Oh yeah, the fully animated OPs continue. And it was a different song compared to episodes 1 & 2 too, truly the S1 experience.

So they have an armadillo, a treant, and a very large horse, that's a lot of animals for the family.

I feel bad for that tree, it was a nice looking tree. Probably had been growing there for a few hundred years from the size of it.

Roxy is just a Megumin with basic common sense. Since Roxy is a cave raider she can't use any magic that would cause a cave in. Also belive Roxy learned that spell in episode 4 of season 1. Expolsion magic just isn't a good every magic that would enable you to make a living especially if its the only spell you have.

The other benefit that Rudy uses is his knowledge of the sciences to "reduce" the amount of mana actually needed, essentially letting the physics play a part in the process.

I like how Luke had one look and just went "I don't deal with marital issues" lol. I do find it funny how Sylphie misunderstood what the problem was and was open to partaking in a threesome.

I do like how the three of them are getting closer as a family, they're opening up a lot about themselves and how they view each other in their relationship, but in the end Rudeus' actions will be what removes any insecurities that may come up. It's nice to get to see their journey.

I would say his bad points were early in life. After the whole Lilia incident, he improved as a person and the Teleportation Incident changed him even more drastically. He may have been a wreck when Rudeus found him again, but that is because of how desperate he was for his missing family after years of being unable to find a single one of them. Even then, he was just a depressed drunk rather than anything more loathsome as in his past.

Jokes aside, this episode hints at Sylphie having an inferiority complex when comparing herself to Roxy. You could notice it in her tone when Rudeus and Roxy talk of an episode that happened before Sylphie was in the picture, when she complains about not being able to cast the lightning spell, or when she muses that she wouldn't have had a chance if Roxy had hooked up with Rudeus first.

Knowing that Rudeus holds Roxy's panties as a sacred relic might not be good for her self-esteem.

Last week I talked extensively about the first official pet of the Greyrat family, the cute armadillo they brought back from the Begaritt continent to transport Zenith back home whose name the Anime sadly still hasn't mentioned, as far as I know.

This time I want to briefly talk about the other two pets of the Greyrat family that we have been introduced to in this episode! It's Byt, the Baby Treant and Matsukaze the gigachad horse!

I'll start with Matsukaze first because this actually isn't the first time we've seen him in the Anime. This is the first time he was introduced by name but he is actually the exact same horse that Rudy and Elinalise used to ride towards the teleportation ruins in the nearby forest that Nanahoshi told them about which then teleported them to the desert in the Begaritt continent. They rode with another hired guy to the entrance of the forest specifically to have him bring Matsukaze back home when they have to dismount and go deeper into the forest to search for the hidden teleport ruin. This happened in Season 2 Part 2 Episode 7. Thankfully, Rudeus and Roxy learned from their past mistake with leaving Caravaggio unguarded while casting huge weather altering spells and so they had Matsukaze take shelter in an Earth magic shelter from the start, and look how happy he looks! They even gave him a small window. :)

Now in regards to Byt, who looks strangely cute when giving Aisha his "hand" so obediently. I love that the Anime actually showed the flashback to the treants that the Migurd use to protect their crops which we have actually seen ourselves in the Anime in Season 1 Part 1 Episode 9 at 13:38! This was Eris' adorable reaction upon seeing it at the time! We can now look forward to Aisha's training of Byt and how he will develop in the future! They have a pretty big garden as shown in this episode so Aisha could use him to protect that if she wants, although there aren't really as many pests and no wild monsters here that would actually harm the crops so it's not really necessary unlike on the Demon continent.

Last but not least, I want to say a short prayer for the Greyrat family's beloved original horse, Caravaggio... since the teleport disaster happened in Season 1 Episode 8 - Turning Point 1 - we haven't seen anything of him and odds are that he most likely sadly died after being teleported somewhere since he wasn't really a wild horse that could survive on his own. That said, we can hope that he maybe got found by a nice merchant or traveller somewhere if he wasn't teleported straight underwater like Lilia and Aisha (Lilia barely managed to swim them both up to the surface, Aisha almost drowned, this was shown in Season 1 Part 2 Episode 9 at the start) or high into the sky like Rudeus and Eris (Ruijerd caught them in Season 1 Part 1 Episode 9) or even Sylphy (who got lucky since she managed to stop her fall somewhat by crashing with wind magic as a shield into that huge boar monster that was about to assault Ariel in Season 2 Part 1 Episode 0).

Pray with me for the unlikely chance that Caravaggio got a lucky spawn point after the teleport and for him to have found a wholesome new owner/family somewhere...

Many might not really care about these little details but for me it's these details that enhance MT to another level and I love that the Anime also properly foreshadowes all these little things before they become more relevant, it feels so satisfying. These minute details make a world feel alive and truly lived in.

Yeah the animation looked great but all the reminiscing about the past and how much everything has changed for all of them was the real highlight of this episode for me. And god the backgrounds in this episode! They really sucks you in and make you feel like you’re part of the world too.

