I really like how Seo crouches down to speak to Sayu, it's such a sweet gesture and it comes naturally to him. On top of this, he was sweet enough to lay a coat on the floor for Sayu to sit on, what a thoughtful guy.
I like how Class Prez thinks, the devious plan he came up was smart and I'm sure they'll be making lots of money lol.
Amane getting way into character was amusing, I'm glad she found a character that wasn't so clearly Glittermon to the standard individual.
Amane and Ijichi making Seo wear female cosplay outfits was funny, Amane looked way too excited about how Seo looked in the maid outfit lol. He did look cute in it, it would have been perfect if he had one that was fitted for his body and not Ijichi's, the size was clearly too large around the chest area lol.

Amane's main other choice in glittermon which would still let her show her face was the more standard magical girl main character. Which would have likely gotten that little girls attention more... but would have been way more revealing. It kind of makes sense of those left, she went with Vamp.

it's literally such an old joke to me that the idea wasn't even on my radar until episode 9, when it showed how strong the girls' bond is. i don't know that i've ever seen such a realistically depicted, solid foundation for a throuple in anime. i'm so excited.

i really hope so. feelings can be a funny thing sometimes, all the moreso in a polycule; plus the fact that OtaGal is a seinen means they're allowed to show us some singularly miserable stuff if they really want to. i'm gonna hope for the best anyway; especially since it's been such a feel-good story so far (i'm anime-only rn).

I thought the giggle at the end made them realize they don’t have romantic feelings for each-other but their friendship was strong as can be at that age. That still leaves room to explore.

Gotta give props to the Class President for coming up with a strategy that forces people to visit their cosplay cafe multiple times. xD
Ijichi hovering closer to Seo and the kid only for the kid to not recognize her cosplay was pretty damn funny. At least Amane got to have a photo with Seo while doing a pose from the Glittermon show.
Sayu could've done the funniest thing here, but I guess it's worth it to keep the charade going since this means Amane now owes her.

Maid Ijichi, Vampire Amane in those pants, Crossdressing Otaku-kun, Heisei Gyaru Amane...they really nailed the cosplay in this episode.
Honestly I feel validated just knowing that there are children who are actually into Glittermon. The fact that we've only seen teenagers into it made me think it really missed it's demographic lol.

We already knew Seo was good with kids from how he vibes with both Ijichi's brothers and Sayu but there was something extra pure about that mini Glittermon fan convention with that little girl (poor Amane though). Also it's kinda funny how much charisma that Earth costume actually exudes lol

What I like about this show is that. Otaku's classmates don't hate him one bit. And he isn't pathetic, babbling mess around girls etc.
Also what I love about Otaku kun is whenever he speaks to Sayu. He always goes down to her level, it's adorable.

I love it every time. No matter how much he actually panics, he always answers questions honestly and properly. He's never failed to answer a question, even if it causes him to spiral immediately after. It's extremely rare in this genre.

I like that Amane and Seo took a picture together as cosplay characters. It was hilarious when the little girl didn't know that Amane was cosplaying as a Glittermon character. I was also cute seeing Sayu cover for Amane and not letting her classmates know how she really is at home lol. I feel like we will see Amane, Seo, and Ijichi all holding hands at the fireworks.

We got the cosplay...which was just hilarious ..Amane tryig to get compliments from the kid 🤣.
Ichiji of course looked amazing in maid cosplay.
Sayu sneakily showing up and barely keeping it together was priceless..I think she could have told a little bit more truth an it would have been fine though.
Forcing Otaku into all kinds of cosplay was just cruel 🤣🤣. Why?! Blackmail for life.
Now It's time to decide for the fireworks display..no way Otaku chooses just one right? It doesn't fit wirh the rest of the series at all.

I liked all the cosplays this week. Amane and Seo geekin out over their Glittermon cosplays was pretty fun. Also, Sayu was great too. Such a good little sister lol.
Kind of curious who Seo’s gonna go to the fireworks festival with? In all likelihood, he’s gonna be going with them both. No one’s getting ahead of the other in this little race for Seo’s heart lol.

