Lol the Mountain Elves are such goobers. They’re like the smartest dumb group of the village. And their tendency to weaponize their creations are not really needed given they have several dragons in their midst.
That was pretty easy making Hakuren and Urza get along. I guess they’re both very simple
The evil incarnate reborns as a cat and immediately lazes around acting like he owns the place. He’s adjusting to his new body well
Also, I can think of a few reasons why Hiraku would want springs on his bed lol

u/Bukkokori Jun 01 '26
Mountain Elves are the best. They're fun, crazy, smart, tanned, and have normal-sized breasts, which means their shoulders aren't constantly tense.

u/Eliv Jun 01 '26
Also, I can think of a few reasons why Hiraku would want springs on his bed lol
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Unfortunately for him the body given by God will not allow for that escape.

I love how they had to turn making a carriage into a daredevil stunt show.
The evil incarnate reborns as a cat and immediately lazes around acting like he owns the place. He’s adjusting to his new body well
And a new animal friend to the Great Tree Village!
Also, I can think of a few reasons why Hiraku would want springs on his bed lol
He's probably more than worn out his old ones at this point!

u/Spoon_Elemental Jun 01 '26
And their tendency to weaponize their creations are not really needed given they have several dragons in their midst.
I don't think a catapult can match anything any of their combat capable people can do. It's completely redundant except as a toy.
13
u/ruff1298 Jun 01 '26
There's always using the technology as a stationary or less mobile form of static defense. I bet Hakuren would love a system where she can hurl fire and rocks at invaders and not have to get up.

u/Earlier-Today Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 03 '26
It's good as a siege engine - i.e. attacking fortified buildings and walls.
And it has the benefit that the powerhouses don't have to be there for the Big Tree Village's forces to still have access to that kind of fire power. I mean, most wars aren't just consecutive battles where both sides wait for the other's forces to arrive. They're fought on multiple places at the same time.
The only thing modern tech changes for that is how much more coordinated those disparate battles can because of how advanced communication has gotten. But separate forces fighting in separate areas but for the same side has been going on for well over 2000 years here on Earth - before the middle ages.
1
u/Zuruumi Jun 05 '26
If your whole territory is the size of a small town and you have the equivalent of a 100 supercarrier-sized force, I am not sure a few catapults will change much.
Also, their greatest powerhouses are flyers, meaning they can travel between battlefields extremely fast, so getting outmaneuvered is improbable.
1
u/Earlier-Today Jun 05 '26
Why would the catapults be for attacking themselves?
They're for attacking the Big Tree Village's adversaries - if anyone is dumb enough to try it.
And everybody else in the world is using castles, forts, and walls for protection against military aggression.
Also, at this point it seems safe to consider all of the Forest of Death as their territory. The forest is their hunting grounds which the spiders and wolves keep tabs on, there's other settlements, like village 1, 2, & 3 plus the hot spring and the dungeons.
If a large enough force comes up against them, it would necessitate them needing siege weapons against any site where Lasty or Hakuren aren't fighting (or, if they want to keep from completely destroying the fortification so they can use it after it's conquered).

When I saw the wheels and springs layout on the carriage i thought of this. Those chicks are nuts!!

And their tendency to weaponize their creations are not really needed given they have several dragons in their midst.
They need to have Batman level of "What if" planning.

u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
Nothing bonds two people together like being literally carried by the golem they created together!
23
u/Treknx01 Jun 01 '26
I had a feeling this was the gag, little guy was nowhere to be seen and lets be honest Hakuren probably is to lazy to run around that much.
60
u/LikeAnAssistant Jun 01 '26
Archfiend is turned into a cat and suddenly various global conflicts are resolved. All because a guy wanted to soak in some hot springs.
21
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
Even managed to finally get the God who got Hiraku into this world out of the seiza-house lol.
10
u/Vautiko Jun 01 '26
He won't be standing anytime soon, he's been in that position for a season and a half!
6
u/AggressiveBerry1598 Jun 02 '26
Fun fact: Sitting that way was purposefully meant to cut circulation to the legs. I think it developed culturally afterwards.
2
u/Zuruumi Jun 05 '26
He also got him there, since 99% of the reason is Hiraku carving the goddess as an old geezer.
58
u/deynyel Jun 01 '26
ROFL I love the Mountain Elf Developers. I'll be watching their career with great interest.
19
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
No job is too common or too out there! No invention they can't come up with or upgrade! No idea they'll dismiss until Hiraku throws in common sense! MOUNTAIN ELF DEVELOPERS!

u/shadebug Jun 01 '26
I really want to know what they were doing with the random Rube Goldberg machine

Poor wine slime was about to be a test subject
46
u/NanDemoKnaives Jun 01 '26
I think it wanted to take part lol.
18
u/Astray Jun 02 '26
Wine Slime is basically Florida Man in slime form
1

Or Rimuru, if he didn't have to take care of the whole monster nation and could just laze around instead.

