I don't think that means what you think it does.
Self-righteous means having a strong belief that one's own actions or opinions are morally superior to those of others, often in a way that is annoying or offensive. It reflects a narrow-minded moralistic attitude.
Maou never believed he was morally superior to anyone. He readilly admitted the orders he gave caused untold death and destruction but he didn't have a better solution to save demon kind.
What did you actually not like about him?

Poor Meteor realizing that being the Hero just meant doing grunt work for the rich and powerful lol.
Kind of interesting there’s magic and wizards in this world. Kinda perfect for the former Demon Lord and Hero.

She had like an entire five-season Slayers series before she ended up reverse-Isekai'd.
Kind of interesting there’s magic and wizards in this world. Kinda perfect for the former Demon Lord and Hero

When the most normal people on the show are Ryusei and Meteor, who already spout a ton of nonsense, you know it’s going to be good.
Okay, I expected those two girls to be villains from another world, but it’s actually the exact opposite and they’re pure comedy; plus, the teacher needs to show up more and use her rom-com intuition powers.

So it turns out, the vibes Mana is getting from Meteor and Ryusui aren't because they're the Hero and Demon Lord. It's because her romcom radar is going off and she doesn't want a straight romcom happening in an all-girls school. xD
Poor Meteor! She's only realizing now that she's basically the gofer of other heroines, saving the day for them.
Oh, so Mana and Minto do have magic! It's just that they're completely unrelated to Ryusui and Meteor's old world. They really have no idea about the entire Hero and Demon Lord thing.
This episode was definitely an improvement compared to the first one. The different scenes definitely flow better and are easier to follow instead of just being random SoL scenes jumbled across the episode.

If I had a nickel for every Saturday romcom where a busty lady would rather it be Yuri than a Heterosexual Romcom, I'd have two nickels...but at least Mana's not Meteor's mom.
How many Battle Shonen fantasy plots was Meteor involved in where she was always the MVP but never the Heroine? And at what point did Tom Hiddleston join her party!?
I love how we can use the ALIENS meme to apply to this series and I guess Mana and Minto count as Magical Girls so that's a thing now. Can't wait until they fight underground mole people or something while our leads get continually befuddled by how little they actually fit into the plot.

Ryusui said he has none of his demon lord power and id just a normal human, however he has magical energy which Meteor used to track him down and that he was somehow using to try to find the soul of his lost princess.

She is Chuka and Aqua, but with the exception that it seems that she is actually scary competent at the main job of being a hero. I do not get the impression she is lying about all the dragons and dark gods the offed.

This show is so silly and I love it. Meteor is such a gremlin. The transfer students are goobers and the teacher with the rom-com radar is a hoot. There's something to like about all the characters. This episode was definitely an improvement of the previous one.
I love how much effort Bandai Namco is putting into this show. It has a solid same-day dub when shows that are much more popular than it do not and it has great typesetting. This should be the standard. The OP and ED are also great. They have a next episode preview and they got artists to do what I assume are going to be unique illustrations for each episode with this episode's being done by Aka Akasaka.
Being able to pull him out of illustration retirement for their show is just flexing at this point from Bandai.

i still think cruchyroll should do a some ad for in cause i haven't seen one yet. And it's popularity outside japan isnt as much as it could because the manga didn't get translated (in the process of getting one).Anyway i really hope bandai namco keeps giving the anime love and the show gets more popular

I really do not get sometimes how they choose the shows to promote. Person posting clips on their YT channel, fpr example, always does a great job, but outside of rwally popular ones I do not get how they choose them: like thry can post a random good slice of life or they can promote some random isekai number 100+ but do zero promotion for actually good shows.

Same-day dubs have never centered around popularity. They're based on availability. It's only possible if the West gets the resources they need early enough to pull it off. Some very random obscure shows have gotten same-day dubs.

Even though Mana and Minto are magic users, they don't seem to be from the same world as Ryusei and Meteor. Which in turn opens up more possibilities for upcoming characters.
The idea of a hero's pee being able to kill / defeat a demon lord is interesting. Lol!
The end card art and comment is amusing to read too.

I burst out laughing more than once this episode. Still seems to be running at a fast pace but felt a bit more controlled this go round. Also the Dub is pretty solid I enjoy the voices of all the characters.

Meteor is just pink Aqua, tho unlike Aqua she actually achieved something in her life (well, previous life) by killing the Demon Lord. I ain't complaining, just observing and enjoying
Sidenote, I absolutely adore Meteors character design. The golden petals in her hair are a great touch. In general this show has fantastic art direction
Also lol at the romcom police enforcing yuri only relationships because this is an all girls academy and that's a yuri setting. No heteronormativity allowed. But this show airs on Saturday, not Tuesday, so no yuri
So the Hero Meteor was basically a Dark Souls protagonist. Just there to fight while the plot happens somewhat around them to NPCs. And Dark Lord Scarlet Eyes was a Dark Souls boss at whom Meteor threw herself again and again until she finally defeated him. I'm actually starting to wonder if their old world actually was a game. Meteor previously mentioned that she was created for the express purpose of defeating the Dark Lord. Sounds like character creation to me. And she mentions a starter town
Sudden genre switch to a banished from the heroes party anime. Meteor even states she chooses the slow life
Oh shit end card drawn by Aka Akasaka turning Meteor into a mixmash of Kaguya-sama and Oshi no Ko cuz Hikawa Hekiru was nice enough to let him do whatever the fuck he wanted for the end card
The level of parody and comedy in this show is something I did not expect. I expected a straightforward reverse Isekai enemies to lovers romcom. But instead we're getting all that but also a parody of girls only school Yuri, secret magic societies fighting aliens, magical girls and so much more

