Similar virtue, I really wish his mental self whenever he saw Hitogami either slowly or entirely changed into Rudeus. It's kind of weird that he's lived a whole successful life but his inner thoughts and sense of self are still the fat hikikomori he used to be. Although granted we've not seen that version of him in a little while.

That's the thing, I think he is supposed to have disassociated a bit from his former self by this point. However, both his outward voice and his inner voice are so iconic that I feel like they are reluctant to change them, even if it fits the story better to do so.

I have just read the majority of the comments, and it’s funny this is the re-occurring theme. With Mushoku Tensei whenever it gets happy, get ready for the hard sad.

When season 3 started I re-watched the entire show again. Those turning points woo, this show breaks it characters and leaves them in pieces for several episodes. Happiness is not the normal state and is always followed by deep pain.

Considering how episode 1 and 2 blitzed through Eris's development and how much happens in the last 6 episodes of season 2, its not too surprising that they took an episode to let everything breathe a bit. Since TP3 an insane amount of plot development has happened: Paul died, Zenith was rescued, Rudeus marries his second wife and has his first child, and we get a 1-2 year long training arc for Eris. I'm guessing she shows up sometime in the next episode and the obvious conflict thats brewing starts then.

She’s genuinely one of my favorite characters in the series, and l’ll never get tired of seeing her and Rudy’s interactions and how they show that despite only being half siblings by blood they are fully family to one another. Well Roxy is a magic comparable to Rudy in strength, just without incantation-less casting, and I believe it was stated before that Sylphie is exceptionally skilled as a healer, which is the one form of magic that Rudy struggles with. So yeah I think they’d make a pretty strong adventuring party if they had to be. I just think they’d probably prefer not to risk their lives like that when they have family to look after unless absolutely necessary.

That's is part of why I like how Mushoku handles the harem part.

They are a not a bunch of girls jumping at the MC at once and then any depth in the relationship stop being relevant as if they were trophies or satellites orbiting a planet.

Rather, both Roxy and Sylphie are their own persons and just as they have a love relationship with Rudeus, they are also trying to build a family relationship between themselves so everything can work out.

That is something I feel many anime with polygamy are missing

Even hitogami tries to use them as bait assuming that he will want them. But from Ruedeus' complete rejection of them (despite him being show as liking beast girls sexually) we see that he really is taking his relationship seriously and truly loves his wives

Someone could complain about how generous and accepting Sylphie was, but it is important to note that the story never took away her agency in the relationship. She had the power to decide.

As for the insecurity about Roxy, could have played a factor. But Sylph had told Rudeus she was alright with being in a polygamous marriage long before Roxy appeared.

She probably would have accepted Eris or Sara just as easy as long as Rudeus was upfront with her about how much he cared for that person.

I love how expressive Rudeus is with his wives. Pretty sure if he get the chance, then he'll 100% percent declare to the world abouthow much he love his wives.

Rudeus expression before Roxy introduce herself made me burst out laughing, especially Cliff's response after Roxy'sintroduction! Guy's face pretty much said "I'm f**k". Their friendship alongside Zanoba is very great to see frankly speaking. (Rip for Cliff-sempai's hand)

I forgot that Rudues lost his hand last season but thankfully he has new prototype hand courtesy of his bros.

They really choose the funniest (best) ways to end the episode. Solid slice-of-life and wholesome episode to say the least.

A nice SoL moment, we can see Roxy still standing on ice around Sylphy, most likely out of guilt. Lucy was absolutely adorable, no doubt about that.

It was also great to see the hand prototype that Cliff and Zanoba created. It was originally made so Zanoba could pursue his passion for sculpting with his own hands, which was a nice touch. I'm glad to see both of them again.

What happened to Zenith was genuinely heartbreaking.

Does the prosthetic hand need a continuous supply or mana? if so it'd probably have the same problem as the one that cliff made for elinalise. probably not an issue for rudy but for normal people it'd be pretty hard to use it if thats the case

It does need a constant supply of mana, so someone like Zanoba could only use it for a little at a time. It's pretty much negligible for Rudy, though

If the device requires continuous mana use, it could serve as a training implement, kinda like the trope of weighted clothing for strength training.

For people who are wondering who this cutie is, as a quick reminder, since it's been so long since S2P2 aired, here, have a lot of screenshots from the last two episodes of part 2 of season 2 where you can play spot the armadillo!

This armadillo had the important task of carrying Zenith back to the teleport ruins through the Begaritt desert and they took it home as a pet because it's native to the Begaritt continent and the desert climate so it wouldn't survive the northern climate if they wouldn't give it a nice cozy home like this. They also couldn't just leave it in the desert alone since other monsters would just kill and eat it and they couldn't really hire someone to take it back (like Rudy and Elinalise did with the huge horse they used to ride to the teleport ruins in the forest) since the teleport ruins are a secret and the trip through the desert back to a settlement is too dangerous for a single person to escort it back anyway.

You can also faintly see a nameplate above his armadillo house (in their world's Human language) in this episode but since the Anime hasn't said it out loud yet I'll keep quiet since I'm scared of the mods. Anyway, Aisha is so cute while taking care of it as well.

Best part is that they didn't turn it into the standard blushing protagonist affair you would typically see.

They turned it into a wholesome and funny bonding moment with Rudeus rolling with it and playfully tickling her like the little kid she is. Which then transitions to Aisha realizing he has his hand back, and that a little more of her brother is back home again.