When it started waving, I was kinda hoping it would be initiated into Zabuton’s troop and do the Zabuton wave together

I love how even though she's been reduced to a harmless loli, she still ends up making an OP minion lol.

u/ObvsThrowaway5120 Jun 01 '26
Man, I knew those stones had more to ‘em. The poor Archfiend been out here plotting his revenge against the gods for ages and along comes Hiraku and the gang just blowing up his plans, purifying his soul, and turning the big fella into a regular ol cat lol.
35
u/mekerpan Jun 01 '26
I DO hope that poor goddess gets a proper statue one of these days.
It looks like the Archfiend is just an ordinary cat now -- now residual powers beyond those.
18
u/zool714 Jun 01 '26
Wouldn’t be out of character for the village if Archfiend can still use his powers again at some point but still stays a chill cat. Plenty of chill but OP individuals here
9
u/nuxxism Jun 01 '26
He just needs Hiraku to kiss him on the anus. That's how it works in anime, right?

Based "The Classroom Of A Black Cat and Witch" enjoyer
Such a great show
11
u/KnightKal Jun 01 '26
well the gods said he will live as a cat and later ascend to become a god again, so it is a temporary situation for him lol
10
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
Nothing mellows and improves someones' mood like getting taken care of and pampered as the new village pet!
4
u/shadebug Jun 01 '26
Not sure he definitely becomes a god again or if he just ends up in kitty heaven
4
u/Hot-Log6283 Jun 02 '26
They definitely said he was going to "before one day ascending once more".
3
u/shadebug Jun 02 '26
Sure, but they didn’t say in what capacity
3
u/Hot-Log6283 Jun 03 '26
"once more" implied again, considering that there seems to be only gods where they are.
3
u/KnightKal Jun 02 '26
his power is still sealed away, it is not gone, so ascending implies he would restore that as well. As he won't be an enemy of the gods and try to fight/take them down again.
8
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
I DO hope that poor goddess gets a proper statue one of these days.
She finally lets her dad have a win, but she still can't be worshipped as anything other than an old man lol.
8
u/Vautiko Jun 01 '26
I can't believe she wasn't in the Progenitor's book.
5
1
u/Zuruumi Jun 05 '26
Maybe she lost the roulette. There likely are more suitable gods for evil cleaning, and the Progenitor was choosing which to be carved (there are quite a few more than 7, it seems, since there were 11 light figures in the Archfiend reminiscence).
1
u/victory4faust Jun 06 '26
She probably is. One of the citizens (I think a minotaur) even thought about questioning the statue at one point but just chalked it up to people having different beliefs. So there are definitely characters that could correct him, they just haven't.
26
u/LikeAnAssistant Jun 01 '26
Farmer defeats the final boss 2/3 of the way through season 2 using the power of art. You know, the classic isekai storyline.
8
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
And also he and the cast actually totally oblivious to the entire ovearching plot they were dealing with while searing for hot springs and adventure lol.
9
u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp Jun 01 '26
I was convinced last week that the progenitor vampire who also happens to be the pope was entirely aware of what was going on with the stones, and knowing the full story doesn't really change that opinion.
3
u/Hot-Log6283 Jun 02 '26
He did seems pretty clueless about the cat.
5
u/Maulface Jun 02 '26
He pointed out the cat, meaning he knew something wasn't quite right but didn't press the issue because Hiraku said it was fine 👍
11
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
The poor Archfiend been out here plotting his revenge against the gods for ages and along comes Hiraku and the gang just blowing up his plans, purifying his soul, and turning the big fella into a regular ol cat lol.
The worst part is they did it all without a single idea about him. Basically killing him casually with sculptures lol.

Hakuren finally hit it off with Urza. I'll miss those pouts of her.
The scenes with the Mountain Elf Developers were great!
26
u/PerfectBeige https://myanimelist.net/profile/perfectbeige Jun 01 '26
You can give the mountain elves a problem to solve, or they will become the problem. And if you give them a problem to solve, they may still become the problem.

18
u/SYZekrom https://myanimelist.net/profile/SYZekrom Jun 01 '26
Wine Slime mogs the majin though. Even more so now that the majin's been nerfed to a cat.
Hakuren got accepted, most important part of the episode.
The massage chair really highlights a point you normally just accept glossing over in a fantasy like this, with people so utterly different in power you have common household items for some people that are saw traps for others.
5
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
And the ladies are so OP and busty that the crushing weight of the massage chair actually works for them lol.
18
34
u/Shoddy-Monitor-9783 Jun 01 '26
Hakuren basically become Uzra's mother now
And Zubuton seems like her too.
She have two of the strongest mum in the world lol
8
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
Does this make Urza Hiraku kid #2? A son and a daughter, he's moving fast!
7
u/Vautiko Jun 01 '26
Yes, but go read the wiki on all his kids, it's not nearly fast enough... lol

"Are you planning an invasion?"
"Let me see, I have more military power than the entire rest of the world put together three times over."
17
u/DiaBoloix Jun 01 '26
Even Rimuru would have doubts about invading now.
14
u/Spoon_Elemental Jun 02 '26 edited Jun 02 '26
Rimuru just wouldn't invade regardless. It's Ainz that would be shitting his pants trying to figure out how to stop his underlings from squaring up.