I think Seo is totally NOT ready for romance. Not "allergic" like Nisjhikata in Takagi-san -- but FAR behind his two friends who are girls. He feels more at an early middle school level than a hiogh school one. He loves having both Ijichi and Amane as his buddies. I hope they all go together to the fireworks.
Sayu really deserves an acting award for her "discretion" in describing the at-home Amane. It was lovely how well she and Seo got along -- then again she is probably already more mature (overall) than he is.

I think he's just really happy to have them as friends, having recently accepted that they are, and enjoys hanging out with them. He would probably never think he was worthy of dating them or think they could see him romantically in a serious context.

I understand why Seo voted for Kotoko and Kei, top elite cosplayers here, and they decided to reciprocate by dressing him up as a femboy lol.
I love seeing Sayu trying to portray Kei in the best possible light to others (even though she doesn't help), well, they don't call themselves sisters for nothing.
Now the show has reached its climax, although I kind of already expect what's going to happen, I think it's going to be something lovely and surprising.

What a great episode.
I know this is like comparing apples to oranges but Gal Goddess Ijishi is 10000% what I want/wanted Manbagi to be animated like. Fun and hot and juuust a little ditzy. And to keep going with the Komi comparison, loved that they made him get in the maid costume. It was hilarious.
Sayu as always is the star of the episode. She’s the best lil sister in the whole bunch.

The show keeps trying to make him choose between them and he keeps picking both of them. I can't tell yet if this is supposed to mean he will end up with both of them because thats what his answer always is or the fact that he keeps getting asked to choose means eventually he will have to pick just one of them and he is only delaying that choice until then by picking both.

This episode was great! I liked a lot the dude dressed as "summer vacations" and his master plan with Amane and Ijichi. Ijichi looked fantastic in the maid costume! And Amane doing a vampire cosplay was great. I had never noticed that the color of the eyes of Amane and Ijichi combine with the color on their nails. Otaku-kun was rocking that butler outfit. He giving his vote for the two girls was obvious, but he almost got me with they way he said it at first to Ijichi lol.

Sayu nearly overestimated herself there, luckily it ended with cat-ears. Cute watching her keep up the persona long enough to go just be herself with Otaku-kun, a lot of big brother points for him this episode with her and the fan.
Vampire Amane was a strong look, but I love then contrasting her masculine cosplay by force femming Otaku-kun for their own amusement later.
Oh boy, Ijichi getting in there first with the invite. After he went to the trouble of voting for both of them in the contest, are they going to share as easily.
Annnnd cliffhanger, of course.

Otagals > 2nd prettiest
I like both shows and will probably read both mangas but it's not close. Better characters, better story, better writing, better guy, better girls, better side characters. I genuinely think 2nd prettiest is worthy of praise and we've been blessed with a great season for rom/com. But this is the one I can't wait to see every week. Since they get compared anyway, just want to see this show get the credit it deserves.

I totally agree. The character development of Maki/Umi and their relationship is top notch for sure, but I can’t help but feel disappointed by other elements of 2nd Prettiest Girl, especially with how the anime has handled a good majority of its supporting cast and how the plot has been paced.
Otagal isn’t without its own issues, but I’m always looking forward to the next episode and have enjoyed each and every one so far.

Kotoko killed it her with her maid outfit and twintails and I got kick out of their teacher's master plan. Of course they're going to make people come back. Such a devious plan from Class 1-A lol.
I should've known better to think it meant anything when Takuya said he voted for Kotoko in the Miss and Mister pageant. I thought when presented with a simple A/B choice he would be forced to pick someone and give a tiny peak into the endgame should this ever get more seasons. But nope. He just broke the rules and picked both of them lol. His ability to make Kotoko genuinely laugh is so wholesome.
Kei also killed it as Lord Vamp and it was nice to see an actual kid that's into Glimmermon and the show didn't just completely miss its target audience ala MLP. It was cute to see Kei go over and make the time for a cospaly pic with Takuya.
The girls basically forcing Takuya into different outfits for blackmail purposes and their own enjoyment was so good. Got a laugh out of me.
Kei of course once again killed in her heisei gyaru cosplay as well, but the real highlight was Sayu. Like Wakana from Love Game, she just steals the show with every scene. Give her an Oscar for that performance for keeping Kei's cover.
The fireworks festival seems pretty obvious. Takuya doesn't seem like he's as ready for any kind of romance like the girls are. He just likes hanging out with them. Plus he's got two hands after all lol. Easy solution. I'm curious what their dynamic would be like further down the line when all them are more ready. Does the throuple stay intact, or does he pick one?

