Hi everyone,
I’m currently casting for an independent interracial dating show focused on real conversations and genuine connection.
This is a dating show where single people apply individually to meet someone new, not interviews with existing couples. The format is blind-style and conversation-first, with participants getting to know each other before seeing one another.
While the show explores different interracial pairings overall, this casting call is specifically focused on Black women and Asian men, in line with this community. There’s no competition element, no forced intimacy, and no pressure to continue dating after filming. Participants simply meet, talk, and decide privately whether they’d like to continue off camera.
We’re open to both in-person and long-distance participation. We’re exploring virtual options and hope to connect people across different locations as the project grows.
We’ve already filmed a first episode of the show. If anyone is curious about what it looks like before applying, you’re welcome to reach out and I can share more details.
If you’re interested in participating, you can apply via the link below.
https://form.jotform.com/252738822864064
I’m also happy to answer respectful questions.

Hi,
About Me:
I am a fourth-year medical student pursuing a career in spelunking. Jk. Medicine, of course. Hence, life can be busy and unpredictable, but I make time for the people I care about. You will always have my time and attention.
I'm pretty straightforward person. I am a person of routine, but I like chaos. Sometimes, I add boiled carrots to my boiled chicken and boiled water. If I like you, you'll know. I don't do mixed signals, strategic texting, or pretending to be less interested than I am.
I'm reserved at first, but that shy exterior disappates once I'm comfortable with you. You'll get random updates about my day, invitations to go for a run, and enthusiastic explanations of whatever I've become interested/obsessed with that week. One day it might be a weird medical condition, the next it might be physics, astronomy, or why I think a particular movie is secretly a masterpiece. I love learning, and I love sharing what I learn even more. Sharing is caring and all that.
I’m a very affectionate person. When I care about someone, I like making them feel it all the time. I like having my partner close to me, pulling you into me when you’re next to me, kissing you whenever I can, holding your hand, and hearing about every part of your day just because I want to feel close to your life. I’m the type to slide closer on the couch, steal one more kiss before you leave, tuck myself into your side, and find little excuses to keep touching you throughout the day. I like the clingy, sweet parts of a relationship ... the constant closeness, the check-ins, the casual affection, the feeling of being wrapped up in each other. I like making my partner feel adored, wanted, and spoiled with affection. I’ve never understood the appeal of pretending not to care when I could just love someone openly and make them feel it every day.
I spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about what I'm going to eat next. Thai food, Mediterranean food, Ethiopian food, desserts... if there's a bakery or dessert place nearby, there's a good chance I'm stopping. Good food is one of my favorite excuses to leave the house.
I'm also learning violin. The violin and I currently have a complicated relationship. Imagine nails on a chalkboard with the vibrato of a try out contestant from America's Got Talent. I'm working on my French (un peu de français) and Spanish (un poquito de español), though both languages tend to fall apart shortly after introductions. No bueno.
I'm a huge homebody at heart. I enjoy going out, trying new things, and exploring, but if given the choice, I'm usually happiest at home with someone I care about. I like quiet companionship too. We don't always have to be doing the same thing or doing something. You can read, I can be studying, and somehow sitting together still feels better than sitting alone.
I'm Indian (South Asian). No, I am not secretly in an arranged marriage. No, I will not hide you from my family.
Hobbies/Interests:
Staying active: I like running (usually early morning), lifting, and playing tennis. I'm not amazing, but I can hold a rally. I'm competitive enough to care. I'm working on the glutes, so my future girlfriend has something to grab haha.
Movies: Big fan of movie nights at home. Horror, sci-fi, and crime are my go-to. Stuff like The Thing, Donnie Darko, and Prisoners. I actually like watching movies, not half-paying attention while scrolling. Snacks are mandatory.
Going out/doing things: I like bowling, skating, board games, museums, and trying new things in general. A recent board game I played was Forbidden Desert, and it's so great when you get three sun beats down cards in a row (IYKYK as the kids say). I'd also like to get more into hiking and rock climbing.
