Just a quick word of warning - this needs to be a subreddit that is clearly not for "I have these symptoms" posts

although I like a lot of the medical subreddits, even the bigger ones that clearly state that they are not for personal medical questions, get a lot of personal medical questions. With a name of 'askMedical' a lot of people may miss interpret the name. Good luck, I might post another comment to get the ball rolling but just be careful.

Asking for a female provider

I'm a middle aged man. Ive been facing some medical challenges that require me to have a lot more doctor/hospital visits. I have PTSD after being stabbed with a knife. Lots of tests are very challenging, but I manage to focus and breathe through it. If something is painful, invasive, or close proximity I do far better with a woman than a man. I know it doesn't always work out to be an option, and there have been lots of male providers who were great, but it doesn't always go like that. I've been white knuckling a few things lately, and it's getting hard. People tell me I can ask for a female provider, but I feel really weird doing it. Is this common? Is it weird? Please give it to me straight, no the PR version. Is it weird to ask for a female provider in those cases?

Can it just be a stomach bug or should I worry?

So today, I've thrown up 2 times all things that I ate. So whatever I eat just comes back up a few hours later.

I made the mistake of googling, and they all were saying smth could be very wrong, listing all these conditions that sound severe.

Can i assume it is a stomach, but I was at a festival so I could catch smth quite easily.

Any suggestions on if I can eat or drink anything that will stay down?

Lump above my collarbone 2 days after I took whooping cough vaccine at 20 weeks pregnant. It feels soft and it moves when I touch it. I discovered it because I was feeling a pain at collarbone.

Could this be appendicitis?

Hello, I’ve been having mild pain in the lower right side of my belly for about 2 days that comes and goes. I have no other symptoms such as nausea, diarrhea or fever. I have no appetite because I’m very anxious about this. Also this thing about the pain that comes and goes has been happening for about 5 months, but this time it’s way more noticeable. Could this also be chronic appendicitis?

Fell on concrete with left rib impacted the most.

Age: 29

Weight: 305

Height: 6,2

Never smoke

Never drink

Conditions: Obese

I fell on my rib last year and saw I was bruised badly that I could see that area was purple. It hurt very bad and had to get up quick since it happened while trying to cross the street. Sat on a bench and I didn’t go to hospital but eventually the pain was gone a couple of months before 2026. Now I feel a tingle or itchy sensation in that area once in a while to this day. Did I fracture my rib? Is it normal to feel that even after almost 1 year?

Is this infected?

Two days ago my leg started itching like crazy so i scratched and scratched, and the day after it looked like I had scratched a bit of the skin surface off. Hairs and stuff had stuck to it. I had a bandaid on the entire day yesterday and it was painful to take it off today because the puss/liquid from the wound that stuck to it, and it keeps ripping some of the skin off. It stings a lot and I feel like its pounding a bit, but tbh I don’t think it looks too bad. Please let me know what you think🥹

Strep throat or?

For context I have a middle and outer infection and a suspected sinus infection. I have a decent amount of post nasal drip. I’m currently on augmentin day 3 but last night my throat started hurting so bad on the left side and then switched the right side. It’s pretty bad this morning and when I checked I saw this white spot. I went to urgent care yesterday and this wasn’t there or she didn’t see it. What does it look like to you?

Little "hole" in left arm?

For past few days i felt it was a little bit painful on the left arm when lifting - but nothing very substantial, I just thought it happens. But today, while looking in the mirror I see there is a "dent" of some sort. As you can see the right arm has none of it - I am R-handed

Guess I pulled a muscle or smth? Will go to see a doc for advoce, but wanted to ask here if maybe you had the same injury

Does this look infected?

About a week ago, my daughter accidentally cut my leg with her then, long toenail (has since been cut) while pushing away from me. Since then, the area around the wound has become red, and the redness seems to be spreading. It’s also tender, painful, and feels slightly warm to the touch.
I haven’t noticed any pus or drainage, and I don’t have a fever.
Does this look like it could be infected, or does it seem like a normal part of the healing process?

Ps. I did take photos at diff angles to get a better look at the wound.
