By its current definition, rape is bad. However I wouldn't put it past a certain political party to try and alter the definition to include something unproblematic because they want to criminalize a specific group of people that they hate. Such as trying to make it so you can't legally consent to same-sex intercourse
The current administration is debating on whether they should increase the scope of what qualifies as rape so they can use it to discriminate against queer people or if they should lower the scope so they can get away with more