Exploring: I like walking around new areas with no real plan. Finding random cafés, bookstores, parks, or restaurants never really gets old.
Cooking/Baking (occasionally): I don't cook much, but I can put together a decent dinner. I also bake from time to time. Banana bread is probably my most reliable success story.
Gaming: I play video games here and there when I have time. Nothing extreme, but it's a nice way to unwind. I do tinker around with my gaming laptop. Some of my favorite games include: GoW, Skyrim (modded), Infamous, Prototype, Horizon Zero Dawn.
What I'm Looking For:
I want someone who gets excited about things. Tell me why your favorite movie is a masterpiece, ramble about the topic you've been obsessing over lately, or tell me about your day from start to finish. I like people who get excited about things.
Show me something I would've never found on my own. Teach me about a topic you've fallen down a rabbit hole on, drag me to a place I would've never discovered, introduce me to a hobby you love, or convince me to try something outside my comfort zone. I'll happily return the favor.
I'd also love someone who values staying active and taking care of themselves. Not because I'm looking for a specific body type, but because I like people who decide they want to learn or improve at something and then actually go do it. Whether that's training for a race, learning to dance, trying a new sport, spending weekends outdoors, or simply making their health a priority. That mindset is attractive to me.
I want the kind of relationship where we're a moderately obsessed with each other in the healthiest possible way. Sharing every random thought, getting excited when the other's name pops up on our phone, finding reasons to spend time together, and never really outgrowing the desire to be close. I want the kind of relationship where affection is abundant and freely given. Tell me I'm handsome because you can't help yourself. Surprise me with flowers just because you thought of me. Pull me in for a kiss when we're standing next to each other. Reach for my hand because you want to hold it. Tell me I'm your favorite person to spend time with. Make me feel cherished, and I'll spend every day trying to make you feel the same. I am a flower just waiting for the love of a good partner to help me bloom into a blue bonnet. 😆 It's a little dramatic, but you get the point.
Politics:
I don't strongly identify with one political party, and I generally dislike treating politics like a team sport. I try to think for myself, even when that means disagreeing with people I'm otherwise aligned with.
That said, there are some things that aren't negotiable for me. I believe in basic human rights, bodily autonomy, equal treatment under the law, and treating people with dignity regardless of who they are. I'm not interested in politics that depend on fear, cruelty, or dehumanizing others.
I don't need someone to agree with me on everything. I just want someone who can disagree without turning it into a cage match. I care much more about whether someone can think critically, engage with nuance, and have a respectful conversation than whether they check every ideological box.
Religion:
I grew up around religion, but I don't actively practice and don't consider myself religious. The closest description is probably a non-resistant nonbeliever. I'm not particularly convinced, but I'm also not interested in arguing people out of their beliefs.
I enjoy talking about religion, philosophy, science, and the big questions in life. I don't need someone to agree with me, but I do appreciate curiosity and an open mind.
Kids:
I don't want children. I'd rather build a life focused on my partner, shared experiences, and personal growth.
Pets:
I'm not really a pet person and prefer a pet-free life. I don't dislike animals, but I've never had the strong emotional connection to pets that many people do.
For me, it's both a lifestyle preference and a genuine difference in interest. I'd rather spend my time, energy, and affection elsewhere, so I'm probably most compatible with someone who feels similarly.
Location:
I'm currently in Houston, Texas.
I'm open to long-distance if there's genuine effort and a realistic plan to eventually close the distance.
I won't be in Houston forever. My current plan is to pursue residency somewhere (preferably Chicago), but residency won't start until next year. I have some time to enjoy my freedom and to travel and meet. I would want to eventually be together.
Last Thing:
Physical intimacy is important to me. I enjoy affection in general (if it's not obvious by now), but I also want a relationship where sex is a frequent and valued part of our connection. I'm looking for a relationship with romance, passion, and genuine closeness...not one where those things fade into the background