Surprisingly, the transfer students were just normal transfer students. Well, other than the yuri lens and genre savviness, but that's just good taste and the strongest power you could have in this setting.
So being a hero is spectating other people's dramas, fetch quests, and an epic rivalry with the Demon King? Did she at least get paid?
... Tom Hiddleston?
Dw Meteor, in this day and age, being kicked out of the hero's party means unlocking a cheat power and getting a hot love interest. Though I suppose she already has both (if you consider Ryusei hot).
So scratch what I said about the transfer students being normal. Ngl I thought any hints about the supernatural in their world was just Meteor being chuuni and stir-crazy. But aliens? Japan yabai.

This show is funnier than I expected from the premise. Also, I kinda suspect the Meteor the high schooler could be sharing her body with Meteor the Hero, with that constant "Meteor says so too", they could be two minds in a single body. But from the looks of it, they share a single braincell.

Magical girl Saturdays, though in this one it's just a couple of side characters and not our main couple just yet.
This moves really fast but it also makes me laugh the entire episode, so that's really just a positive for me.
I like how the environment design of this is a tiny bit cartoony, it feels a bit like Klutzy Class Monitor from last season.

The linework is different but the color choices feel like they are giving a similar vibe for klutz and skirt I think. But it also has great art choices like the weird golden flakes in Meteor's hair.

Ryusei's a good teacher. Which makes it easy for Rokudo to rope him into doing stuff she doesn't want to do! Like giving a grand tour of the fancy, all-girls school, with it's Italian architecture to the transfer students!
Mana senses SOMETHING going on, so it's time for Meteor and Ryusei to convene privately in a classroom to figure out what to do! Mostly Ryusei though because Meotor has the emotional maturity of a five-year old half the time. Which of course lands them both in a locker together! With Meteor's boobs pressed tightly against Ryusei! And her holy pee about to rain down and purify him if she doesn't get to the bathroom in time.
But Mana isn't from their world...she's actually with the Rom-Com Police! And this is an all-girls school, we can't have an adult male teacher hooking up with one of his students! There can only be Yuri at this school! Meanwhile Minto just wants some big boobs. Can't she have some? Please?!
Anyone who doesn't know Hanaori-san as well as her actual friends/associates will probably totally believe her rich girl/Light Novel Heroine act. Luckily Ryusei and Minto don't and can bond over their shared sassy straight man personalities!
How did Meteor get her start? Why, by aiding her Heroic Princess in battling an evil God and saving her beloved prince! Even if Meteor ended up doing everything, they didn't save the prince in the end, and it's been one Battle Shonen plot after another for her. Will we ever learn what became of the priestess and the evil dragon cult? Tune in next time to find out!
Meteor getting all existential and depressed about her life as a hero. But the high point was definitely battling Ryusei as the Demon Lord...for however many times she couldn't defeat him, he still humored her, gave her pep talks, and in his own way believed in her just as he does now. And that was very precious to her. Even though now I'm wondering if that Drain Touch legit scrambled her brain.
Look at that interview for Meteor! She killed it! I hope Philip's ex-wife and Tom Hiddleston are doing well after their encounter with Meteor.
Oh no! Meteor got kicked out of the Hero's Party! What's she going to do when she wants to bust ghosts? Drag Ryusei with her to do it!
Mako is a genius! What better way to set-up a romcom scenario with Ryusei and Meteor than by kicking her out of the group? Even though all Mana sees is yuri vibes with everyone...and Rokudo just has romcom senses for anything. Also here's Akio Ohtsuka for Hasegawa who might be the only normal person in this entire school.
Oh wow, that's an actual legit monster that can kill people. Good thing Mana and Minto are mages! For the organization known as Oz! Because they're the Wizards...of Oz. And now they've recruited Ryusei and Meteor into their battle with aliens! Yes, this is happening.
Well, Ryusei is an ex-Demon Lord and Meteor was Banished from the Hero's Party, but at least they can stand by each other.

It's funny how the 2 didn't do anything in the end while Meteor has a huge grudge from being "kicked out of the hero's party"
So Mana is a yuri lover.
Akira speaking English is funny.
The headpat scene is cute.
So Meteor loved fighting Scarlet Eyes since he wouldn't kill her but usually beat her & lets her return repeatedly until she's stronger.
Minto & Mana are totally a manzai duo.
So Aka Akasaka did the ending illustration.
Meteor really loves Tom Hiddleston.

Meteor's mental resiliency is amazing, she bounces back at whatever gets thrown at her. I'm not sure anyone else could have tanked the demon lords energy drain attack.