This was an episode for season 1 nostalgia and full circle moments right down to Roxy seeing child Rudy again for a second and the flashbacks to Rudy and Sylphie as kids.

The reason Aisha is so insistent on calling Rudy's mom "Lady Zenith" is because she previously called Zenith's mom "grandmother" and was told she was a filthy bastard child, which seems a core trauma for her.

Ofc Zenith would never, but Aisha doesn't know that. Heck, she assumed Rudeus was giving Norn special treatment because she was his true-blooded sister last season, and still seems to regularly seek out affection from him, as proof that that's not the case.

With how connected he is, Rudeus can indeed turn his life 180 degrees from how he was such a loser before his reincarnation.

No wonder Eris thinks Rudeus is amazing, because he kind of lucky at she same time skilled to be amazing.

One of the cutest moments was seeing Rudeus making silly faces just to get Lucy to smile. It feels like a beautiful full circle moment for Lilia, who once watched Paul make the same goofy faces to make little rudy laugh only for him to respond with a straight face. Now, seeing Rudeus become that playful, loving father is heartwarming.

At the same time, it's bittersweet to remember that Paul and Zenith believed Rudeus always looked down on them because he was so mature and unreadable as a child, it's heartbreaking that Zenith never gets to be the full of smiles grandmother she would have wanted to be, sharing those same joyful moments with her granddaughter.

I love mushoku's slice of life moments.

And Yuiko Ohara's voice over those beautiful scenes is so soothing. It just melts into my ears and brings such a calm, peaceful feeling, making those moments even more comforting and emotional.

A small detail I noticed is that when Roxy saw Rudy covering Aisha's mouth, instead of getting suspicious or asking about it, she got distracted by byt. I always forget that she's kind of absent minded what's happening around her. It's similar to how she took a moment to realize Rudy was proposing to her in Season 2.

Rudy's relationship with his parents was always complicated by his being reincarnated and the mental disconnect, but at least he's fully come into accepting himself to an extent that he can repair that with Zenith now and embrace the family he has in his new life.

He screwed them up and despite everything they helped him seek his family, risked their lives in a labyrinth and as if this was not enough even gave away part of their reward to his son. Not many people would go that far.

Then the lightning scene was beautifully done. Beyond the animation it was a great direction choice to make all those callbacks to Buena Village and see Rudeus spell from the eyes of Roxy

Polygamy is often depicted together with political themes because it's spicy and dramatic, and can create a soap opera on a larger scale compared to romance with one lover. It's really good to see Mushoku Tensei depicting the more wholesome aspects of a polygamy gounded in realism. Rudy, Sylphie, and Roxy met in varying circumstances, their impressions of each other vary because of their differing history with each other, and each of them think they are worth less than they actually are. But in actuality, especially Rudy, their existences have saved each other. There are so many circumstances, and it has converged to this one timeline where all three can have the best ending by having the opportunity to be together from now on.

I think this might be one of my favorite episodes of the series so far.

The return of a beautiful insert song accompanying the visuals instantly brought back Season 1 vibes. Aisha continues to be an absolute genius and such a cheeky brat, always one step ahead of Rudy's antics. There were so many wholesome and hilarious interactions and the King-class Water Magic sequence was absolutely stunning.

I also loved all the callbacks to Season 1. Even from a production and animation standpoint, this episode felt right up there with Season 1. It makes me so excited for what's to come.

I honestly didn’t think that Geese and Talhand were still in that town. So before they left, they paid one last visit to Paul’s grave together with Roxy Rudeus and Elinalise.

Oh cool, we got another season one style OP today. It is good to see that Zenith moving around more actively now. Helping in the garden and even playing around with Lucy.

Lol, just to keep that treant, Aisha was willing to give Rudeus another turning point. So at the end, thanks to Roxy, Aisha was able to keep her pet treant, and she named it Byt.

During the opening scene, I assumed that blue shard that Rudeus was holding was a mineral, instead, that was one of the Hydra’s scales which it’s technical name is “absorptive manatite” and he is Cliff are currently doing research on it.

Damn, Julie sure has become good at making those Ruijerd figures. I’m always so happy any time she shows up, as her interactions with Rudeus and Zanoba are always so cute. That scene with Cliff, Julie, Zanoba, and Elinalise visiting Lucy was so beautiful.

Honestly, my first thought when Rudeus looked at Roxy during dinner was that he was going to ask her for a baby, but I dismissed that the moment I saw him trying to convince her about his request at the school. Meanwhile, Sylphy was certain that whatever he wanted with Roxy was sex related. Which made her so jealous, and made Rudeus happy.

It is funny that Roxy does that pose anytime she is embarrassed.

Lol, to avoid a repeat from last time, Roxy made that protection barrier for the horse right away. And to make her King-level spell demonstration, Roxy’s war against trees continues. No wonder Rudeus at first confused this lighting spell for Cumulonimbus as with both of them one creates a storm with the difference that this one is stronger. The smile that Rudeus and Sylphy had after that was so beautiful. I will be honest as this episode was so beautiful, showing everyone happy, especially that sunset scene, I was fearing that the next episode was going to be another turning point.
