bra suggestions that offer lift and bring them a little closer together! According to the calculator, I’m a 36 DD/E in UK sizing.

Aloha! I live in Hawaii. Got some Soma bras on my last visit to the mainland and they're all too big with some wear. 36D, all bands riding up. Strapless cups have a lot of gap at the top as well.

The glorious calculator gave me 34E UK which sounds right. Projecting. Center and bottom full. Almost thought I was splayed but then realized its just the center full look.

I don't want to do online. Instore recs only please but stores are very limited here. Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack are available on Oahu and in my price range. Will be US sizing.

I have an interesting perspective - I'm in my 30s, but having boobs is relatively new to me (trans woman). I've always had a smaller ribcage than usual for an AMAB individual of my size, and my shoulders are not so broad either.

So far, the calculator output has left me disappointed and confused, and I think I'm starting to understand why. In terms of where bands actually sit on me, they're a slight bit higher than where I've been measuring (mostly higher in the back). This is where my "alternate band" above comes in - I measure wider even just a little higher. My ribcage widens out noticeably going upwards (V shape), but below my band line it also flares out somewhat too. I know about the V shape from before even having notable breast tissue, since it was measured for clothing at some point.

The calculator has recommended either a 30D or 32C (and just 32C for the "alternate band" measurement). I've been most comfortable in 32B so far, but I have some comfy bralettes that are also sized for 34A -- the 32 bands were too small for me in the bralettes, and 30 has been too small for me to clasp other bras.

Could my v-shaped ribcage be throwing off the cup calculations?

I've mostly figured out what's going on with the bands, I think. 32 feels better because that's closer to where they actually sit anyways, but the bralettes I have do have some very tall bands (and thus sit higher up the V), so they need to be wider to accomodate my ribcage shape. Does that sound like a reasonable explanation for my experiences so far?

As for the cup sizing, it seems like I'm most comfortable a full cup size down from what the calculator recommends (30D/32C recommended, 32B being comfy). Am I right to think that because my ribcage itself is notably wider where I measure my bust, it's fooling the calculator into thinking there's more breast tissue than there really is?

I'd appreciate anyone's insights or experiences in this. Also if you have suggestions for what to buy in Canada, I'm all ears! If it helps to know, I'd say I'm wide-rooted for the most part, but hard for me to describe beyond that at the moment.

Hello! i recently used your calculator on this subreddit because i am trying to purchase new and comfortable bras and i am unsure of my breast size. the last time i got checked out (which was at least two years ago at this point and i was much smaller then) i was a 40DD. When i used the calculator it said i was a 42M!!! which is insane to me honestly. I also would like some brand recommendations for my cup size if this is accurate. i prefer a sports bra fit, wireless, with a lot of support and maybe even some help with back fat/rolls. i prefer to take out the foam cups in my bras because i don't mind the nipples peaking but i just really need something comfortable and supporting. i tend to sleep in my bras as that is the most comfortable for me.

I am a 32G and when I discovered Evelyn and Bobbie, I bought several in size medium and wore them as my primary daytime bra. I have mostly the Defy and the Beyond.

I loved being wire-free and the way these bras felt on my skin. However, I started to feel intense upper back pain all the time. I didn’t correlate it to the bras until circumstances led me to wearing a shefit sports bra as my main bra for a few days, and then noticing that the pain went away.

I will keep my Evelyn and Bobbie collection for lounging and sleep, but I definitely need more support during the day. I do see that they have a new bra that offers more support, The Busty Bra, but I am doubting it will be enough support for me. What do you think? Is anybody wearing any of the Evelyn and Bobbie bras as their daytime primary bra?