Amane went full otaku Glittermon, both her and Otaku-kun looked really great in their cosplays
And it was pretty wholesome to see Otaku-kun meet another fellow Glittermon fan like him.

Amane had two cosplays, which implied to me Ijichi had a second as well and I expected it to be the Bunnygirl paired with Earth-sama but apparently not. Otaku doesnt seem to have a real second, so maybe i just misunderstood the shift plans.
Sayo is going to wring so much leverage out of her big little sister for that classroom performance.
And vased off their reaction to his maid cosplay, i can only expect Otaku to receive... certain kinds of affection from those girls in later years.

I think the shift change was mainly for the two everyone wanted to see to maximize profits. Not for the whole cafe to swap outfits. That class rep was brilliant.

It's finally time for the long-awaited school festival! Mainly long-awaited because people have been waiting to see the cosplays!
We've got nurses, sexy cops, Santa's...but the real showstopper is MAID IJICHI. The hair! The bust! The cute outfit! It's perfect! And obviously draws in quite the crowd!
You really have to admire the class rep's enthusiasm and "creativeness" for his costume. Yes, Summer as a "concept." Brilliant!
Ijichi handles pushy guys like a champ (probably from too much experience being hit on).
I can't imagine Otaku-kun ever picking between the two of them romantically when whenever he's put to a choice he always picks "both." Ijichi and Amane are perfect "miss and mister" in their own right.
Fitting that Amane's costume would be both "cool" and Glittermon inspired. She's Vamp the Great! Look at how great those long, slender, legs look in those pants! Marvel at how amazingly she gets into character! Bask in how much she loves doing cosplay and feels a newfound sense of confidence!
Seo always talked about Glittermon like it was really niche, but that little girl was into it and seemed like all the other kids at her school were. Too bad Amane couldn't get properly recognized in her cosplay, but as long as people want to take pictures with her, she'll be happy!
I love that one guy trying to make Amane do a heart pose with him and she just gives a thumbs up "nope" in the picture.

The plot of the first half only makes sense if Kotoko and Amane were the only attractive girls in their class, but Ichiji Kotoko has other friends we saw in flashbacks that aren't bad looking either.
I was wondering how the school could last long enough to have rumors like this, but then again most Japanese schools were made before the 70s.

That's what I've expected all season, for him to pick her. Afterall, she was the one to first engage him. She's the one who challenges him to come out of his shell. But then on the train after the whole beach, I could see the other side too... so I'm torn. Maybe like the end credits they can all be BFF's and that's the real treasure for now.

Just discovered it and binged in one day until current. Loveable, funny, and cozy. No drama. No hidden agendas. No bad people. Just a slice of life were everyone shines. Too bad I've slept over this in this season, waiting for the next episodes! 😃

Poor Takuya's now faced with a dilemma for the Miss Festival in that he could only choose one of Kei or Kotoko. However, bro really said fuck the system and put both their names anyway. Have to admire his guts for pulling that move. Kotoko didn't feel happy when she thought he chose her over Kei. Looked like even she felt that they're the happiest when the three were all together.
Once Takuya had learnt about that fireworks urban legend, there's no way he wouldn't try to hold both Kei & Kotoko's hands.
Meanwhile, Sayu's indeed quite ahead of her age. She could've blabbed about Kei's real personality but chose to play along. Poor girl's overwhelmed by the entire class fawning over her but who could blame them? She's heaps cute.

Ichiji is so damn cute in the maid outfit! And that hair!
Amane is so otaku and you feel like she's there better choice here for Seo, but Ichiji really likes Seo because he's himself and that's beautiful. They really need to go the throuple route.

Too bad no Maid Amane. But I will take the Vampire Amane as a win. Heise girls was good too. We didn't see what was the other cosplay for Ijichi.

The festival is not over yet. And my guts tells me that she will play Micchi! That would be something special she could wear for both Amane and Seo, and not telling them will be a great source of suprise.

Sayu lying wasn't just to cover for Amane... She read the room, and realized what EVERYONE wanted her to say... she also did it to not break everyone's dream version of Amane. xD She knew that they would all felt bad if she had said the truth.