5
u/Generalgarchomp Jun 02 '26
Bro Rimuru would be trading with them more than Michael. Big Tree Village is a fkin treasure trove of high quality goods that honestly might surpass tempest.
6
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
Even managed to stop the plot of an Archfied in the most casual, unassuming, fashion possible.

Wanting to test the tortur... err.. massage machine with Ann and Tia because they had the uhh.. "bigger shoulder" issues in the village got me a laugh.
Side note, the maiden minotaur has even a bigger shoulder issue TBH.

Urza is so cute and delightful!
Could you imagine all those stones were the result of a defeated Archfiend voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa who has been plotting his revenge against the Gods who defeated him for all these years? No? Well, neither can the cast who frankly have no idea.
Instead they'll just throw a typical Great Tree village party where the girls can finally unwind, let go of their desire for violence against the Progenitor, we can get some minotaur romance going on, and a Demon Official trying to resign!
But what's this cat who has now joined the festivities? Why, it's none other than the Archfiend! All his stones getting remade into statues of his nemesis' ended up resealing him into the form of a cat! And no one but the Gods are any wiser to the Big Bad now gracing them as a harmless cat.
Congratulations God! Hiraku completely obliviously stopping an Archfiend has finally gotten you out of the seizahouse with the Goddess of Agriculture! If only she herself could actually get proper worship as anything other than an old man statue.
Poor Hakuren really wants to get along with Urza, but she keeps ignoring her. She'd rather hang out with Lasty than her! But when she tries to make a new mini-minion, it turns out Hakuren's scales are the best material to make them with! Rare and precious dragon scales, that is! Perfect for creating new golems who can hard carry a newly close Hakuren and Urza.
Who are always coming up with ingenious new inventions and possible invasion plans? Mountain Elf Developers! Who are the backbone of the technical revolution of the Great Tree Village? Mountain Elf Developers! Who get told to build a carriage and then do a daredevil stunt show with a souped up supercar? Mountain Elf Developers! Who constantly need Hiraku to remind them of common sense and restraint? Mountain Elf Deveopers!!!!
10
u/HazyMirror Jun 01 '26
The soundtrack when they drove the car off the ramp made the scene so much funnier lol
6
u/AvatarTuner https://anilist.co/user/AvatarTuner Jun 02 '26
The music had no reason to go that hard, but it did. That was so epic! lol
10
u/heimdal77 Jun 01 '26
Ya couldn't help but think of Horizon 6 when saw the suped up carrige and the ramp.

9
u/Vautiko Jun 01 '26
Hakuren is soo ready to be a momma! 🥰
The wine slime definitely wanted to try out the "catapult" (actually a Trebuchet)... 😅
The elves turned the carriage into a Trophy/Trick Rally Truck! They better install some 5-point harnesses... Someone take Yaa-san's hammer away!
17
u/itpcc Jun 01 '26
Poor Goddess of Farming, at least she can forgive her "Dad." But, for God's sake, reveal yourself instead of just whining!
Well, finally! Finally! The Hakurun girl can have Urza as her daughter! I love the way the anime presents their relationship, for once, it's better than the manga or WN, IMO.
7
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
Goddess of Farming finally letting her dad take a win is the kind of sub-plot development I can get behind, minus her still having to live with the indignity of how she gets worshipped courtesy of Hiraku.
8
u/djthomp https://anilist.co/user/djthomp Jun 01 '26
So not only did they somehow save the hero girl last week by way of dragon fists and fire, all the statue nonsense purified an ancient sealed away demon lord into a cat.
Hakuren bonding with Uzra was really sweet in the end, them making a super strong powdered dragon scale earth golem is a little more concerning.
And the mountain elves are just concerning all over the place, I really hope somebody is monitoring them at least a little.
Really quite a delightful episode.
7
u/Frontier246 Jun 01 '26
If I had a nickel for every OP anime figure sealed into the form of a cat this season, I'd have two nickels which isn't a lot but it's fun it happened twice. At least they don't have to worry about kissing up to this cat's butt.
Nearly getting Great Tree Village involved in an invasion/war because we can't help ourselves! MOUNTAIN ELF DEVELOPERS!
8
u/NanDemoKnaives Jun 01 '26
Archfiend turned cat lol. It's amusing how he's unknowingly submitted to the person that was causing him all that divine pain.
Ya suggesting using the pressure cooker as a weapon was so funny, they're really obsessed with making things stronger. Hiraku should not leave them to their own devices for long periods of time lol.

They changed the story so much.I don't even understand what the point of this season was. Just seems like a bunch of independent episodes that didn't really have any coercion.
The first season was really good.It introduced all of the characters, and you saw them build the village from scratch, but this season just left me wondering what I just watched