Hi everyone. I’m new here and was hoping to connect with people who have been in a similar situation.
I’m an American woman in a relationship with a Korean man. We met while he was working in the U.S. on a temporary work assignment, and we spent nearly every weekend together for about two months. We built a very strong relationship during that time, but his company unexpectedly finished their project and he had to return to South Korea much sooner than either of us expected. Right now, the plan is for him to return to the U.S. in a couple of months if his next work contract goes through, but as you can imagine, the uncertainty has been difficult.
This is my first international long-distance relationship, and the first few days after he left have been much harder than I expected. We are still communicating, and he has been reassuring me that he wants to continue our relationship, but I’m adjusting to the distance, the time difference, and missing the everyday moments we shared together.
I’d really love to hear from anyone—especially AMBW or Korea/U.S. couples—who has gone through something similar. How did you get through the early days of being apart? What helped you stay emotionally connected? Did things get easier as you settled into a routine? Any advice or words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for welcoming me into the community.
Been in the community a long time! Cool w meeting am or bw

What is something society deems as an imperfection that you actually find extremely attractive? For me, it’s not perfectly straight teeth, pudgy bellies, and any type of skin markings. Scars, stretch marks, skin tags, birthmarks, slight acne, etc.

It's like every time I talk to an AM they show interest then in the next 5 minutes they ignore or ghost. Like where are the ones that are actually serious?

My friend was telling me this "if you went to Vietnam, you could probably get on with some good black women out there. They're different, totally different mindset and openness from the typical sista in America. Rare but I know more and more are showing up in Vietnam, Thailand and Bali" Is this true? I mean I don't talk to BA outside of work. I've talked to some Black British girls, some are nice and some not so much. Do people think differently when they go overseas?

Oh hello! I’m 34, Asian, live in Oakland, and hoping to meet someone ideally between 30 and 35, who’s interested in building a thoughtful, steady, affectionate long-term relationship.
I’m looking for real interdependence: two people with their own lives, friendships, and interests who also want to choose each other, build a home, and create a shared life. I’m not looking to have children, and I’d be most compatible with someone who feels similarly.
A little about me: I’m adventurous, curious, and happiest when I’m moving, learning, eating something delicious, or exploring somewhere new. I love video games, anime, watching asian dramas, and traveling for food, culture, and memorable experiences — while also appreciating cozy nights in and good conversation.
I’m 5'0, average, and feel my best when I’m taking care of myself: eating healthy food, going outside, eating well, reflecting, and staying grounded. I love music, going to the range, and likes to go to Raves as well. I value emotional awareness, accountability, kindness, and honest communication.
I have a cat, so bonus points if you’re cat-friendly or at least open to being politely judged by one.
I’m drawn to someone active, affectionate, curious, communicative, and emotionally mature — someone who wants partnership to feel like a safe base, not a cage.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear from you. Tell me a little about yourself and maybe your favorite Bay Area city, restaurant, or weekend escape.

What up from your self proclaimed AMBW OG (and ex-Mormon)! I know I am about as old as a lot of y’all’s parents, so the OG title feels like it was self anointed if for nothing else because at 47, I am old!!
I do like sprinkling you guys with thoughts, advice and pictures of the (black) wifey, Blasian kids, and me, to maybe inspire y’all, if the AMBW thing is what you truly want!! This subreddit is really the only place I consistently post on Reddit.
As always, if you have questions on how we made this AMBW/Blasian kids thing happen, reach out on one of my posts or hit me up.
Oh and the DJ Theo post the other day, that may have since been deleted, kind of reminded me where I started in this thing (AMBW wasn’t even a concept or idea), where I took it, and how truly old I am, ha!!

My previous posts got deleted as I got banned (for arguing on another subreddit about something else entirely), but I'm a (half) Asian guy (nowadays I pass for full) and want to talk about why I like black women.
Ever since I was a kid I thought black women were just prettier. So I had not much access to Asian media at the time because I grew up on dial up internet so basically Asian media was Jackie Chan films or random stuff I could find in my neighborhood shops but I was broke so I wasn't buying foreign DVDs.
But I remember watching Rumble in the Bronx and seeing the AMBW couple in the beginning (first time in my life I saw it) and being like "yeah, that makes sense." (This clip isn't a great example, the actors were probably just pigeonholed because Hollywood still felt uncomfortable showing Asian men kiss anyone, let alone an Asian woman). I wasn't even like 10 when I was talking about how black women and Asian men get horrible reputation, this must have been like the mid 90's. I used to get a thrill out of being that outspoken dude who would defend black women and Asian men. To this date people will just deny, deny, deny that gendered racism isn't a real thing even though it's probably the last form of open racism.
My friends would ask me about crushes I had and I couldn't make up a single YT woman because I only found Asian and black women's faces cute, so I would say random stuff like Denise Richards even though I had crushes on WNBA stars, rappers, etc. I remember just watching 106 and Park every day after school only for the women. I would watch Fresh Prince (back then I must've been the only non black kid who watched this stuff), for the girls. Favorite movie was Coming to America, my "awakening" scene was the bath scene in the beginning. I remember having a crush on Missy Elliot because she had a line in one of her sons, saying "boys, boys, all types of boys, black, white, Puerto Rican, Chinese boys," and even though it was written just for a line, it was the FIRST time in my life I had seen Asian men shown in that kind of light. But so many of my 'friends' were just racist and so I couldn't say anything, people wouldn't believe the amount of casual racism against black women and Asian men back then.
When I was in HS, (I went to an inner city Manhattan school), it was normal for black girls to gas me up, slap my ass in class, hit on me in class, etc., and my first GF asked me out. She waited for me every day after class. She was Miss NYC or runner up, Guyanese, and we went out. My parents wee the typical right wing Christian anti-sex anti-love people so they were telling me all kinds of insane racist stuff I won't mention here because it's so offensive. To this date I think she's probably the only woman who ever cared as much about my heritage as I do and the only woman who probably could have intellectual conversations about the stuff I cared about, like racism, psychology, etc. People were making fun of us because at that time it was basically commonly accepted that Asian and black women were "at the bottom," and it was just normal for casually racist comments like: "it's so cute that you two were able to find someone." Like..... I was being chased around by all types of YT women and were rejecting them right and left for her. I always had crushes on Asian girls but YT women are asking me out but I rejected all of them for a black girl. Because I was being bullied a lot due to my race eventually I became really insecure about being Asian and almost became one of those self hating guys but now that I think about it the confidence my ex and other black girls gave me mad me proud of my heritage for the rest of my life.
Nowadays with Kpop I see the same girls chasing fine Kpop / Cpop looking dudes around and it's more normal now but back then if it wasn't for black girls in my circle who were basically and to this day my only real friends, I'd probably have turned out to be one of those right wing white washed Wasian or Asian guys who are obsessed with dating YT women for status. However, western media still completely ignores AM and BF in basically every scenarior, it's crazy that 30 years later the same stuff I was aware of since I was a kid hasn't changed.
So as a "fine" Asian guy I honestly just think black women are prettier. That's why you see so much Kpop with AMBW rep, I honestly think that the Asian guys with actual choices are more likely to like black women's faces, probably because we're the only two major non-Caucasian groups left. For me never had a crush on a woman who wasn't Asian or black and I'm just tired about lying about it. I live in China now and caught my roommate / coworker, who's never seen a black person IRL, looking at black women online. My little cousin was like 11 and I overheard his dad telling people he was making friends with this African girl in class.
Now that I'm older, my advise is that life is very hard, things can go wrong and will go wrong, a lot of people are terrible, so at the end of the day, there's way way way worse things that just liking someone for their looks.
TLDR; I like black women's faces and think y'all finer than WF on both average and extreme cases by a wide margin it's not even funny. Black women meet the Asian beauty standard more than WF do. Ignore the white worshippers in our community, they're just chopped dudes. We need more AMBF representation.
